Chapter 934: Dispute
“Dad… do you think this is fair to me?”
As Chole finished her last sentence, Benedict fell into helpless silence. He felt guilty towards Chole, but he also genuinely loved Ranita.
“Chole…”
“Dad… don’t say any more grandiose words. I just want you and mom to favor me a bit more. Is that wrong?”
“I just hate Ranita! That will never change!” Chole admitted bluntly, “Yes, I forced her to leave when she got into college!”
Benedict looked at Chole with sorrowful eyes.
“Chole, can you listen to me?” Benedict sighed, “Ranita told me a long time ago that she wouldn’t take a penny from Bowman’s Mansion. She said she would earn everything on her own.”
“Everything in Bowman’s Mansion belongs to you and your brother.”
Seeing Chole’s angry expression, Benedict couldn’t help but speak, “As for what you said about her trying to kill you, it’s not what you think…”
“Dad! Are you still defending her?” Chole was on the verge of losing it. She thought that by speaking so directly, she could gain Benedict’s sympathy, but no, Benedict’s heart still favored Ranita.
Benedict, Alexia, and Jedidiah-all the people in Bowman’s Mansion-loved Ranita the most! Chole was really unwilling and dissatisfied.
Wasn’t she excellent? To become the qualified lady of Bowman’s Mansion in their eyes, she had put in a thousand times more effort, learning instruments she had never touched before, memorizing those difficult foreign languages.
But every time she took an exam, she still couldn’t surpass Ranita. The teachers always praised Ranita. Chole was just not convinced! If she had grown up in Bowman’s Mansion from the beginning, she definitely wouldn’t be living under the shadow of Ranita, this imposter.
Chole hated Ranita immensely.
“Chole!” Benedict saw her unwillingness to face the truth and slammed the table in anger. But he got too worked up; his face turned red as he struggled to catch his breath.
“Since we’ve come to this point, I’ll be clear. You can only choose one between Ranita and me! Who you choose is up to you!”
Chole ignored Benedict and ran out.
Ranita heard the door slam and came over worriedly, only to find Benedict clutching his chest and struggling to breathe. She was terrified.
“Dad!” Ranita supported Benedict, “I’ll take you to the hospital!”Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.
“Ranita… I’m sorry…” Benedict grasped her hand and managed to say, “It’s my fault.”
Benedict looked very unwell.
Ranita’s tears flowed uncontrollably, “Dad… don’t talk. I’ll take you to the hospital… someone help…”
Benedict was urgently taken to the hospital. He had already undergone major surgery, and now being agitated had landed him back in the hospital, straight into the emergency room.
Jedidiah rushed over and after understanding the situation, his hands trembled with anger.
“You stay here. I’ll call Chole!”
The call connected quickly. Jedidiah’s voice was hoarse with anger, “Chole, get to the hospital immediately!”
Chole had stormed out, unaware that Benedict had been hospitalized. She sneered, “Jedidiah, why are you so angry? Did Ranita complain to you?”
