Chapter 1523 Nonsensical
Chapter 1523 Nonsensical
Lilly knew how to leave this place!
It was actually staring right at her. One had to return where one had come from. Since she was
dragged into this nightmare when she was unconscious in the Nether, all she had to do to shatter the
illusion was to return to square one.
She had managed to get her hands on her dad.
The second stop should be the Crawford family.
If that were the case, the third stop should be the Ruler of Hell Palace.
So, once she managed to return to the Nether, she would be able to wake up in the real world.
Alas, she was far too weak now. Yet, she had to return to the Nether. Was the Manifestation of God's
will forcing her to cultivate again?
The road ahead was riddled with potholes and an assortment of deadly traps. Nonetheless, Lilly firmly
believed that it wouldn't take her long to teach this illusion a lesson!
There seemed to be a set of rules guiding the time and events in this dream. As long as she could
learn what they were, she could jump to the next stage.
She had to go to the Nether and return to the real world!
"Let's go! Give me strength!"
Lilly pushed the mop and ran around the house enthusiastically, vigorously mopping the floor!
Blake tilted his head in confusion.
What's wrong with this girl? Why is she getting all excited about mopping the floor? Still, she's really
happy. Maybe she likes to mop?
Blake furrowed his brows as he thought of the likeliest possibility of her acting so odd. There was a
chance she was putting so much effort into doing chores because she was living under someone else's
roof. So, she needed to keep herself busy as a way to prove that she was worth keeping.
Oh, you know what? Forget it. At least she's having fun.
When Blake noticed that she was still puttering about, he decided to open his computer and work.
He still had a lot of things to deal with. So, eventually, his attention was fully on finishing his job.
"Dad! Do these smelly socks need to be washed?" Lilly poked her head out of the bathroom.
Blake was still dealing with computer affairs. So, he didn't even raise his head as he replied, "You don't
have to... I'll wash them myself!"
Lilly rummaged under the bed again as she hollered, "Then, does this need to be washed?"
Blake instinctively turned his head to look. He was about to say no when he saw what she was holding
in her hand. His face immediately changed as he snatched the underwear from her, blustering in
embarrassment, "No."
He had been looking for that particular item for a long time and couldn't find it anywhere. It seemed that
it had somehow fallen under the bed.
Lilly tilted her head. Her eyes were shining in glee as she commented, "So, Dad has a messy side too!"
Blake simply took the socks and pants to wash. Of course, he answered as he left, "Nonsense. This is
a rare mistake. I've been too busy lately..."
Lilly looked around. She immediately believed her when she saw the clean and tidy room, which faintly
smelled of soap.
"Why have you been so busy lately?" she blurted in confusion. Suddenly, she realized that something
was amiss.
Hang on. Dad isn't a policeman. He's a soldier!
How could he be leading a team of cops in South City?
This was just another one of the illusion's terrible plot holes!
Lilly thought things through carefully. She suddenly recalled that the teacher was going to send her to
school when she was in the orphanage. Although there was nothing wrong with that, there was a
mistake.
The teacher addressed her as 'Lilly Crawford'!
How didn't she notice such a glaring mistake back then?
How could she be called 'Lilly Crawford' when she was at the orphanage?!
Suddenly, there was a buzzing sound in her ear, causing her to stumble.
"Lilly!" Blake shouted in shock.
…
"Lilly? Lilly!" The voice in her ear came again.
Lilly opened her eyes sleepily.
Why was she back here again?
Wait a minute. This familiar pink-and-white color scheme… Could it be?
The door swung open as Bettany walked in. The older woman's face brightened when she saw that
Lilly was awake.
"Lilly, you're up!" She quickly placed the Danish pastry aside and touched Lilly's little face with
concern., "Are you hungry?"
"Grandma."
Lilly was stunned. Why was she here?!
Memories flashed through her mind.
It seemed that a year had passed.
Since she discovered her teacher's mistake when referring to her, the 'director' fast-forwarded the plot
before she could bungle it up.
After she stayed with Dad for a while, she would cross half of Dudroinia to seek out the Crawford family
every single time her memories of her family would start to fade.
The Crawford family was so moved by her determination that they officially adopted her.
Then, they named her Lilly Crawford.
Lilly was so done with this illusion at this point.
She made a contemptuous gesture at the owner of this illusion in her heart.
You're truly a terrible director, illusion owner!
You forcibly speed up the clock because you're unable to fill the loopholes you made? Talk about hasty!
Nevertheless, this also meant that she was getting closer and closer to her goal.
Next, she had to see a ghost—
Nope. Hold that thought. She had to go to the Ruler of Hell Palace, which meant she had to awaken
the skill etched in her body. Hence, the first step to that goal was to unlock her third eye.
Lilly's mind raced full speed as she tried to recall the basics. Alas, her memory was starting to get
dangerously hazy on the details. Therefore, it took her almost three days and three nights just to
remember she had a Master. Hang on. What did he say I had to do to unlock my third eye?
Frankly, the nonsense she managed to piece together sounded like some sort of fairytale nonsense.
'Sink your spirit into your elixir field. Focus your spirit sense between your eyes. Tighten your core
and… let it rip!'
Sure enough, she did exactly that.
Lilly had an inexplicable feeling that someone was snickering at her plight. It sounded like her Master.
Sadly, she was very much alone.
Besides, there was a high chance she wouldn't bump into her Master in this nightmare world.
She also noticed that her progress wasn't as smooth sailing as it should be.
Thus, she practiced that particular skill over and over again. Toward the end, she was relying entirely
on sheer willpower alone. Fortunately, her hard work paid off. As a full 49 days passed with her
tirelessly slaving herself to awaken her third eye, she finally felt an unusual aura infusing into her eyes
during her last recitation of the incantation!
"Sink your spirit into your elixir field. Focus your spirit sense between your eyes!"
Lilly snapped her eyes open in response. The second she did, she noticed the world before her was
vastly different from the mundane world she was viewing these past few days!
She pulled it off!
Only then did she understand that the correct incantation was just the first two sentences. Once she
could fully understand the deeper meaning held within those sentences, she would naturally gain her
third eye.
"D*mn it. Master was indeed messing with me!"
Still, she couldn't help but chuckle in amusement as she thought of the nonsensical incantation her
Master had taught her.
"One item off the list. What's the next one? Oh, I need some ghosts of my own. Although I'm not sure if
this is the correct way, I might as well wing it and procure one before experimenting with other NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
avenues."
She wasn't about to take any unnecessary risk, especially when she wasn't all that powerful. Honestly,
she didn't doubt she'd be mocked by most of the powerful ghosts if they could see her now.
So, the first ghost she could ensnare would most probably be some ordinary woeful ghost.
"Lilly, dinner's ready," Bettany called from the living room.
"Coming!" Lilly exclaimed cheerfully as she hurried down the stairs. Then, she used her limbs to climb
onto the stool to make up for her lack of height before sitting gracefully.
Just then, the door swung open as a person sauntered into the area.
