A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 919: Sweet Faint

“Ranita…” A low chuckle echoed in her ear. Ranita’s unfocused eyes looked at him, appearing a bit aggrieved and innocent.

Brendon lowered his head and kissed her again.

She was already feeling hot, and the warmth from the man made her even more dizzy, her eyes almost closing.

The kisses grew more frequent.

Her breathing became rapid and tense. Ranita felt a bit breathless but didn’t want to stop, so she gently pushed against the man’s chest, whimpering.

“Go to sleep! I’ll be back as soon as I can.” After a pause, the voice in her ear grew weaker. She seemed to hear someone say, “Wait for me.”

Ranita’s head spun, and she drifted off to sleep in a daze.

Her body alternated between hot and cold, and she sweated profusely, feeling sticky and uncomfortable.

After sweating, Ranita’s fever subsided, her mind felt clearer, and her consciousness began to sharpen.

She hazily wondered if she had dreamed about Brendon.

From the moment she woke up, Ranita was distracted, constantly thinking about Brendon and waiting for him.

But as night fell, he still hadn’t come.

Ranita’s head ached with anger. Damn Brendon said he would come to see her, but there wasn’t even a shadow of him!

Could it be that something went wrong with Shannon again?

“Ranita, what are you daydreaming about!” Jedidiah took some time off from work to visit her and brought her dinner.

“Nothing!” Ranita had no appetite and decided not to eat. “Jedidiah, I don’t want to eat! I want to sleep. You should go back!”Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

“How can that be! You’ve only taken a few bites.” Jedidiah frowned and tried to persuade her. “You need to eat something to have strength! Look at how thin your face has become…”

“Ayaan would definitely feel sorry for you if he saw you.”

After a pause, Jedidiah handed her the phone. “Someone’s looking for you…”

Ranita glanced at the phone. There was a message from Brendon, telling her that he had an urgent business trip and asking her to rest well.

Ranita suddenly blushed.

“Did he come this afternoon?” Ranita asked urgently. “I was half-asleep at the time and felt like he came.”

Jedidiah looked at her with exasperation. “Yes, he did come!”

So he really did come!

Ranita thought it was just a dream!

So the kiss was real too! Thinking about how she had actively wrapped her arms around his neck for a kiss made Ranita blush, her scalp tingling.

“Why is your face so red? Are you having a fever again?” Jedidiah saw her flushed cheeks and reached out. Ranita dodged slightly. “No! I just feel a bit hot.”

“Hot?” Jedidiah found the temperature just right!

“Yes, it’s a bit hot!” Ranita quickly said to change the subject. “I’m a bit hungry now. I’ll eat!”

Jedidiah was even more speechless, sarcastically laughing. “A single word from him works better than my half-day of persuasion!”

Ranita felt embarrassed.

“Jedidiah…” Ranita pouted playfully.

“Alright, alright, I won’t say anymore! Hurry up and eat!” Jedidiah couldn’t bear to look anymore and continued reading his emails.

Recently, Steland Monolith Technology’s business had encountered some troubles. Jedidiah was worried but didn’t want to tell Ranita, who was still recovering, to avoid making her anxious.

After her fever subsided, Ranita recovered quickly and was discharged the next day. But Ranita was forced to stay home to recuperate and wasn’t allowed to go anywhere.
