Chapter 764
He frowned again. After getting a good look at his face, Wyatt shook his head unconsciously and turned to leave.
He returned to the banquet hall and chatted with Carson for a while. When he looked up, he saw Franklin and Evelyn smiling as they walked in. He paused what he was doing, and his expression darkened.
It was about time to leave. The two of them walked out together and parted ways at the door.
Wyatt couldn't stop thinking about what he had seen. For some reason, his chest felt heavy and uncomfortable.
When he arrived in front of the gate, a figure suddenly jumped in front of his car. He slammed on the brakes and swerved. It was so abrupt that he stumbled forward. He looked up and saw Waverly waving her arms, stopping the car. Anger suddenly welled up in his chest.
Wyatt unfastened his seatbelt and dashed out of the car. He was even more furious when he saw that there was only a hair's breadth between her and the car.
"Do you have a death wish?"
Being shouted at, Waverly retreated and slowly opened her eyes, even her legs were shaking then. However, she had already waited for five hours. If she hadn't done that, she might not get to see him, and she would've waited for nothing.
Wyatt noticed that she looked a little grimy. Her skirt was wrinkled, and she was carrying a white bag on her back. She was also holding some folded newspapers, which seemed like she had been sitting on. Wyatt glanced at her and guessed that she had been waiting for quite some time.
She had even found his house! How dedicated!
"I... I'm here to ask for a favor!" Waverly slowly said after gathering her thoughts.
That time, she got straight to the point.
Wyatt got even angrier. He wasn't expecting her to reappear after scaring her away the last time.
On top of that, did Waverly not care about her life at all? If he had been slower on the brakes, he would have run her over.
The security guards heard the commotion, had already opened the gate and came out to welcome him. "Master Johnson, you're home!"
"Yes..."
Wyatt glanced at the servant and said. "Drive the car in!"
"Yes, sir!"
After glancing at the both of them, the security guard walked towards the car and drove it into the compound.
"Mr. Johnson, please have mercy and give us a little more time, okay? One year, no, half a year... or, three months? Please don't destroy the Wright High Group. We're willing to compensate any losses you may have incurred financially or mentally. We can even pay you double. Please let us off the hook and give us some time."
Waverly looked miserable as she clasped her hands together and pleaded pitifully.
They were already going to eliminate it. Why wouldn't they just let it slide and give them a chance? As she thought of Franklin's worried face, Waverly became even more anxious.
It wasn't only about the money anymore. More importantly, it was about dropping the Sky Success Group's lawsuit. It was only a rumor then but there were already agents that were pursuing the suppliers to take responsibilities. If they were found guilty, it would be the end of the Wright High Group! The establishment of a brand until it rose to prominence was the result of decades of hard work. However, it could be destroyed in just a moment. If the Wright High Group was ruined just like that, then the marriage between her and Franklin would be even less likely to be realized!
Her father wasn't agreeable to it to begin with. If the Wright High Group had a scandal then, regardless of whether they went bankrupt, her father would never let them be together just judging by his temperament.
At the thought of that, Waverly felt strangely sad and disappointed.
Growing up, her father had doted on her the most. She had always been the most valued daughter in the Castle family. How could her father let the apple of his eye marry a man who didn't have a bright future?
However, they were in love with each other, and she really hoped that they could grow old together.
In the past, she had applied for studying accounting in hopes that she could work at his company. Although she didn't join his company in the end, she had come to Casterwich City because of him.
She felt a little upset and gloomed as she thought about those things that were bothering her.
The more pathetic she made herself out to be, the angrier Wyatt became. He squinted his eyes and stare at him threateningly.
However, Waverly didn't notice it at
all. She thought that he was a

human with feelings after all, and if she persevered, she believed that she could convince him. So, she refused to give up unless she had been completely turned down.
"Mr. Johnson, why don't you think of this as the sale of something that you wanted to eliminate anyway, but at a high price to us? Or, you can view it as a rental to us for a year to start with Think about it, you would have anything to lose, but so much to gain from this. Then, you can decide later whether or not to keep renting it to us, or you can sell it off! As long as you give us a chance, you can make a profit and I won't keep pestering you. It's killing two birds with one stone! You must be annoyed with me already. So, why not?"
Wyatt was furious as he stared at her, but his eyes softened slightly.
How smart! It had only been a few days, but she had already come up with an idea! Renting it? She must have had exhausted her brain just because of Franklin!
"Mr. Johnson? Mr. Johnson?"
Waverly clasped her hands together and looked at him pitifully again.
Wyatt frowned.
"You can leave! Why should a woman like you interfere in affairs between us men? Just take care of him at home. Let him deal with the rest by himself!"
Wyatt flung his hand, turned and walked through the gate.
"Hey, Mr. Johnson, Wyatt..."
Waverly's legs were not responding swift enough, and she was too slow. The heavy iron gate had already closed when she turned and chased after him. She shouted and banged on the gate, but Wyatt didn't even glance back. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
Wyatt went to his room and poured himself a glass of red wine to try and calm himself down. He took his pajamas and went into the bathroom.
After showering, he heard the pitter-patter of rain. He looked out the window and saw that it was drizzling.
Wyatt took his wine glass and walked to the sofa. He watched the evening news on the TV while having some wine. By the time he came back to his senses, it was already storming outside.
He walked to the balcony to close the window.
The movement of a figure suddenly
caught his attention as he stepped out and looked up. He was closing the window, but he ended up suddenly pushing the window wide open. The heavy rain couldn't block
the view of the slim silhouette in it. He clenched his fists tightly.
"D*mn it!"
Why was she still here? Is she dumb?
