Chapter 131
"What happened to her?"
Noticing that she was still conscious, Carson ordered, "Send her to the hospital now!"
Frederick carried her in his arms and strode to the car swiftly. From beginning to end, he didn't notice that Hannah had been standing behind him. The cold wind was blowing on the street and Hannah didn't know how to feel about it.
In the hospital, Alicia was given an injection after the body check-up.
"Doctor?"
Looking at the woman on the bed from a distance, Frederick asked with sweat on his forehead, "How is she?"
"Don't worry, she is alright now. She fainted due to exhaustion and hypoglycemia. Plus, she must be very distressed that it caused a momentary lack of blood supply to her brain. Maybe it was due to too much pressure, malnourishment, lack of good rest as well as the sudden surge of her emotions happening all at once. She just had an appendicitis operation recently, right? She is still in the recovery stage. I think she has been too busy and exhausted recently. In the future, make sure she takes a rest and take good care of her body. It may take about two months for her to recover."
"Thank you, Doctor Andrews!"
After Doctor Andrews left, Carson couldn't help but look at Frederick and thought, "What's wrong with Frederick? Why does his woman always faint due to tiredness or hungriness?"
"Don't look at me with such accusing eyes. I do not torture women!" As Frederick said this, he fixed his gaze on the bed. Frederick's heart couldn't help but ache for her.
She had worked so hard recently to take such good care of his grandmother. He shouldn't have quarreled with her and made her angry!
Then, Carson spoke as he thought of something.
"She is really a good and kind-hearted woman! Last time, she risked everything to sign for Mrs. Clements's operation. She always impresses me! Perhaps you don't believe it, but she was the only one that stayed by her side throughout the whole process. If it were the others, they wouldn't be willing to do such a thing. I wouldn't even dare to sign the paper for her to approve the operation!"
Thinking of this, Carson was quite envious of him for having such a thoughtful person by his side at critical moments! This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - ©.
That night, Frederick stayed in the hospital to accompany her.
Jeremy also headed to the hospital after he learned that she had fainted due to exhaustion. After knowing that she was fine already, he left in a daze. In the bar, he was touching the red tie that he bought. He was drunk and his cell phone kept ringing for almost half of the night.
The next day, the fashion event appeared in the headlines because of Hannah. The hottest topic was, of course, the mysterious lady that appeared that day. Obviously, another hot topic was about one of The Four Great Masters in Casterwich City, Master Clements, who kissed a woman on the street.
Scrolling on her phone, Lindsay stared at the images with her face distorted.
"It's her again! He was with her. Was that why he didn't pick up my call?"
She was furious, showing a livid look on her face. Then, she took her purse and rushed out the door.
When Jeremy woke up in his house, he felt a splitting headache. His clothes were wrinkled and his whole body smelt like alcohol.
Seeing that the corner of the tie was wrinkled, he felt distressed and patted it lightly. After checking it, he was relieved that it was not dirty. He stroked it and took off the tie carefully to iron it. After ironing it, he opened a locked wardrobe and hung the tie neatly with a black suit.
Stroking the black suit which looked new, Jeremy's hand subconsciously touched the logo near the collar, which had two slightly crooked embroidered butterflies and two small letters, Y & L. The letters were alphabets from their names. She said that she chose these two words because Y could also represent "You", and L could represent "Love". She liked the meaning of it.
It was her first time to design a man's clothing. It was a birthday present she had spent several nights preparing for him.
Jeremy's head throbbed even more as he touched it. Veins popped out on his clenched fists. "Why must she be from the Blanchard family?"
He locked the wardrobe and was about to enter the bathroom when he heard a loud knocking noise on the door. He turned around and walked towards the door.
Once he opened the door, an anxious voice sounded, "Jeremy, you are home? I called you so many times but no one answered. I thought something had happened to you!"
As she spoke, Lindsay's eyes were red with concern and anxiety.
It was as if a pang of realization hit him. In an instant, Jeremy looked a little strange as he apologized, "Sorry, I drank too much... Come on in. Let's talk about it."
He hit his head lightly to show Lindsay that he was guilty.
Walking in, Lindsay placed a small paper bag on the table. "I'm not in the mood to cook breakfast as I wasn't sure what happened to you or whether you were home. Thus, I simply bought two pieces of bread. You haven't had breakfast yet, have you?"
She was always so considerate and sensible.
"I'm sorry I made you worry! I'll take a shower first and get changed..."
Jeremy didn't know whether it was because he couldn't stand the smell of alcohol or he didn't know how to face her. He turned around and headed to the bathroom.
At the same time, Lindsay looked around to make sure that there was nothing unusual, and then she tried to calm down. Sitting down, she took the newspaper from the side and placed it in a plastic bag.
In the shower, Jeremy's mind was filled with the images of Alicia quarreling and kissing another man on the street. He became agitated all of a sudden.
He turned the cold water tap and washed his face before turning off the tap. "What's wrong with me? Why am I feeling so miserable?"
When he walked out and saw Lindsay, who was busy doing chores, he felt even more troubled.
"I've warmed some milk for you. It helps to relieve your headache. Drink it!"
When she picked up the cup, she deliberately knocked the plastic bag, causing the newspaper which she had bought to drop. She pretended to pick it up as she turned it over.
"What is today's news about? Let's see if there's any big news..."
As she spoke, she turned to the photo on the front page. "Hey, why does this lady look like Alicia? Is she with a man on the street?"
She deliberately paused for a while before adding with a pathetic tone, "Last night, were you two together?"
Jeremy glanced from the corner of his eyes and saw a picture of Alicia tying the tie for him. His heart suddenly skipped a beat.
"Don't overthink it! My friend invited me to help out! It's for... charity!"
"In fact, Alicia and Jeremy more look like an ideal couple. They are a perfect match, aren't they?" she thought in rage.
