Chapter 159
The next day, the soft golden rays of sunlight shone bright, waking up everyone that was in a deep sleep.
Alicia got up in a daze but she seemed to have gone through the longest and most difficult journey. She felt like she had just resurrected from the dead and she was in a state of despair.
She got up and went to take a shower. She looked at herself in the mirror in disgust as she grabbed a handful of her hair.
Were God punishing her?
In the past, she had everything. She regarded money as dirt in her eyes and what she wanted the most was love. However, on the journey of love, she got a huge slap in her face. At present, love was still her kryptonite.
Could it be that she was destined not to fall in love with anyone in her life?
Patting her pale face, Alicia took out a gorgeous-looking lipstick and applied it on her lips.
'Alicia, why are you always tempted by a man out of your reach? You should know how it ends, why would you pretend that it would work out? Why are you so greedy? You deserve to be sad!"
She pinched herself hard, trying to wake herself up. She turned her body slightly and her gaze fell onto a black flower.
"Love is not for you and it should have been buried long ago! It's not a big deal, I am sure you can stand up again. Weren't you dead set that you would never fall in love again? Who can be sure that there won't be another Frederick?'¹
She kept comforting herself in her mind but the corners of her mouth still couldn't help falling. "Still, I feel so devastated now—"
She was still in love with this man. At least, at this moment, she was!
Love was like a tangling knot to her. Every time she touched it, it restrained her, pulling her down into the deep depths of sorrow. If she wanted to get out, she needed to struggle with all her might, bearing the pain of losing a layer of her skin.
Alicia couldn't help but laugh at herself, "I wonder how many layers of skin can I peel off?" Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
However, no matter how hard and tired she was and how badly hurt she was at the moment, she had no right to be sad. She didn't even have the right to die. Her father was in a coma because of her. Her mother still needed her. She had to live a happy life.
She sighed faintly and felt upset. Then, she took her car key and went out the door.
That day, she gave herself a day off.
After arriving at the amusement park, she paid for a pile of game coins and walked to a huge claw machine. In the past, when she was rich, she liked to spend her money on the claw crane. Although she would always go home empty-handed, she still enjoyed it.
In the past few years, she hadn't played with the claw machine at all.
On this day, she spent her whole morning on this machine.
She had wasted three hundred dollars into it but she didn't even get any comforting rewards. She was so angry with her bad luck that she was speechless.
When she took out the last two coins, she couldn't help swaying the machine a little anxiously.
"What on earth is wrong with this?" She couldn't get the big ones and she couldn't even get the small ones.
Alicia pouted as she frowned at the machine.
Just as she was about to use her last coin, someone grabbed her wrist and uttered out of the blue, "You don't even have a clear mind, how can you get anything?"
When Alicia turned her head, the man had already withdrawn his hand.
It was him?
Marshall smiled with a coin in his hand. "Did you forget me again? Is my face so unmemorable?"
After all, he was a top- level doctor who was admired and looked up to enviously by tons of nurses.
Marshall Clark?
She could remember him indeed. But, she just didn't know why this person would always stick to her every time he saw her!
Taking back the coin in his hand, Alicia turned around and walked to an empty claw machine on the other side.
He had never seen such a proud woman before. Marshall's eyes lit up as he turned around and followed her.
After casting the coin into the machine, Alicia's heart was beating fast.
She was pouting while staring at the cute little dolls in the machine, looking a little pissed.
He was deeply amused by her lively and interesting look.
After a round of inspection, Marshall went to buy some coins for the game. He chose a random machine and in less than five minutes, he had successfully gotten a brown teddy bear. Then, he turned around and handed it over to Alicia.
"Is this enough to get your name?"
He had seen her several times but he still didn't know her full name yet, not to mention her phone number!
With a sparkle in her eyes, Alicia curled her lips and thought, "Why is he so lucky? I have been spending my whole morning doing this!"
Marshall drew closer to her, then Alicia immediately took it and spoke, "I'll tell you if you get me a lightcolored one!"
"Deal!"
After waiting for about ten minutes, he chose another machine. Marshall asked again with certainty, "Is it the exact same design but with beige colour?"
Alicia nodded. The bear that was in her arms was as tall as her, making her look kind of cute.
"Alright!"
For the first time, Marshall didn't grab it as he missed it. But, Alicia was full of excitement and encouraged him.
"Come on, you can do it!" She didn't expect that his skills were so good!
As she had spent her whole morning on this and yet she couldn't even afford to get one, she felt a little upset.
Alicia was beautiful and at this moment, she was holding a very eye-catching, huge teddy in her arms. Marshall, who was equally charming, was beside her. In an instant, everyone's eyes were fixed on them!
"Wow! You've caught it!"
Alicia cheered while jumping up and down. On the other side, the manager handed over the big bear, looking somewhat down.
When she reached out to take it, Alicia couldn't help but look at him and said, "What's wrong? I've spent so much in the morning, there's no loss for you too."
Looking at her sweet and lovely face, the manager didn't really know how to react.
In the morning, the most she had spent was only about several hundred. For these two bears, each of them cost more than three thousand dollars! This was their famous item in the shop, how could she get two at a time?
Alicia stared at the manager who kept looking at both of them from the corner of his eyes. She bet that he had lost quite a sum of money.
"Don't worry! I won't take away all of your bears! I just want two. I am already satisfied! I won't play anymore today!" Alicia said to him.
Alicia hugged the two enormous bears at once and was really in a good mood. She even joked with the manager.
"Look at how considerate I am! The next time I'm here, please remember to treat me well and give me some discount-"
Hearing this, the manager suddenly laughed and his attitude also changed dramatically.
"Of course! Miss, you are so beautiful and lovely. I won't forget you and I will definitely treat you well!"
If she really played for one whole day, he wouldn't have to worry about working for the rest of the month!
"Uh-huh!"
Alicia smiled brightly as she nodded with one huge teddy bear in each of her arms. After that, she looked over at Marshall.
"Thank you for getting me these two bears! I like them a lot!" She felt relaxed then. Sure enough, they were really helpful!
She smiled sweetly at him. When she thought of something, Alicia suddenly said, "Oh, by the way, my name is Ally!"
After that, Alicia turned around and strode away. She was in a very good mood indeed!
