Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 116

Knowing that the "as usual" he mentioned would allow her to live in her mother's house, Alicia batted her long eyelashes and felt a surge of happiness in her. She couldn't help but grin, enjoying the feeling of being loved.

"I did not, did I?" Was she disobedient?

He didn't dare to agree with her, thus he just touched her nose and raised her chin. Frederick lowered his head to give her a lingering kiss.

"I like obedient women!"

"Alright!"

The two figures intertwined as they were like a pair of lovers who didn't want to let go of each other.

They lay on the bed while cuddling, enjoying each other's presence, and didn't fall asleep until midnight.

The next day, Alicia got up early on purpose to prepare a scrumptious breakfast for Frederick.

After having breakfast, she sent him off at the doorand helped him to fix his coat meticulously. At that moment, she was just like a perfect, loving wife.

"Hubby, please come back safely. Be careful!"

It was just a simple sentence, but it warmed Frederick's heart. It was a common thing for him to go on a business trip, but it was his first time having someone who cared deeply about him.

Although he had always hated women, in reality, there was no one that was more interested and eager to have a family than him!

An indelible memory was carved in Frederick's heart this time. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

He hooked his muscular arms around her waist, then lowered his head to peck on her lips. Then, he walked out of the door.

As soon as Frederick left, Alicia instinctively felt relaxed. After work, she headed back to her mother's house without forgetting to send a message to Frederick to ask about him.

Knowing that he had arrived safely and everything had gone smoothly, she demanded him to take care of himself. She even ordered him to always update her about his whereabouts. Then, she quickly ended their call.

On the other end of the line, Frederick, who was feeling exhausted, was holding his phone in his hand. His exhaustion seemed to have been dissipated after this phone call. He had been in a daze while gazing at the selfies of Alicia and her mother, as well as the butterfly earring she was wearing. He subconsciously brought his hand to the screen, trying to touch her beautiful face.

A week had passed in the blink of an eye. Alicia was free, thus she decided to give Frederick a call to report the current situation of his grandmother. As he was out, they ended the call after exchanging a few words. Even though they were far apart, their hearts were still close together.

Putting the phone away, Alicia lay down to rest. Whereas for Frederick, he headed towards a jewelry store that was still open. He chose a pair of glamorous flower earrings with a pear- shaped diamond pendant.

The sun was rising, and it was yet another beautiful day.

As soon as Alicia entered the office building, she received a call from Miranda.

"What? Grandma is ill? Which hospital? I'll be there right away!" When she visited Mrs. Clements two days before, she was still fine.

Knowing that Frederick cared about his grandmother the most, Alicia took a leave from work and went straight to the hospital while trying to contact Frederick.

It wasn't until she had arrived at the hospital that Alicia got to know that Mrs. Clements had diarrhea and vomited profusely. She even fainted when she arrived at the hospital.

As Frederick's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clements, were attending an event, and Frederick's uncle and his family were abroad for vacation a few days, Miranda didn't know who to contact. Mrs. Clements didn't want to let Frederick know about it, therefore Miranda ended up contacting Alicia and Hallie.

"Why did she get a stomach ache all of a sudden? I thought she was fine?"

Alicia waited anxiously for the results of the checkup as she was worried sick about Mrs. Clements. She treated her nicely and was very kind to her, thus Alicia was fond of her.

As they were waiting anxiously, the door of the emergency room opened and a doctor came out.

"There is a tumor in the patient's stomach. It is unknown whether it is harmful or not, but it seems like it already has signs of bursting. Thus, we must remove it immediately. Moreover, the patient is old and she has the symptoms of gastroenteritis. We can't delay the operation any further. Otherwise, it would be life-threatening. Who is her family member here? Please make a decision right now! However, the surgery may be risky and a little dangerous!"

Alicia and Miranda looked at each other and were dumbfounded. How could they make such an important decision?

Picking up the phone, Miranda made call after call, but she couldn't reach anyone.

Alicia also made a phone call to Frederick but his phone was turned off.

At this time, one of the nurses shouted hurriedly, "Doctor, the patient's pulse is slowing down-"

"Start the emergency treatment right away. Right now!"

In a hurry, Alicia grabbed the contract and spoke, "I'll sign it! Doctor, just do the operation! Please, please save my grandma!"

"Miss Blanchard?" Looking up, Miranda was feeling distressed.

This matter was a very serious one!

"Miranda, we can't consider too much! Grandma's life is more important! I'll take responsibility!"

While they were talking, Carson was leading a group of professionals over. When he acknowledged what was happening, he nodded at Alicia to greet her.

"Doctor Vives—"

When Alicia saw him, it was as if a hero had arrived. She grabbed his sleeve tightly and her eyes turned red as tears were trying to escape from her eyes. "Please save my grandmother! You must treat her!"

"Don't worry! I'll try my best!"

Pushing her aside, Carson asked as he walked in, "What's going on?"

Right after, the sound coming from the closing of the operating theatre's heavy doors could be heard. The scarlet light of the emergency operating theatre was turned on.

An hour later, the door of the operating theatre finally opened.

Alicia rushed forward in no time without saying anything and her heart stopped for a split second. She parted her lips nervously but no words could come out of her mouth. Miranda then took the initiative to speak.

"Doctor, how is Mrs. Clements?"

Carson signaled the nurse to push the patient into the ward. Then, he took off his mask and explained it to them.

"The operation went well and it was successful! Fortunately, the tumor was benign and it did not spread! Luckily, the patient's health is in a good state. The wound is not too big, hence you can rest assured! The patient will wake up eventually after a while. You can visit her later, but you can't stay with her too long as the patient needs to rest!"

"Okay! Thank you, Master Vives..."

With tears in her eyes, Alicia nodded continuously yet she still could not say anything for a moment. Perhaps, she felt uneasy being in a hospital, or it was because of this experience that made her feel like she had fought a battle. At that moment, she was overjoyed but she felt a little weak.

In the end, Miranda had to support her while the two of them went to visit Mrs. Clements.

When Mrs. Clements opened her eyes, only Miranda was by her side. Miranda comforted her and explained the situation roughly. Soon, Mrs. Clements closed her eyes out of exhaustion and fell asleep again.

Later, Miranda went back home to prepare some things for the hospital stay, and Alicia accompanied Mrs. Clements in the hospital the whole time.

Miranda got back in the evening and Mrs. Clements had woken up by then. But, there were only the two of them beside the bed. It was only when night fell that Penny and Hallie rushed in on high heels and ran into the ward.

"Mom, how are you? I've been busy this whole time, I just heard the voice message!"

"Grandma, are you feeling better? I was scared out of my wits..."

Laying by the hospital bed, Hallie bawled her eyes out.
