A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 796 Critical Condition

“Would you like to draw more blood?”

Ranita nodded, “Is that okay?”

The nurse hesitated, seeing Ranita’s pale face. “We can draw up to 400 milliliters at most. Your body won’t be able to handle more.”

Ranita nodded again and didn’t say anything else.

After she left, Shannon hadn’t come out yet. Holly immediately rushed over, tears in her eyes, as if she had just stepped on a cat’s tail.

“Ranita, who cares if you donate blood! Bring my brother back!”

“You better leave now. Our family doesn’t want to see you!”

Ranita grabbed Eve’s hand and asked in confusion, “What happened? Is something wrong?”

Eve’s expression turned grim. “A doctor just came out with a critical condition notice.”

What? Critical condition notice?!

Ranita had just donated so much blood, and now, with the added shock, her vision darkened. The world seemed to spin, and she felt unsteady on her feet.

Brendon was going to die?

How could this be?!

“Ranita! Ranita!” Ranita only heard a buzzing in her ears. The voices around her became indistinct, and then everything went black.

“Is she really okay? Why hasn’t she woken up yet?”

“She’s fine. She fainted from donating 400 milliliters of blood and being overwhelmed. After receiving saline solution…”

In her daze, Ranita heard someone speaking beside her.

The voice wasn’t very clear, and Ranita could only catch fragments of it. She felt like she had woken up but also like she hadn’t.

“How is it going in the operating room?”

“The vital signs have stabilized, and the doctor is stitching up the wound. It may take some more time…”

The footsteps gradually faded away, followed by Eve’s choked voice, “Wuwu, Dylan… why hasn’t Ranita woken up yet?”

“Don’t worry. The nurse said Ranita should be fine.” Dylan paused and continued, “But Brendon’s situation is more complicated.”

It had been a while since the surgery started, and Ranita had fainted again after the critical condition notice. It seemed like the situation wasn’t good.

Brendon?!

Ranita heard nothing but men’s names.

Brendon was still in the operating room… How could she be lying here? Ranita forcefully opened her eyes and reached out to grab a hand.

“Ranita? You’re awake!” Eve exclaimed in joy. “Dylan, quickly bring a cup of warm water with some glucose.”

Dylan hurriedly poured a cup of water and handed it to Ranita. “Ranita, how do you feel? Are you feeling better? Still dizzy? I’ll call the doctor.”

“Can’t you see that Ranita is uncomfortable? Why are you asking so many questions? How can Ranita answer you?” Eve looked at Dylan with disdain as she supported Ranita. “Ranita, drink some water first and take your time.”

The water tasted sweet.

But Ranita could taste bitterness.

She handed the cup to Eve and anxiously asked, “What about Brendon? How is he?”

Eve and Dylan exchanged glances but didn’t speak for a while.

Ranita’s heart skipped a beat as she grabbed Eve’s hand and nervously said, “Tell me! What happened to Brendon? He…”

Tears unexpectedly rolled down her cheeks. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

Her already pale face looked even more heartbroken.

“Ranita… don’t cry… please don’t cry,” Eve comforted her, wiping away her tears. She explained, “His vital signs have stabilized. The doctor is stitching up his wound. He’s fine… don’t cry.”
