And The Daddy Is… The Infertile Guy?!

Chapter 143

Chapter 143

“Gwendolyn, you…” Polly was shaking with anger, “Don’t listen to her threats, everyone. Practicing medicine without a license is a crime here. No CEO of a big shot firm like Summit Corp would marry a woman with a rap sheet.”

They were convinced Gwendolyn was going to do time.

“No way, it can’t be.”

“She’s bluffing, using Howard’s power.”

“If I were the CEO of Summit Corp, I wouldn’t touch her with a ten–foot pole.”

They had all been cowed by Gwendolyn’s earlier assertiveness, with some even contemplating sneaking away to avoid her wrath.

Even the reporters had discreetly put down their cameras, not daring to keep filming.

Polly’s words had snapped them back to reality.

“Hey.”

Nathan couldn’t keep quiet, a laugh escaping him, “All this speculation, why don’t you ask the person in question, huh?”

His laughter was cocky, full of swagger.

As they turned, they saw him, and right beside him, Howard.

Howard’s gaze was icy, piercing.

“Howard.”

“That’s Howard.”

Panic spread across their faces. They huddled closer to the edges, trying to make themselves scarce, whispering amongst themselves.

Nathan wheeled Howard forward, “You lot are hilarious, talking about Gwendolyn throwing her–weight around, but here you are, bullies who cower at the real deal.”

Howard’s expression was dark, his indifference palpable as he said, “Seems like my personal affairs have become a

c concern.”

“Nathan, make sure they delete everything they’ve recorded before they leave.”

“Got it.”

“This is your show now.”

Taking control of his own wheelchair, Howard advanced and took hold of Gwendolyn’s

wrist. “Let’s go inside.” His tone brooked no argument.

11:30

Okay, Gwendolyn obediently followed by his side.

Nathan rolled up his sleeves, instructing the security to show no mercy, forcibly erasing all the photos and videos they had taken.

His gaze then fell on the stirred–up relatives of the patients and Bill’s parents.

“Bill’s been arrested for suspected kidnapping. The police will issue a statement soon. If you’re looking for him, go to the police station.”

He said with a smirk, “And for you dimwits who believe anything you’re told and let yourselves be used, digging up your info is a piece of cake for me. After the Bayridge

Hospital press conference, I expect you to apologize to Gwendolyn. If you don’t show, I’ll make sure to knock on your door.”

They were too angry to speak up.

He then glanced at Mack and Polly, the hidden chill in his eyes made them shiver.

“All of you will get what’s coming for you.”

Silenced, they dared not respond further. From NôvelDrama.Org.

Inside the hospital room.

Howard sat in his wheelchair, pulling out a set of cotton pajamas from the wardrobe and placing them in front of Gwendolyn.

“You’re soaked. Change into these.” Saying, he extended his fingers to the buttons at her neckline.

“Mr. Chadwick.” Gwendolyn’s cheeks reddened, “I can change myself.”

Howard glanced at her hands wrapped in bandages and asked, “Can you manage the

buttons?”

Gwendolyn bit her lip. She couldn’t.

“Sit still. Don’t move.” His tone carried a hint of command.

Gwendolyn sat on the edge of the bed, hands at her sides, her gaze darting away.

Then Howard unbuttoned her shirt.

Her eyes were tightly shut, heightening the sensation of his touch. His fingertips were warm, occasionally brushing against her skin.

Howard watched her carefully, his eyes devoid of desire.

“All done.”

Only then did Gwendolyn open her eyes.

The thought of him undressing her flushed her with embarrassment.

Her gaze fell on his legs, and in the privacy of the room, she ventured, “Mr. Chadwick, we’re alone now. You can stand up.”

Howard’s fingers paused, lingering on the tactile memory.
