30 Days till I Divorce My Husband (Estrella and Jason)

Chapter 136

Even though Estrella wasn’t the brightest bulb in the box, she wasn’t that dim either.

Jason placed his hand on Estrella’s shoulder, turning her to face him. “Estrella, cut the

act.”

Estrella turned away from him again, too irritated to even look at him, let alone argue back.

What a piece of work!

If she actually wrote that promise, she’d be the fool.

Seeing that Estrella ignored him after he spoke, Jason’s gaze lingered on her before he stood up from the bed and switched on the main light. “Estrella, you sure you won’t write this pledge?” he asked.

The bright light stung her eyes. She propped herself up in bed and sat up, exasperated. “Jason, are you out of your mind? Who the hell writes such a promise in the middle of the night? And come on, are you a toddler? Does that piece of paper actually mean anything?”

Jason looked down at her without responding to her rant, simply tugging at the sash of his robe. “Sure you won’t write it?”

Estrella’s eyes trailed down to his toned waist and further up to his abs and pecs… Feeling a dangerous sensation creeping up on her, she swallowed hard and then clutched the sheets tighter. “What are you trying to do?” They had just finished a marathon sex.

Jason flexed his neck, calmly saying, “Maybe I wasn’t enthusiastic enough before and didn’t make you comfortable enough to decide to stay with me. So, it seems necessary to turn up the heat again.”

Estrella felt a tingling on her scalp. She wasn’t exaggerating-her legs were jelly, and she had no strength left. If Jason went for another few rounds, she was sure she wouldn’t be able to get out of bed the next morning.

Their eyes met, Jason cleared his throat, and Estrella scrambled out of bed. “I’ll write. I’ll write it for you.”

“Where’s the paper? The pen?” she said, jumping out of bed barefoot, clamoring for writing materials.

Behind her, a faint smile played on Jason’s lips, but he quickly subdued it and walked over to the desk to fetch a pen and paper for her.

Taking the pen and paper from Jason, Estrella looked at him and said, “How should I write this? Maybe you write it, and I’ll just sign?” Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.

Jason leaned against the desk. “I’ll dictate, and you write.” He began, “I, Estrella, hereby promise Jason that marrying him is entirely of my own free will, without any ulterior motives. Regardless of wealth or poverty, no matter what happens, I will stand by Jason, forever and ever…”

Before he could finish, Estrella looked up at him with disdain. He had the nerve to ask for such a pledge when all he had given her was a shoddy, ill-fitting ring. His audacity knew no bounds.

Ignoring her contemptuous look, Jason merely pulled at the sash of his robe again. Without another word, Estrella ducked her head and dutifully began to write what he had dictated.

Jason tightened his sash with satisfaction and waited for her to finish before continuing, “I promise never to ask for a divorce from Jason on any pretext or for any reason, especially after we have children. I will never even speak of divorce.”

He paused, then added, “If I break this promise… from now on, no more climaxes.”

Estrella slammed the pen down on the desk and glared at Jason. “You’re a real pièce of work, Jason. No wonder everyone talks behind your back. Your mother was right; you’ve got all the family’s vices rolled into one.”

She had expected him to threaten her with lightning strikes or a legal battle, but instead, he cruelly wished her a lack of pleasure. Downright wicked. She wasn’t going to write such a humiliating thing.

As Estrella tossed the pen aside, Jason started to undo his sash again. She didn’t pick up the pen this time but instead looked at him and said, “Go ahead, might as well enjoy it while I can.”

“Brave words, Estrella,” he said with a grin that wasn’t quite a grin.

Estrella turned to face him, and as her eyes fell on his lower body, she noticed how… impressive he was even before he got started. That tingling sensation returned.

He was the worst. Before, he wouldn’t let her fuck him when she wanted to. Now, she didn’t want to, and he was threatening her to have sex.

As Jason’s robe began to tent, Estrella turned away and picked up the discarded pen. If he was going to force her every night, make a move every single evening, multiple times…

Well, she might as well write it. After all, what was written in haste couldn’t possibly come to pass, right?

As she wrote down Jason’s words, Estrella cursed him in her mind a million times over for good measure.

What terrible deeds had the Nelson family committed to produce such a son?

Reluctantly, Estrella finished the pledge, and Jason slid the stamp pad toward her. She

signed her name with gritted teeth and resentment and pressed her thumbprint onto the

paper.

Finally, the pledge was complete. Estrella looked at him and asked, “So I wrote the pledge. What about you?”

Jason replied, “Same here. I won’t bring up divorce either.”

Estrella retorted, “Oh, please! You didn’t swear an oath. Don’t feel pressured on my account.” She had written a pledge not to initiate divorce, but she hadn’t said that if Jason asked for a divorce, she wouldn’t agree. So, it was fine by her if he brought it up.

Seeing right through her little game, Jason picked up the pen to write beneath her pledge. Estrella quickly reached out to stop him. “You don’t have to write anything. I was just asking. I’m not as childish as you and don’t want to pressure you.”

She regretted her impulsive question as she tried to stop Jason. It was just an offhand remark, but Jason took it seriously and was about to put pen to paper.

The more Estrella tried to stop Jason, the darker the storm brewing on his face became. Finally, he insisted on adding a passage to their agreement, echoing Estrella’s sentiments, Vowing that if he broke the promise, he too would be devoid of joy. With a flourish, he signed his name and pressed his thumb into the ink, sealing his commitment.

Estrella stood there, her head spinning with confusion. They had been on the brink of discussing divorce, and now this. What in the world was Jason thinking? Did he not want to end their marriage? Was he aiming for a lifetime of mutual torment?

Even if what she had said that one time was harsh, he had retaliated with a slap, a hit that left her reeling. Surely, by now, he should have cooled off.

The two stood there, eyeing each other, and Estrella didn’t bother to delve deeper into his thoughts. Other people’s wedding vows often turned out to be empty words, so what weight did this piece of paper they’d just written hold?

Suppressing a yawn, Estrella languidly rose from her chair.

Estrella had, after all, written the pledge for him, and Jason’s mood lifted.

Barely awake, Estrella was about to collapse into bed when Jason suddenly wrapped his arms around her from behind, his chin resting heavily on her shoulder. His face was warm and soft against her skin, and as he embraced her, Estrella involuntarily shivered with a reflexive tremor.
