A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 806: Disgust

As Shannon was about to kiss him, Brendon turned his head away, avoiding the kiss.

“What are you doing?” Brendon frowned, looking at Shannon with displeasure. Shannon stared back awkwardly, “Brendon, I didn’t mean to… I…”

“I just couldn’t help myself.”This is from NôvelDrama.Org.

Shannon covered her face with her hands, looking both shy and deeply upset.

Holly, who was standing at the door, heard everything. Ignoring Ranita, she quickly ran over to support Shannon and comfort her. “Shannon, are you okay?”

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to… I…” Shannon said weakly, her eyes turning red.

Holly immediately defended her, “Brother, don’t blame Shannon! She’s your fiancee; isn’t it natural for her to want to kiss you?”

“And you know how much Shannon cares about you. Seeing you lying in that hospital bed must have broken her heart!”

Brendon didn’t look at Holly; he kept his eyes fixed on Ranita.

“Come here!” Brendon raised his hand.

Ranita bit her lip, feeling like she was being treated like a dog. What a jerk!

Despite her inner disdain, Ranita obediently walked over. Seeing his much thinner face made her heart ache.

“You’re here.”

“Yes,” Ranita nodded. “Are you feeling better?”

Brendon stared at her, and Ranita only had eyes for him. This exclusive focus on each other made Holly and Shannon feel particularly awkward.

Shannon’s eyes reddened as she covered her mouth, trying to hold back tears. Holly suddenly exploded, “Ranita, why are you pretending to care? If it weren’t for you, my brother wouldn’t be lying here injured!”

“Holly!” Brendon glanced at Holly out of the corner of his eye. “Get out!”

“Brother!” Holly refused to listen. “Didn’t you hear what I said before? You got seriously injured saving Ranita, but it was Shannon who disregarded her own health to donate blood for you and stayed by your side for two days and nights without rest. And Ranita? She was resting comfortably and didn’t even look at you!”

“You clearly love Shannon the most. Why have you changed? What’s so special about Ranita?”

Holly yelled like a lioness out of control.

Shannon pulled Holly back, feeling wronged. “Holly, stop! Stop talking!”

“Shannon, stop being so kind! The kinder you are, the more people think they can bully you! It’s Ranita who wronged you! What do we have to be afraid of?” Holly gritted her teeth and shouted at Ranita, “Ranita, there are so many men in the world. Why do you have to cling to my brother?”

“He’s someone else’s fiance. If you like taking things so much, why don’t you take someone else’s? Can’t you leave Shannon alone?”

“Enough! Holly, get out!” Brendon said coldly. He called the bodyguards to forcibly take Holly back home and forbade her from causing any more trouble at the hospital.

Ranita quietly watched Shannon cry, feeling a bit awkward. “Brendon, maybe I should go. You two can talk.”

“Ranita!” Brendon grabbed her hand and looked up at her. “Did you donate blood for me?”

Whenever Ranita got an injection, it left noticeable bruises.

Even after two or three days, there were still marks on her arm.

Ranita remained silent.

Brendon looked at Shannon and said calmly, “Shannon, I asked the nurse who drew the blood back then…”

Before he could finish his sentence, Shannon’s face turned pale immediately.
