A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 850: Guilty Conscience

“Miss Bowman, I have something to attend to, so I’ll leave first!” Nathan Foster said with a stern face and walked away.

Brendon raised an eyebrow, thinking that Nathan was quite sensible.

The man sat down and ordered another cup of coffee. Without any harsh words or sarcasm, he asked calmly, “Is the coffee good?”

He glanced at her briefly.

His cold demeanor made Ranita’s heart tremble; his attitude was terrifying!

Brendon had always used this demeanor to intimidate people. Ranita already felt guilty, and now she was filled with a sense of wrongdoing and remorse.

“I haven’t had a chance to drink it yet…” Ranita pursed her lips and cautiously observed his expression. Seeing that he was calmly looking at her, she felt a chill run down her spine.

“I really haven’t had a chance to drink it. We just sat down when you arrived.”

Brendon looked at her indifferently and asked again, “Are you satisfied with this man?”

Ranita: …

This man was really angry!

“What do you mean by satisfied or not? We just sat down and haven’t even…”

Brendon interrupted her, “So you really came for a blind date?”

“No… I came to… reject him!” A word popped into Ranita’s mind, “My mom arranged it, and I couldn’t refuse, right?”

Brendon’s expression softened a bit, just as the coffee arrived.

He took a few sips and nodded approvingly, “The coffee here is indeed good. You’ll definitely like it.”

Ranita hadn’t had a chance to take a sip yet; she was too busy talking.

“Brendon, how did you know I was here?” Ranita herself was here for the first time. “You didn’t follow me, did you?”

Brendon glanced at her again and said, “Telepathy?”

Ranita didn’t believe it!

It was her first time here, and the address was given to her. This man must have followed her! Ranita widened her eyes slightly and said, “Don’t you have anything better to do than follow me around?”

Brendon handed her the coffee, “I came to Steland for you. If I don’t follow you, who else would I follow?”

I came to Steland for you.

Every word hit Ranita’s heart like a warm current.

“And yet, you went on a blind date behind my back!” Another sentence turned Ranita’s feelings of warmth into nothing. All content is © N0velDrama.Org.

Ranita shivered.

“I really didn’t! Didn’t I just explain it to you? Don’t be so petty!” Ranita explained softly but saw Brendon lean in closer, pointing to his cheek, “Kiss me, and I won’t be mad!”

The man suddenly leaned in, his dry hand brushing against hers.

A faint fragrance mixed with the warmth of his body enveloped her. Ranita’s back heated up uncontrollably, and she shifted uncomfortably.

“Where are you going?” The man held her waist.

“Don’t get so close!” Ranita looked around. There weren’t many people, but they were still noticeable enough. “Someone might see us!”

Brendon frowned slightly and said, “Am I that bad? Do you dislike me that much?”

Ranita: …

Steland was where she grew up; she might run into someone she knew. Besides, kissing in public was really embarrassing.

“Brendon, stop messing around!”

“Then kiss me!” Brendon snorted, acting spoiled.

Brendon was usually cold and indifferent. Seeing him slightly raise his chin with an air of nobility and mischief was rare. He looked quite handsome! It made Ranita’s heart race.
