Chapter 181

Chapter 181 The gold medalist figure skater

I straightened up, then I was back at the present. I waved to the people with a broad smile on my face. It was still hard to believe I did it. I bowed around and I skated to the gate. Beth hugged me tight, followed by Gareth. My whole coach applauded for me and they hugged me together. When I freed myself, I could see the other group, my family. They also hugged and congratulated me,

We sat down together, waiting to see my scores. I was excited even though I knew they ranked me as first. Only two competitors left to perform, but even if they would get the maximum scores for their free program, they could not push me behind them.

Beth and Gareth sat next to me, and they held my hand. I could feel Gideon's hand on one of my shoulders, and Ava's hand on my other side.

Gideon gripped my shoulder gently, then everyone congratulated me happily again.

When they announced my scores, I could feel GiderAll content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

When we left, another person awaited me. I hugged him tightly.

"Congrats Alice." He said while grinning.

"Thank you Lucas. You can be proud as well."

He smiled while he let me go.

"As a

a silver medalist, I don't have the right to cry in happiness, but maybe next time."

I looked at him while frowned.

Do you continue?

He smiled.

"I need an Olympic gold medal as well. That isn't fair you have on and I have none."

We chuckled at the same time..

"How

could help me, by the way." He stated.

"We trained together, and I'm sure you remember..."

I looked at the ground with a smile, then looked back at him.

"You mean we could perform together at the gala?

"Yeap, I exactly meant that. This is a great way to pay me back the lot of training since we were little." He smiled.

"Nah.., I am rich, you see? How much do you want?" I asked him, but we both knew that was all

"My help hasn't got a price, that worth more than any laughing.

"I'm in, but we need to practice, then." I said.

"Cool What about tomorrow morning?

"okay"

He smiled.

"Great, then see you tomorrow."

I waved to him, then I walked back to the others,

""What did he

Gideon asked me weirdly.

"We are going to perform together in the gala. We start training tomorrow morning."

He looked at me and frowned.

"I thought we were going to celebrate tonight."

*Gideon, I'm still going to perform at the gala, and I don't want to make them believe the gold medal doesn't belong to me."

"You won it, Alice. What else do you want?" He fr

He frowned and this time I did not like his behaviour at all.

I lowered my head. I did not know how to make him understand this.

"Gideon, in a week's time it will be a good memory for me, then it's going to be my job only. The only thing that I ask is, please let me enjoy this."

He chuckled, but not happily.

ar gazes met again. "I'll let you enjoy being with him. Don't worry. Make some nice memories, Alice."

"Yeah." And he looked behind me, before our

I wanted to answer him, as his words hurt me as hell, but I couldn't, as the reporters were all around me. They asked me a hundred questions as soon as they reached me. I knew just then he had waited with his last sentence in purpose, as he saw them coming from behind me. They surrounded me in a minute, and I stuck with them After a few questions, I forgot about this little conversation between Gideon and I.

The

ceremony was not long at all, but I honestly never felt happier when I bent down from the highest place on the podium to receive the gold medal. And I was certain about in the future, if I smell roses, probably the huge bunch of flowers would be on my mind that I got beside the medal.

I felt thrilled, but Gideon's mood did not change later. He just didn't talk to me. I told the whole family I was going to perform with Lucas, and they were all happy to see me skate in a pair. Only Gideon hated it.

When it was time for me to get to bed, I apologised to them. I looked at Gideon; he looked at me seriously.

"I'm staying." He said coldly.

I lowered my head. It hurt, but I kept telling myself, I will not let him ruin the best part of my life.

I nodded, then I left him.

I couldn't understand him. He knew how much I loved him. After all that we went through; I was expecting him to be happy with me in the best time of my life. I wanted to share each moment of the moments my childhood dreams came true. But instead of that, he played the jealous partner.

Okay, I was jealous as well, but Lucas was different. He was my childhood friend who I grew up with. He was not just a guy who I got to know at the event and I wanted to know from closer.

I sighed. I hoped the others noticed nothing about our cold behaviour towards each other. Now that the two families came together, the least that I wanted was them to argue because of us.

I sighed as I leaned against the lift wall. I was thinking of telling Lucas I have changed my mind, then thank Gideon for his love and support towards me, but then I just thought, why should I do that? Actually, it is only him who thinks I do something wrong. I hoped if he stays alone he would think about this, and finally, he would discover he was wrong, and not me.
