Chapter 862: Another Blind Date
Ranita understood clearly.
Her parents and brother stood beside her; she was no longer alone.
She had her own considerations…
“I know, brother,” Ranita sighed, biting her lip. “So right now, I don’t know what to do.”
“Brother… I… I actually love him,” Ranita’s eyes reddened. “Do you want to hear about it?”
Ranita continued, biting her lip, “During those years in Kurima, I held on because I loved him. Later, by a twist of fate, I married him… A lot happened… But I’ve always loved him.”
“Brother, if… if I ultimately want to be with him, can you not stop me?”
Jedidiah couldn’t listen any longer. He turned his eyes away and said, “Ranita! How can you be so foolish!”
“Fine, just pretend I didn’t say anything! Go back and rest!”
After a pause, Jedidiah added, “I won’t stop you, but how will you explain it to Mom and Dad? If they oppose it… will you still insist?”
Ranita tossed and turned with this question.
Alexia was discharged the next day. Her health was fine; she just needed a few days of rest at home.
Ranita felt relieved.
But a bigger problem loomed ahead. Alexia was eager to set her up on blind dates. The last one with Nathan Foster didn’t work out, leaving Alexia puzzled.
“I’ve arranged a meeting for you at KS Bar. Don’t young people love going there? Remember to have a good drink, okay?”
Ranita parked her car in front of the bar, feeling heavy-hearted as she got out and walked in. Though called a bar, it was more of a music lounge.
She found the table and was about to speak when an annoying male voice interrupted, “Ranita? What are you doing here?”
“Who are you?” Ranita felt he looked familiar but couldn’t place him. “Do we know each other?”
Gerardo’s nostrils flared with anger. “It’s me! Gerardo!”
“Gerardo? Ah…” Ranita finally remembered. She had gone on a blind date with Gerardo ages ago, but it hadn’t worked out.
“Haha, you finally remember! Miss Bowman, are you alone? Not at home with your child? What are you doing at a bar?” Gerardo paused and laughed lewdly, “Miss Bowman sure knows how to have fun!”
Ranita held back her temper. “This bar isn’t yours. What does it matter to you if I’m here?!”
A girl with long black hair sitting at the table laughed and said, “Beauty, this bar is actually owned by Gerardo’s brother, so it kind of is his.”
Ranita: …
“I don’t care whose it is. I’m here as a customer!” Ranita’s eyes fell on the table number. “I have a reservation at this table. Please move.”
Table 8, the spot Alexia had told her about, even had a bouquet of baby’s breath on it.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
“You? You have a reservation? This table is for my brother…” Gerardo’s eyes widened as he looked at her. “Ranita, you aren’t here for a blind date, are you?”
Gerardo felt his throat tighten.
“So what if I am?” As Ranita finished speaking, a cheerful laugh sounded behind her. “You must be Miss Ranita Bowman from the Bowman family?”
“I’m Leon Grant, Gerardo’s cousin.” Leon Grant wore casual clothes and was tall and handsome, with dimples appearing when he smiled.
Ranita’s first impression was that Leon was much better than Gerardo.
“These people heard I was going on a blind date and came to join the fun. You can ignore them!” Leon said, waving Gerardo away. “It seems Miss Ranita doesn’t like you much. You should take your friends and leave.”
