Chapter 138 The Traitor's Daughter
Chapter 138 The Traitor's Daughter
Sarah didn't understand what Linda said, but she knew it wasn't anything good.
"What are you talking about Linda? It's you who is as crazy as a bat, not me!" Sarah exclaimed, her
voice dripping with anger. NôvelDrama.Org is the owner.
Linda couldn't help but laugh, "Look, you forget you're as crazy as a bat now."
Sarah was fuming. "Linda, how dare you insult me? Even if Charles always defends you, I can still
make you suffer." She replied, waging her finger in Linda's direction. Realizing she had been tricked,
Sarah was even more angrier. She was at an impasse and didn't know where to turn to.
"So, what do you want from me?" Linda took a sip of water and glanced at her.
Before she could answer, Bun laughed and interjected, "So, what? Lady Shen, do you want to continue
to be beaten or do you think two years at the Police School were not enough and you want to stay
longer?"
"Stop laughing. My grandfather wanted me to get some experience and toughen up, so I went to the
Police School. What does this have to do with you?" Although Sarah answered back, she actually
regretted coming over as she didn't know Linda and Bun were here.
Unable to keep up with them, Sarah was exasperated and looked at Brian, stamping her feet and
begging, resembling a small child throwing a tantrum, "Brother Brian, I'm your fiancée, are you just
going to sit there and listen to these two insult me?"
Brian waved his hand and said, "What? What do you mean I am engaged to you? That's news to me."
Hearing that, Sarah said in disbelief, "You don't know that we are engaged? But Brian, you've been at
home all this time, how don't you know?" "Well, that's it. I haven't been home. Just cut the crap and tell
me. What should I know? How are we engaged?"
Brian was losing his patience and felt that something was wrong: what did the Shen clan want?
Although scared by Brian's impatience, Sarah still managed to tell him the truth, "My grandfather and
yours agreed on our marriage last week." She said, fidgeting with her well-manicured nails.
"Didn't I tell you I didn't like you?
What the hell do you want me to do, Lady Shen?" Brian was confused and angry; a recipe for disaster.
"Don't like me?
Then why did you approach me? You said you loved me!" Sarah said with a sullen expression on her
face. "Come on, I was with you for only five days! How can I love someone, no less you, in 5 days? "
Brian retorted.
The words hurt Sarah deeply but she managed to defend herself "But I've fallen in love with you. what
should I do?"
Brian was speechless. He turned around and became increasingly angry, then he saw Bun lower her
head, a sullen look on her face too. Brian was tempted to reach out to her and wipe away the sad
expression but he couldn't. He needed to confirm Sarah's words. All he could say was, "Bun, I'll explain
this to you later."
"You don't have to explain, Master Brian." Bun replied, a flush of sadness spreading across her face.
Brian frowned and got up without a word, ignoring the pain on his back. He had to put a stop to this
nonsense.
"Master Brian, where are you going?
Stop and get back to the bed." Bun called out. "I need to talk to Grandfather about this so-called
engagement." Brian said, as he walked off.
Who in their right mind would think that Sarah would make a good wife? Brian thought. Brian went to
his grandfather as soon as he got back home. The old man was sitting in the living room and his
expression changed to one of anger when he saw Brian.
"What are you doing here?"
"Grandfather, what does the Shen clan want?" Brian knew his place, and even though he was angry,
he had to be respectful.
"What are you talking about?
You are a man now and it's time for you to get married. Sarah Shen is a good girl and has waited for
you for two years. So, I decided that you two will get married." So, this was it, a decision made without
considering how he felt. Brian stood up immediately, "Grandfather, the times have changed. I don't love
Sarah.
Why do you want to force me to marry a woman I don't love?" Lord Ho looked shocked "You don't love
her?
As far as I know, didn't you pursue Sarah first?" "I…" Brian tried to interject, but Lord Ho held up his
hand to stop him. Lord Ho continued "Listen son, a real man has responsibilities. You can't be a
playboy forever! In the past, you had many love affairs and I didn't stop you. I let you be. But do you
have any idea who Sarah is? Her grandfather was like a brother to me. We helped each other through
tough situations. How can you trick his granddaughter like that?" "I don't understand what you are
saying Grandfather. Your relationship with her grandfather has nothing to do with me marrying her. Just
because you are friends, doesn't mean I am obliged to marry her. Besides, I've only been with Sarah
for only five days and I have no interest in her whatsoever. I will never marry her. You have my word."
Brian threw respect out of the window and let his anger determine his thoughts and the words that were
coming out of his mouth.
"Don't you dare!" Lord Ho couldn't believe how Brian was acting. "What will you do Grandfather? Send
me to the army for a few more years? Believe me, I will go.
It's better than marrying that woman!" The old man's anger had reached a tipping point; pounding the
table in the process, "Do you think I don't know what's on your mind? You like that maid in Mu clan,
don't you?" Brian wasn't even surprised, Lord Ho had ways of getting information from whatever
sources he could.
"It's none of your business and she's not a maid! Bun's rank is much higher than Sarah's!" Brian
defended himself and his love. "No matter how much higher her rank is, the fact that she's the traitor's
daughter cannot be changed!" Lord Ho blurted out, infuriated with his grandson's choice.
