A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 818: Determination

“Wait, Brendon… Should I tell Ranita directly about the news I found out, or should I tell you first?” Allen Stuart asked anxiously.

“Why can’t you tell both?” Brendon said disdainfully. “Your brain is not even as good as my three-year-old son’s.”

Allen Stuart rolled his eyes. “Brendon, that’s not fair to say…”

“You’re actually bothered by that? Seems like you really are inferior,” Brendon finished speaking and Ayaan snatched the phone away. Ayaan held the phone softly and said, “Uncle, when are you going to play with Ayaan?”

“Didn’t you say you wanted to buy Ayaan a big Lego set?” Allen Stuart’s heart softened. “My adorable little sweetheart, Uncle will go buy it right away. Shall I bring it to the hospital for you?”

“Uncle, I’ll give you an address, you can send it there! Dad is in the hospital and it’s inconvenient for him.” Ayaan suggested thoughtfully, making Allen Stuart laugh heartily.

After hanging up the phone, Brendon pinched his son’s cheek and asked, “Little guy, do you like Dad more or Uncle Allen more?”

Ayaan, with his fair and tender skin, hugged Brendon’s arm with his short arms and blinked, saying, “Dad, Uncle Allen, I like them both.”

This biological son couldn’t be kept.

“Dad… When will you get better?” Ayaan also had tender moments as he pouted and looked at him pitifully.

“Do you care about Dad?” Brendon felt a little relieved in his heart, but the next second, Ayaan hummed and said, “I want Dad to play with me with the toy train.”

Brendon was speechless.

Just then, the door of the ward was gently pushed open, revealing Shannon’s snow-white face, accompanied by Lena Diaz.

“Brendon!” Shannon looked at Brendon softly and her gaze fell on Ayaan, trying her best to show her friendliness. “Hello, Ayaan!”

Ayaan immediately nestled into Brendon’s arms.

“Ayaan, be careful not to touch your dad’s wound!” Shannon hurriedly tried to take Ayaan away but was stopped by Brendon. “Don’t touch Ayaan.”

“Brendon! I didn’t mean anything… I’m just worried about you…” Shannon bit her lip in grievance! Lena Diaz, who followed behind her, had a shadow in her eyes as she glanced coldly at Ayaan and pursed her lips with a smile. “Brendon, are you feeling better?”

“Hello, Aunt.” Brendon replied coldly. “I’m fine.”Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

“You didn’t even say hello when you came with Shannon. It’s just me and Ayaan here, and no one greeted you.” Brendon was clearly driving them away.

Lena suppressed her anger and said with a fake smile, “Brendon, we’re all family. Let’s not talk about these formalities!”

“I’ve been busy and didn’t have time to come see you before. Now that I see you’re doing better, I feel much more relieved!” Lena paused and continued, “Shannon was really worried about you and insisted on coming to see you. Brendon, you know how important you are to her. Whatever she does, it’s all for you.”

Lena was clearly on her daughter’s side and never thought that her daughter would lose to a child raised by Alexia.

Lena spoke with a serious tone and a hint of pressure as an elder. “These little quarrels are not a problem. I hope you can think clearly about who can bring you a brighter future.”

Brendon reached out and rubbed Ayaan’s ear, covering it with his hand as he said, “Mrs. Murphy, there’s a child here, so let’s not say anything more. Since Shannon and I are divorced now, let’s not get too involved anymore!”
