A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 816: Sweet

Ranita was kissed until she had no strength left to resist.

Brendon buried his head in her shoulder, finally satisfied, and said, “It’s like I just had a sweet lollipop; I feel full of energy.”

Ranita’s face turned even redder from his teasing.Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.

“Stop talking and go to sleep!”

Ranita checked the time; it was already past midnight. For a patient, rest was the best remedy, but here he was, staying up late just to kiss her.

“Okay, I’ll sleep.”

“Really? So obedient and sensible?” Ranita laughed softly, about to tease him further, but noticed he was already asleep, his breathing even.

Ranita glanced at him. When he slept, he looked so quiet and peaceful, much like Ayaan! She couldn’t resist reaching out to touch his face. He frowned and murmured uncomfortably.

Ranita held her breath, afraid of waking him, and quickly withdrew her hand, which ended up pressed against the pillow by his face.

“Ranita…” he murmured softly in her ear, the sound tender like a seed planted in her heart, growing into a towering tree in an instant.

Ranita’s eyes welled up with tears.

The next day, Allen Stuart arrived on time to pick her up. Brendon looked displeased. Ranita handed him a glass of water. “I’ll be back after lunch. Remember to take your medicine and rest after you eat, okay?”

Brendon looked at her with a resentful gaze but said nothing.

Ignoring him, Ranita cheerfully left with Allen Stuart for lunch.

The restaurant Allen Stuart recommended was indeed excellent, offering good food and a great view. But Ranita had another reason for meeting Allen Stuart.

“Allen, I need to ask you a favor.”

“Ranita, just say it! If I can do it, I will!” Allen Stuart was in high spirits, eager to help.

Ranita thought for a moment and said, “I remember Stuart’s Corp has an aid project in South Africa. Can you ask them to help me find information about a medical aid team there?”

“Specifically about two people named Steve Pearson and Yasmin Pearson.”

Ranita had tried calling Steve Pearson directly for a while now and was really worried.

“What? Dr. Pearson went to South Africa for medical aid? I thought he was in Slovenia,” Allen Stuart said, surprised. He had always assumed Dr. Pearson stayed put waiting for Ranita.

“No, he went to find Yasmin a while ago,” Ranita explained briefly. Allen Stuart immediately said, “I’ll talk to the project team there and ask them to keep an eye on the medical team.”

“But it might take some time.” Allen Stuart sighed and added, “Honestly, the disparity between rich and poor there is huge. Our project is in a relatively well-off area, but the medical team is in the opposite situation.”

“In those places, forget about hygiene; sometimes they don’t even have enough food or clean water.” He paused before continuing, “And I’ve heard that some remote villages there are experiencing severe infectious disease outbreaks.”

Hearing this made Ranita even more worried.

“Allen, please find out as soon as possible,” she said. Just then, she received a message from Brendon: “Our son is here. When are you coming back?”

Brendon also sent her a photo of Ayaan.

Ayaan was climbing onto the hospital bed without caring if he would hurt his father’s wounds, snuggling up to him.

Brendon, being quite cunning, wasn’t wearing a shirt. His waist and abdomen were wrapped in bandages, and his chest showed defined muscles.
