Chapter 31
No matter what the situation was at the military, that was the military’s business. This was Drunham City. The person with the highest power here was still Malcolm.
See they were at Drunham City, they had to do as Malcolm said, Therefore, after Keith left, Howard rushed to Malcolm’s home.
Howard Cat on the couch across from Malcolm. He was furious with She Walker family as he said, “Mr. Lynch, Keith from the Walkers came to look for me earlier. He said they would be holding a get- together soon. He asked me not to appear on their turf and to stay
Out of their business. Tell me, what should we do?”
Malcolm lit a cigarette and took a deep puff of it. He looked out the window with his eyes squinted into a serious gaze.
He said, “The Walkers are very arrogant, but they are very powerful in Drunham City. We can’t do anything to them as we please. But this time, they’ve offended someone they shouldn’t have. We have orders from above asking us not to make a move. So, let’s just watch quietly.
“Tell your men to stay away from there as much as they can. Have all of them stay five kilometers away from that area. If anything happens, just rush up to the people and arrest them.”
*Arrest them? Arrest who?” Howard asked in confusion.
“The Walkers, of course!” said Malcolm.
He took his time finishing his cigarette before turning around and continuing, “The person at Jade Manor is the commander-in-chief for the Pendragon Warriors. The Walkers are only somebody inBelongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Drunham City, yet they had someone run over his six-year-old daughter, causing
severe injuries. Do you think he would just let them off the hook?”
“You know how formidable the Pendragon Warriors are. His daughter is like the little princess of a country named Biskeland. The Walkers are just digging their own grave without realizing it. Haha.”
“Yes, Mr. Lynch!” Howard answered loudly.
Knowing that the Walker family was about to be finished put Howard in an incredibly happy mood. The anger from being threatened earlier vanished as well. He left the mansion, humming a tune.
Malcolm, on the other hand, stood by the bed and continued smoking. He looked in the distance and sighed with a solemn expression. He said, “Drunham City is going to have a change in power.”
Meanwhile, Liam and Celena were in the garden of Jade Manor. He was helping Celena to the gazebo for some fresh air after she woke
1.
Celena kept looking at Liam. She was afraid it was only just a dream. She was scared that she would wake up if she blinked.
Liam saw that she was teary-eyed. He held her cold and pale hands tightly and gazed deeply into her as he said, “Celena, I’m sorry for letting you get this hurt. I promise that with me around, I’ll never let anyone bully you and Jovie again. Trust me, alright?”
Celena nodded, feeling the urge to cry. She was in Liam’s arms and felt so touched that tears were welling in her eyes. She said, “Liam, thank you. Thank you for coming back in time to save Jovie.”
Suddenly, Celena thought of the Waker family. She quickly sat up straight and asked with concern, “How did you come back? Jonas is a vicious man. Did you get hurt?”
The Walker family had always been brutal. She wondered how Liam
returned unharmed. >
Plenty had changed in seven years. Celena could hardly see the man she knew before in Liam. He had become very mysterious, and she could not see through him.
Liam saw that Celena was starting to get worried again. He smiled and comforted her, “Don’t worry. I did as you said seven years ago and went to the north. I joined the military after that. Don’t overthink it. Just recuperate here in peace and spend time with Jovie. Leave everything else to me.”
