Chapter 9: A Slap
Chapter 9: A Slap
Roland walked over to the side of the bed, ignoring Alvera.
"How are you today?" he asked.
"I'm fine. Alvera, say hello. This is Mr. Francois of the Empire Group," Andrina answered.
Alvera turned to look at Roland with a bright smile.
Andrina clenched her fists tightly when she saw her smile. "What a sl*t," she thought.
Roland glanced at Alvera coldly and asked, "Where is the liver donor? Did you bring her here?"
"I did. She's ready for the pre-operative examination anytime," she replied.
Andrina was surprised by their conversation. "Roland, do you know Alvera?"
Alvera smiled. "Andrina, since we grew up together and you regard me as your sister, I'll tell you the
truth. Mr. Francois here is my..."
Roland interrupted her before she could finish. "Come with me and bring the donor for the admission
procedure."
...
Alvera turned and looked at him with a raised eyebrow as he headed towards the door without waiting
for her reply.
...
Smiling faintly, Alvera followed him out.
Andrina sat on the bed, still surprised. "Mum, Why do I feel that they know each other?"
Luna gritted her teeth and scowled at Thomas. "Look at that b*stard you had with that sl*t. She's trying
to set up my daughter."
"Nonsense, we don't know what happened yet. I trust Mr. Francois. He has been very good to Andrina
these years."
Andrina nodded. "You're right, there must have been some misunderstanding. Roland is not that kind of
person."
Alvera stood behind Roland at the elevator doors.
...
He turned around and asked coldly, "What were you going to say just now?"
"You can't keep our marriage hidden from my dear sister forever, can you?" she replied nonchalantly.
"You've stole her man, and you're proud of it?"
"I did, I stole her man," Alvera said viciously with a smile.
"I can see now why Mr. Earhart always said that you were an ungrateful b*stard." Roland sneered. "You
are ungrateful."
"Ungrateful? He still thinks quite highly of me, then. I thought he would tell you that he raised an
ungrateful dog," Alvera retorted.
Roland didn't want to argue with her. "Where is the person you brought?"
"She's standing right in front of you."
"You?" he asked.
"Do you really not know, or are you just pretending? Who else could it be?" she replied.
"You have the Rh-negative blood type too?"
Alvera smiled. "We're already at the hospital if you want me to take a blood test."
Roland looked at her thoughtfully. He had a feeling that something was wrong.
What were the chances that the unwanted child raised by the Earhart family had the same Rh-negative
blood type as Andrina?
After completing the admission procedure, Alvera went through several examinations alone under the
guidance of a nurse.
After all the examinations, she returned to her ward to find that Thomas was also there. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
She was paused at the door for a moment. "What can I do for you, Mr. Earhart?"
"Do you know Mr. Francois?" he asked.
Alvera walked across the room and sat down on the bed. "Yes, I do."
...
"What kind of relationship do you have with him?" he asked.
"The scandalous type you think we have," she replied.
"You... didn't you know he's in a relationship with your sister?"
"Sister? My mother only gave birth to me. I don't have a sister."
"Alvera, Roland is Andrina's boyfriend."
Alvera's face turned cold. "Not anymore."
"You..." Thomas started.
"Mr. Earhart, did you forget, I told you that I would be giving you a huge present," Alvera interrupted.
Hearing this, Thomas slapped Alvera in the face.
Alvera was caught off guard by the slap. She stared at the ground blankly, holding her cheek.
After a while, she raised her head and looked at him haughtily.
"You b*tch, there are so many men in the world. Why did you choose to seduce Roland?" Thomas
asked angrily.
