Chapter 505 Moore, What Do You Think
Chapter 505 Moore, What Do You Think
Zed removed his hands from Jean's body and smoothened his clothes. After hand-combing his
dishevelled hair, he got up to open the door.
"Moore?" Zed was slightly surprised to see him standing outside the door.
"It's time for lunch. Would you like to join us?" Moore asked with a smile.
"Yeah. Of course." Jean heard that it was Moore. She too, had groomed herself to not give any hint of
what she and Zed has been up to. She walked over gaily to them and said,"I'm hungry."
"Let's go and have a big lunch. I can't let my two babies starve." Zed caressed Jean's head as he said
in an indulgent tone.
Jean suddenly blushed. She glared at Zed unhappily and said,"Zed, be careful about how you behave
in front of others. I don't want everyone to know about my pregnancy. That's not fun."
"Fun?" Zed shrugged his shoulders and gave her a half-embarassed grin. Later, he closed the door,
took Jean's hand in his and started walking towards the restaurant with Moore.
"Yeah. We are here for fun. I hope everybody has a good time. But if they get to know that I'm
pregnant, they won't be able to enjoy themselves carefree. Rather, most will start fussing over me,
which is neither fun for me nor for the others," Jean explained to Zed.
"I understand what you mean. I just hope you can take care of yourself at all times. And you're not
allowed to drink alcohol," Zed exhorted.
"Alright. I know." Jean felt slightly impatient. She shook off Zed's hand and walked into the elevator.
A tinge of helplessness crossed Zed's concerned face. He winced in pain and said to Moore,"I am just
like a mother hovering over her child and cold-shouldered then."
Moore didn't agree with him. He shook his head and said,"Think about it in the best way possible. This
will be a special secret between you two. You have no idea how envious those people will get if they
ever got to know."
Moore's words made Zed feel better.
Zed looked at Jean tenderly. Jean felt him thaw in his behaviour, and asked Moore,"What did you say
to him? He looks strange. What are you up to?"
"I didn't say anything." Moore answered feigning innocence.
Jean wouldn't believe him at all. She felt jealous of Zed since Moore had spoken for him on several
occassions by now. Stung by envy she finally complained,"Whose friend are you? Which side are you
on?"
"I stand on neither side. I help neither of you." Moore expressed this in a neutral tone.
"You..." Jean was really piqued by now,"Are we friends or not?"
"Of course we are." Moore nodded and went on,"But I won't get involved in the business of you two."
He didn't want to make a mess for himself.
"Moore, I'm pregnant. Are you really hardhearted enough to let Zed bully me?" Jean looked at Moore
piteously and asked.
"You can be assured that he will never bully you. If that day ever comes, I'm definitely on your side."
Moore knew that Jean was pretending to be forlorn. Still, he tried to comforted her.
Jean's furrowed eyebrows soon gave way to a broad smile as she said,"I know I'm in favor with you."
Moore gave a helpless look to Zed, 'I have no choice. I must say so. I'm forced to do it.'
Zed nodded to show his understanding and sympathy for Moore.
Moore felt even more helpless when he saw the sympathetic look from Zed.
The elevator stopped on the fourth floor. As they walked into a breezy garden-themed restaurant, they
saw Maranda, Ron, Calvin and the others seated at a round table. Most of them were chit-chatting
merrily.
"Jean, here!" Maranda waved her arm to catch Jean's attention. Clearly, Maranda's excitement from
before had hardly abated.
"All of you have come so early." Jean was surprised to see that everybody was already here. In fact,
they looked as if they had been waiting for a long time. "We're late. I'm really sorry."
"We'll forgive you if you have a few drinks with us later."
One of them suggested.
"I agree. It's a rare chance to get together with the famous Mr. Qi. I suggest that everyone propose a
toast to him once we start lunch." Another man echoed.
'It seems that Zed will be drunk today.
This won't do. How will he deal with so many people?' Jean thought to herself.
"Don't go too far. Just two or three drinks will be OK."
Maranda said before Jean could utter anything.
"Yeah! Help yourselves with lunch, and then we can set off for fun. Let's go easy on the alcohol." Ron
echoed Maranda's view.
"Well..." A wave of disappointment rode on many people's faces.
"How about this? Today we climb the mountain first and then we'll have a good drinking session with
Zed," Calvin tried to comfort them and said.
"Alright. No one is allowed to go home until fully drunk." Everybody cheered at this again.
Jean looked at Zed biting her nails. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
As Jean was getting worried about alcohol, Zed was growing anxious because of another thing. He
looked at Calvin, grim-faced,"What did you just say? Climbing?"
"Yeah! Behind this holiday village was the most famous mountain in H City. We plan to start after lunch,
so that we can reach the top of the mountain by the evening, and witness the most beautiful sunset of
H City. I bet you and Jean have never seen such a beautiful sunset before." Calvin smiled at Zed as he
explained all this to him.
Zed looked at Calvin with a dead-serious look. Calvin's bright smile struck Zed a tad uneasy.
Jean held Zed's hand and nodded slightly to him.
Zed got the message from this.
He wanted to refuse the activity of climbing. That was too much for a pregnant woman.
And Moore had hardly healed to his full strength yet.
Regardless of Jean's imploring eyes, Zed said to Ron and Maranda,"sorry, I'm afraid that we can't go
with you."
"Why?" Maranda asked in astonishment.
Jean didn't say anything and looked down at her shoes.
"Moore has just been discharged from the hospital. He still hasn't healed completely and has been
advised against undertaking any strenuous exercise. And Jean, you know that Maranda, is not very
well too,"
Zed explained.
Someone tittered before he had finished his words.
"Mr. Qi, you worry too much."
A young man smiled at Zed and went on,"It's just a small hill of a few hundred meters. We won't spend
much time or energy on it. The road to the top of the hill is well-constructed. If we climb it as we chat,
it'll hardly be tiring."
By this time, Jean delightedly looked up at Zed.
Zed saw her desperate eyes and exhaled deeply.
He turned to Moore standing next to them and said,"Moore, what do you think?"
Moore felt the dilemma that very moment. Obviously Zed had thrown him a googly. But he himself was
not too sure.
They didn't want to announce their pregnancy yet.
But he could see that Jean was eager to go about climbing. Besides, they had been told that the
mountain was not high and the road was very good.
So he nodded and said,"Let's go! If there is something wrong, then we can always turn back."
Jean was so excited. She looked at Moore as if he were her lifesaver.
'Hope everything is fine up there.' Moore thought to himself.
Zed finally agreed. He wanted Jean to be happy. So he nodded and said,"Okay then. But if there is
anything wrong with them, we will come back at once. And you guys can continue your
fun."
