#160 “Who the Lawyer was that They Kidnapped in Las Vegas?”

Sophia’s heart raced as she entered Evelyn’s apartment, her instincts screaming that something was terribly wrong. The silence was unsettling, and as she moved further in, her eyes widened in shock. There were signs of a break-in the door slightly ajar, belongings scattered.

She stopped dead in her tracks when her gaze fell upon the chair. The ropes, remnants of a forced restraint, sent shivers down her spine. Panic threatened to take hold, but Sophia fought to keep her composure. She needed to think clearly and act fast.

“Sophia, you gotta keep it together,” she whispered to herself, taking a deep breath.

She glanced around, assessing the situation. Her mind raced, and a decision formed. She needed information, and Kyle, with his mysterious connections, might hold the key. Swiftly, Sophia pulled out her phone and dialed Kyle’s number.

To her surprise, a robotic voice replied, “The number you’ve dialed is not in service. Please check the number and try again.”

Dread crept in, but Sophia refused to succumb to it. “No subscriber? That’s impossible,” she muttered, frowning at her phone.

With a determined glint in her eyes, Sophia decided to reach out to Sandro, Kyle’s cousin, who was her only hope of finding Kyle. She explained the situation hastily, emphasizing the urgency.

“Sandro, I need your help. Evelyn’s missing, and it’s not looking good. I think she stumbled onto something big, and we’re in deep trouble. I can’t get through to Kyle, and I need you to find out everything you can.”

Sandro, on the other end, absorbed the information. “Sophia, don’t worry. I’ll dig into this, find Kyle, and get back to you. Just be careful, okay?”

“Thanks, Sandro. We need to unravel this mess and find Evelyn. Keep me posted.”

As the call ended, Sophia felt a mix of anxiety and determination. The search for answers had just begun, and she was ready to dive into the dangerous unknown to save her friend.

After hanging up, Sandro found himself puzzled. The thought crossed his mind that Evelyn and Sophia always seemed to find trouble.

Sandro dialed Kyle’s number, a trace of concern in his expression, and received the same message as Sophie robotic voice declaring that the subscriber with that number did not exist. A heavy sigh escaped him, signaling the gravity of the situation. a cold

Feeling a sense of urgency, Sandro knew he had to reach out to the people in the underworld, for they held the keys to the answers he sought regarding Kyle’s mysterious disappearance.

“Sandro,” a familiar voice echoed through the phone – Alberto, one of the seasoned figures in the mafia, greeted him.

“Alberto, it’s been years,” Sandro acknowledged.

“Indeed. I heard you’ve been entangled with a mafia group from the countryside, dealing with some lawyer. Going back to the old ways?” Alberto inquired.

“No, Alberto, it’s about my cousin,” Sandro explained. “Have you heard anything about him?”

“The word on the street is that he’s returned home. Unlike you, he’s in business,” Alberto replied cryptically.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Sandro sighed in frustration, a mix of annoyance and concern etched on his face.

“Can you get me a number to reach him?” Sandro requested, understanding that connections were crucial in their world.

“Of course, Sandro, but I have a favor to ask in return.”

Sandro chuckled, a wry smile forming. ” Nothing is ever free with you. Go ahead, Alberto, ask away.”

“I’m wondering who the lawyer was that they kidnapped in Las Vegas, as far as I know, they blackmailed you with her?”

“Yes, my employee made the wrong choice to get me into trouble. Still, why do you care?”

“I heard she was good at her job. What can you tell me about her.”

“Her name is Sophia Johnson,” Sandro replied. “If you need a lawyer to get you out of trouble, she’s not the person for you. She only does corporate work and clean work. She’s the daughter of a judge, but her grandfather is Christopher Johnson. Besides, her career is very impressive…”

“Thanks, that’s what I needed,” Alberto cut in.

Sandro, suspicious, asked, “Why do you ask then?”

“Nothing important, just looking for a guy. That’s all you need to know if you’re not going back to business,” Alberto replied cryptically.

A frown creased Sandro’s forehead as a terrible feeling washed over him, realizing he might have revealed more than he intended.

“I’ll wait for Kyle’s number.”

“Of course. See you soon,” Alberto said, leaving Sandro with a lingering sense of uncertainty about the web of intrigue that seemed to be entangling those close to Kyle and Sophia.

Alberto hung up the phone, his eyes narrowing as he gazed into the distance. A calculating grin played on his lips as he turned to the person standing next to him, a trusted associate in the shadowy world of the mafia.

“That, my friend, was the girl we’ve been looking for,” Alberto whispered with a conspiratorial air.

His associate raised an eyebrow, curiosity flickering in his eyes. “You found her? What’s the plan?”

Alberto’s gaze remained fixed on the city skyline, a chessboard of lights in the gathering dusk. “We need to locate her. Get her address. I plan to pay her a little visit soon.”
