Chapter 195
Chapter 195
Selina spoke in a hushed tone, her words falling slowly. “Ever since the crash, Ive been stuck with this issue. Can’t seem to shake it! Dr Quigley, you know fm a ballerina, right? This affects my eneer big time *
“When was the accident, if you don’t mind me asking? Gwendolyn had her suspicions
“Just three months ago. Selina replied softly. “Didn’t Howie mention it to you? We were both in the accident”
Gwendolyn could scarcely recall Howard mentioning any accident, and it was a rare occasion to hear the Hamilton family’s name at the
mansion.
Tm not quite in the loop on that,” Gwendolyn admitted frankly, “You might want to check with mental health services or a neurologist. rather than the Rehabilitation Department. Issues like yours are often more psychological.”
“Really? I thought Dr. Quigley might have a different approach.”
Selina seemed a touch disheartened. “Well then, I won’t trouble you
Her visit was merely a test of the waters.
Gwendolyn watched as she rose, every movement graceful even in departure.
A complex emotion stirred within Gwendolyn. She had thought Mr. Chadwick’s online searches were for his sake, not realizing he had Selina in mind at that moment
She was an unexpected interloper, unaware of the extent of his past entanglements, the vibrancy of his life, or how he used to get with his buddies.
They entertained her presence because of her association with Howard.
But with Selina, their rapport
twas genuine and fond.
“Next, please.” Gwendolyn pressed the call button.
Selina left with a trace of a smile, passing by Jeannie, who shot her a fierce glare.
Selina seemned unfazed, almost nonchalant.
“Jeannie, we’re not enemies. There was a time when we could have been families, and we got along fine back then.”
Jeannie snapped back, “That’s impossible now. I’ve got Gwendolyn,”
Selina just offered a kindly smile before stepping out.
“Ms. Hamilton.” The chauffeur hastened to open the car door for her.
“Take me to Summit Corp, Selina said softly.
It was time for a visit.
“Sure.” The chauffeur closed the door after her and set the course for Summit Corp. Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
Selina adjusted her skirt and touched up her makeup lightly before stepping out of the car. She approached the reception, speaking gently. “I’m here to see Quentin, We had an appointment”
The receptionist lit up her eyes with excitement, “Are you Selina?”
She nodded slightly
“I’m a huge fan. I’ll call Quentin right away.”
The receptionist eagerly phoned Quentin, who appeared promptly, greeting her respectfully. “Ms. Hamilton, welcome.”
“Quentin, it’s been a while,” Selina greeted warmly, “I hope coming to you isn’t an inconvenience?”
Selina was well–acquainted with Howard’s circle. Quentin, her senior from college, had been working for Howard since graduation. Now his right hand man, Selina hadn’t expected her casual act of kindness back then to play in her favor at a crucial time.
With Quentin’s help, Howard couldn’t just easily brush her off.
“Not at all.” replied Quentin.
“But you’re still keeping secrets from me.”
