A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 837: Claim

“Brendon, Ranita, I’m sorry… Am I disturbing you?”

Shannon was visibly upset, biting her lip with tears in her eyes, looking pitiful.

Brendon was truly heartless; he didn’t even glance at Shannon and coldly asked, “What do you want?”

“Brendon… I came to get some things. I didn’t expect to see you two…”

Shannon had come to trouble Ranita but didn’t expect to be so affected herself.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

Brendon’s gaze towards Ranita was extremely tender.

Even she had never felt such tenderness. It was not only gentle but also filled with a certain happiness and joy.

Shannon felt as if someone had stomped on her heart.

“What do you need? Why would your things be in my room?” Brendon frowned, clearly displeased.

Shannon bit her lip, looking like a bullied rabbit, and after a while, softly said, “Brendon, I’m sorry! Here’s what happened… When you had surgery, I stayed at Boulderland Mansion to take care of you. The new maid didn’t know and put my clothes in your room.”

Shannon hurriedly explained, “Ranita, don’t misunderstand! I haven’t been back for a while and only found out today. Don’t blame the new maid; it wasn’t intentional.”

Ranita looked at Shannon with a cold expression.

“It’s just a small matter. There’s nothing to misunderstand. If you need to take them, go ahead.”

Shannon blushed and said, “Alright, thank you, Ranita.”

Then she walked familiarly to the wardrobe in front of Ranita, first taking out a dress, then opening a drawer to retrieve a white lingerie set and matching thin, sexy underwear.

Holding the clothes, Shannon looked affectionately at Brendon. “Brendon, Ranita, sorry for the trouble. I’ll leave now!”

After she left, Brendon hugged Ranita from behind. “What’s wrong? Are you upset?”

“No!”

“Don’t lie! You look upset!” Brendon chuckled softly. “They wronged me!”

“Haha, if I weren’t here, would Miss Murphy have tried it on for you?” Ranita thought Shannon might actually have that intention; there was nothing she wouldn’t do!

Ranita felt very uncomfortable.

Even though they were divorced, Shannon still hovered around him as if nothing had happened. Because their families were old friends, Shannon and Brendon couldn’t completely avoid each other.

Ranita felt a lump in her throat, extremely uncomfortable.

“I wouldn’t look even if she wore it!” Brendon adjusted her in his arms, his fingers gently kneading her waist. He said with a straight face but not seriously, “Unless you wear it. I love to see that.”

His voice was low and husky, whispering into her ear.

Ranita felt a tickle in her heart.

Her face flushed slightly. “I won’t wear it for you!”

“What are you dreaming about!”

Brendon laughed softly, leaning close to her ear and kissing her before moving to her lips. He whispered breathlessly, “As long as you’re not angry.”

Ranita’s mind went blank from his kisses.

This little misunderstanding was soon forgotten. In truth, Ranita wasn’t really angry; she knew Shannon well enough to suspect it was intentional.

Otherwise, why come now when she was here? It was clearly meant to disgust her!
