Chapter 912: Warning
“Ranita!”
Jedidiah shouted in fear, “What’s wrong with you?”
Ranita suddenly fainted, and Brendon was equally frightened. He reached out to hold her but was pushed away by Jedidiah. “What are you doing?”
“Ranita is not feeling well, can we focus on that first?” Brendon was extremely worried; Ranita looked terrifyingly fragile in Jedidiah’s arms.
“Move! Don’t block my way!” Jedidiah glared at him, picked up Ranita, and left quickly.
Brendon hurriedly followed.
But when they reached the hospital room, a nurse stopped him outside. “I’m sorry, please do not disturb the patient.”
Brendon was extremely agitated.
Shannon chose this moment to speak up, “Brendon, don’t worry, Ranita will be fine!”
Through the observation window, they could see some of what was happening inside. Jedidiah was holding Ranita’s hand tightly, looking anxious and sorrowful, his eyes filled with deep tenderness as he gazed at her.
Shannon’s eyes flashed with disdain.
“Brendon, with Jedidiah there, everything will be fine!” She paused, then casually tucked her hair behind her ear and added, “I heard from Sister Chole that Ranita is an adopted child of their family. Although they are not related by blood, Jedidiah treats Ranita very well!”
Brendon frowned.
He glanced coldly at Shannon. “Shannon, if you’re feeling better, you should go home.”
“I have other things to do.”
Shannon bit her lip in frustration. She had said so much, yet Brendon didn’t respond as she had hoped. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
“Brendon, did I say something wrong? I’m very worried about Ranita. I don’t want to leave. Let me stay here for a while.”
Brendon’s expression darkened.
He didn’t want Shannon to stay but had no authority to make her leave the hospital.
Brendon felt very irritated, especially after Shannon’s comments. He found Jedidiah’s hand holding Ranita’s very annoying.
Ranita had never told him about her life at Bowman’s Mansion or her relationship with Jedidiah.
Whenever she called him brother, it was full of attachment and affection, like real family, so he had never questioned it.
“Brendon, please let me stay. I’ll leave once I see that Ranita is okay,” Shannon pleaded pitifully.
Brendon said nothing and waited outside.
After an indeterminate amount of time, Jedidiah finally came out. Brendon immediately asked, “How is Ranita?”
Seeing Brendon and Shannon together made Jedidiah furious. He sneered, “What does my sister have to do with you? I have nothing to tell you about her.”
“Mr. Bowman, please tell me how she is,” Brendon was anxious, the veins on his forehead bulging as he tried to control his anger.
Jedidiah, usually mild-mannered, had no fondness for Brendon. He retorted, “I’m sorry, my sister’s matters are none of your concern. Please leave.”
“Do not disturb Ranita! And… don’t let this woman step into the room again, or I won’t be polite!”
Jedidiah had watched Ranita grow up and knew she disliked Shannon. He didn’t want Ranita to be upset by seeing Shannon.
Jedidiah went to find the doctor.
Brendon saw through the window that a nurse was still attending to Ranita, and his heart was in his throat.
