Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 174

Sure enough, as soon as she did that, John subconsciously retreated, allowing Alicia to withdraw her hand. She deliberately pretended to sneeze and flung her purse. She even acted as if she was bending over and used the high heels of hers to step onto his feet.

"Achoo!"

"Ouch!¹'

The man screamed and turned around abruptly. As for Alicia, she purposely rubbed her nose and apologized, "Oh, no, I am so sorry. Achoo—"

Then, she pretended to sneeze again to take a few steps backward, keeping a distance from him.

"Mr. Andrews, are you okay? I am so sorry about that. How ridiculous of me. I'm not feeling well recently. Alas, perhaps I've taken a little too much of Artemisinin — oh, no, I meant I might've caught a cold. Maybe I have put on a little too much perfume, which made my nose feel a little itchy..."

After deliberately emphasizing the explanation, Alicia still had a smile on her face as she was obviously eyeing the money.

"I'm very interested in the task you just mentioned! Unfortunately, I'm not good at the German and French languages. Do you have any job that requires Russian translation? How much can I get? I'm a professional!"

As she said this, she deliberately scratched her arms and secretly scratched her thigh. Her actions were neither too obvious nor too discreet. She was intending to let the man notice it.

As expected, the next second, the man's face changed and he waved his hand as if he had seen a ghost.

"No, no! Our company doesn't hire anyone that speaks Russian! Miss Blanchard, I have to go to meet my friends. I'll look for you again if I need you..."

As he turned around, he stumbled in panic. Alicia clearly saw that he took out her business card from his pocket as he probably wanted to throw it into the bin.

"Pfft."

With a scoff, Alicia shook the document in her hand and stuffed it into her bag. "If you are so afraid, why would you still want to fool around? I don't even have to curse you; you will one day be doomed by women too!" Alicia scolded inwardly.

In the past, she had translated a few medical instructional materials. For this reason, she did a lot of research and even went to the hospital to get advice from doctors.

Artemisinin was known to be used as a medication to cure common sexually-transmitted diseases. It was said that it worked with other antibiotics and was the first choice of medicine due to its effectiveness. However, it was prone to trigger an allergic reaction. Therefore, it was necessary to conduct a skin test before taking the medicine!

Based on what she had just done, she could guess that men with a little common sense would think something was wrong with her. They must have thought that underneath her clothes, some part of her body was rotting!

After putting the documents in her purse, Alicia still felt a little proud of herself. In fact, as a translator, she was exposed to all kinds of fields and had vast knowledge.

When she turned around and was about to leave, she raised her eyes and met a pair of deep blue eyes.

She paused and choked on her saliva. She bit her lower lips subconsciously and thought, "He really is here, isn't he?"

How long had he been standing here?

When their eyes met, Frederick clenched his hand to form a fist in his pocket. It was a good show and he didn't miss out on anything at all.

At this moment, Frederick's emotions were really overwhelming. He admired her yet he was angry at the same time!

Was there only money in this woman's eyes? Did she come here to dance or to socialize? She was obviously taken advantage of by him and yet she didn't even know to get rid of him or slap him?

Frederick was furious but he couldn't deny that her way of handling things had her advantages! If she really did slap him earlier, she would definitely infuriate the man. In the end, she might not be able to protect herself.

However, thinking that she was held by such a disgusting man, Frederick felt extremely displeased.

All of a sudden, his eyes fell on her ear without him realizing it. He fixed his gaze on her and his expression turned a little unhappy.

A pair of mismatched butterfly earrings?

She seemed to like butterflies a lot!

He didn't realize that putting aside the style of these earrings, they were actually a gift from himself!

But at this moment, all he could think of was butterflies.

In an instant, his gaze upon Alicia became cold and disdainful. How could a person as observant as Alicia not notice that?

Did he look down on her again?

Although she had long known that he had always looked down on her no matter what she did, she could still feel a sudden pain in her heart. Her hand subconsciously clenched a little as well.

It was the first time for them to see each other after the quarrel.

For a long time, their eyes were fixed on each other and neither of them said a word.

At this moment, a delicate female voice broke the silence. "Frederick, are you here?"

All of a sudden, something flashed across Alicia's mind. She shook her hand and raised her chin slightly. She lifted her feet and walked away in her high heels, walking straight past him as she headed to the stairs on one side.

When their shoulders brushed, she inadvertently glanced at the woman who was chasing after him from the corner of her eye.

Although it was only a glance, Alicia could sense that the woman was dignified, obedient, and well- behaved. She had a graceful and virtuous temperament, which made her look even more delicate and pitiful! Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

They passed by each other and a huge difference could be seen. Danica was tender and soft while Alicia was gorgeous and brave.

Unintentionally, Danica slowed down her pace and glanced at her.

"Frederick, what took you so long? I thought you had something..."

"No, I went out to smoke..."

Behind Alicia, she could hear the faint voices speaking. The whole time, no matter how curious and uncomfortable she felt, she still looked straight ahead like a stranger or perhaps a proud little princess. Following that, she disappeared into the side of the corridor with her head held high.

When she exited the third floor, she ran all the way to her caras if she was fleeing from a disaster. However, her mind was still filled with the sweet conversation between them.

Danica's tone sounded as if she was close to him and his tone towards her was so gentle as well.

From their voices, Alicia could even imagine that woman holding and hugging him coquettishly.

Putting her hand on her chest, Alicia shut her eyes!

She didn't know how long she had been sitting in the car before she started the car and went back to Landrum Garden.

When she entered the house, it was as if she had just experienced a war. Her whole body was exhausted. The empty house appeared cold and unwelcoming. She lay on the bed weakly and curled herself into a ball, feeling like her whole body had been hollowed out.

After an unknown period of time, she got up and took a shower in a daze. Then, she pulled the quilt and covered her head.

That day, Alicia kept sighing and was tossing and turning until the middle of the night.

When Frederick returned to the private room, he was silent. He didn't say anything much even when the party was over.

After getting out of the nightclub, Frederick sent Danica home. On the way, the two of them didn't say anything as well. As he walked her back home, she could feel that he was upset throughout the journey.

She didn't know whether it was her illusion but she felt that he became unhappy after he went to the bathroom. She smiled and took his hand, then she asked a question tentatively.

"Frederick, is that woman pretty?"
