Chapter 646 Something Was Wrong
Christopher was speechless. Chloe's sarcastic tone made his skin crawl, but he still managed to retort, "What's the problem?" "Even a nobody could act better than you. And you have the nerve to ask me what's the problem?"
It severely wounded Christopher's pride. He frowned at Chloe. "Do you even know who my dad is? How dare you talk to me like that?" "Did your mom forget to tell you who your dad is? Why are you asking me?"
Chloe's patience was wearing thin.
"If you're not going to act, I'll go tell Beckett to replace you right now. But think carefully. This film has a shot at the Oscars, and your role is quite likable. If you want to hand the Best Actor opportunity to someone else, I won't stop you." Beckett's films were highly regarded in the industry, and almost every one of them was award-worthy.
It was Christopher's good fortune to be cast at such a young age. If he wanted to give it up now, Chloe couldn't care less.
Christopher hesitated at her words.
Every actor did dream of winning an award!
Chloe had told James early on that with Christopher's personality, he was bound to self-destruct in the entertainment world sooner or later. It was better to bow out early than drag Bright Moon Entertainment down with him.
In the worst-case scenario, she'd just have to apologize to the director and other actors one by one. It was not a big deal.
Christopher was speechless. It was the first time he'd met someone who didn't care who his father was.
"Think it over yourself," Chloe said, leaving his dressing room.
Once outside, she called James. "Who's his dad, anyway?"
"Could he really be someone important?
Had she really offended someone's son?"
James' tone was casual. "No one you need to worry about."
Chloe choked on her words. It suddenly dawned on her that as a member of the Miller family and Jioleek, there weren't many people more powerful than her!
Just as she hung up and was about to go back in to see Christopher, a man approached her.
Gideon looked at Chloe and nodded slightly. "You're with Bright Moon Entertainment, right?"
Chloe remembered Christopher had attacked Gideon, and she was there to clean up his mess. She needed to be polite.
She smiled and said, "Hello, Mr. Pierce. I know Christopher was wrong to attack you. On behalf of him and the company, I apologize. Bright Moon International will cover all your medical expenses."
She hadn't asked James about this, but he wasn't short on money. Paying for medical bills shouldn't be a problem.
"Shall we sit over there?"
Gideon nodded his chin towards the other bench. After a moment's hesitation, Chloe agreed.
She didn't know if Gideon was also a difficult person to deal with.
She just wanted to finish this quickly and go back to rest. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
"Mr. Pierce, my name is Chloe Nelson. I'm fully in charge of Christopher's matter. You can raise any conditions or requests, and I'll try my best to meet them."
Chloe didn't know much about the entertainment industry, but no matter what field, it was essential to stabilize the other party.
Gideon found her serious expression somewhat amusing.
"Ms. Nelson, are you afraid of me?"
Chloe was taken aback. "Mr. Pierce is a senior in the industry, of course I have to show respect."
Gideon's gaze drifted towards the lake in the distance. "Actually, Christopher isn't suitable for that role. Although it's the male lead, it's too different from his real personality." Chloe didn't expect him to say this to her, but she still nodded in agreement. "Mr. Pierce is right."
She also felt that Christopher wasn't suitable for this movie, or instead, wasn't appropriate to be in the entertainment industry.
"I won't make a big deal out of this incident. Conflicts on set are normal. But I hope you can persuade him. Giving up this movie is the right thing for him."
Before Gideon said this, Chloe had always thought he was okay. Although she didn't have any particular impression of him, at least he was an average person.
But as soon as he said this, she sensed something was wrong.
