Chapter 29
Chapter 29
“I prefer to sleep alone.” Aurelia said.
His masculine aura enveloped her, leaving her gasping for breath and her head spinning. Her heart
was pounding wildly in her chest.
Leopold could feel it, her heart pounding like the fierce waves of the sea. It stirred him and set him
ablaze. “Are you sure?” Leopold asked.
Stripping down to seduce him and using Arnold to provoke him, wasn’t she just trying to become his
woman?
Aurelia was starting to feel uncomfortable under his weight. His burning heat was constantly
transferring to her skin, making her feel uncomfortably hot as well.
“I’m pregnant. I’m still in the first trimester.” Aurelia said. Her voice was soft, barely a whisper. But it
was like a bucket of ice water pouring over Leopold’s head, instantly bringing him back to his senses.
He pushed himself up with one hand on the back of the chair. He stood up abruptly, and the fire in his
eyes gradually was replaced by icy coldness.
“Do you know what it means to be too smart for your own good?” Leopold asked.
Aurelia shook her head. Her movement reminded him of a bobblehead doll, “I’m not smart. I’m actually
quite naive.”
“Oh?” He raised an eyebrow sarcastically, as if he’d just heard a joke.
A mind full of schemes, a belly full of plots, and a thousand tricks up her sleeve, where was the
naivety? She was just pretending!
“All your tricks will be shattered with me. Don’t waste your time.” With a cold remark, he strode out of
the
room.
Aurelia curled up. She hadn’t really done anything, so why did she look so unbearable in his eyes?
Maybe, her biggest mistake was becoming pregnant with his child. She wasn’t the mother of his child Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
he wanted, so he despised and detested her.
Leopold got into his car. His anger not yet got subsided, also his face looked grim and frightening.
Kevin glanced at him. Leopold had always been poker–faced, never showing his emotions. This was
the first time he’d seen him visibly angry.
“Is Mr. Leopold worried about Ms. Aurelia and Arnold…” Keven asked. A chilling gaze shut him up
mid–sentence.
“Do I need to worry? Do you think I can’t compete with Arnold?” Leopold retorted.
Kevin sighed inwardly. That was hard to say. Mr. Leopold was a god of war, a king in the business
world. But when it came to love, he was a complete novice. Arnold, on the other hand, was a veteran.
“Arnold has been with countless women; he knows how to woo them and how to ditch them. He’s never
met a woman he couldn’t handle. With someone like Ms. Aurelia who has no experience in love and is
full of romantic fantasies, she’s likely to fall for him at the slightest hint of affection.” Kevin said.
The words hit Leopold like a bomb, exploding in his mind. Aurelia’s voice echoed in his ears, “I have
someone I like. I’ve only liked him in my life. I won’t like anyone else.”
His fingers tightened abruptly, and the plastic water bottle in his hand crumpled into a hideous shape.
11:00
After a good night’s sleep, Aurelia was back to her energetic self. She got up early, and started getting
ready. She was going to Muse Club to broaden her horizons.
She chose a classic Grecian–style maxi dress. Her thick, dark hair naturally cascaded over her
shoulders. Just as she reached the elevator lobby, she was stopped by a towering figure.
“Mr. Leopold, what brings you here? Don’t you have to spend the weekend with your fiancée?” Aurelia
asked. Leopold’s gaze lingered on her for a moment. The white dress made her look stunning, like the
Greek goddess Aphrodite just descended from heaven.
“Where are you going?” Leopold asked.
“Muse Club, they’re having a party.” Aurelia murmured.
Leopold frowned slightly. He’d heard something about it the day before. That was why he was here.
“Didn’t I tell you to rest at home when you’re not working? Do my words mean nothing to you?” Leopold
asked.
Aurelia shivered as a cold chill swept over her, “There’ll be a lot of famous artists and designers at
Muse Club. It’s a rare opportunity.”
“No!” Leopold picked her up and started walking back. His actions were domineering.
The sudden movement startled her, leaving her stunned.
