Chapter 781
It felt like a century had passed before the operating room's light was finally turned off.
As soon as the door opened, Trevor's face paled. He almost fell on his knees in front of the door. Holger immediately reached out to support him.
"Trevor!" Holger exclaimed.
"Doctor, how is she? She won't die, will she? She's still alive, isn't she?" Trevor asked.
Trevor grabbed the doctor's collar, his emotions strong and uncontrollable.
Carson walked out and assured him, "Calm down, Trevor! She's fine!"
After hearing that, Trevor turned to look at him and slowly loosened his grip on the doctor.
Carson glanced at the doctor, gave him some instructions, then turned back to Trevor.
"Don't worry! She got lucky. She had just passed out! We were in there for a while because of the number of wounds on her. She lost too much blood and was drugged, which is why she was unconscious. Fortunately, there are no broken bones. She just sprained her ankle!" Carson explained.
He was shocked when he heard that she had jumped off a building! His mind immediately questioned: Which floor did she jump off from? Did she only hurt her ankle? She was really lucky!
The wounds on her body were no minor scratches or bruises. They were clearly the result of whiplashes. Her skin had been split open and some of the deeper wounds had to be stitched up. These were serious injuries.
But Carson didn't dare to tell Trevor at the moment. He was afraid that Trevor wouldn't be able to take the news.
"Drugged?" Trevor asked.
Trevor suddenly regained his senses. He suddenly remembered the image of her lying on the ground. She had been covered in blood and was without shoes. Her clothes were a mess and her silk stockings were torn.
A trace of darkness flashed in his eyes. Trevor immediately turned around upon this revelation.
"Go to East Bannpool and Norwich City Hotel and find out what happened tonight! Find out whoever it was behind this! Be sure no suspect is left out, or you'll bear the consequences!" Trevor barked.
Trevor's fists were tightly clenched on his side, and his entire being emitted a grim, cold presence. Whoever dared hurt those he cared about would have their skin peeled off by him!
"Understood! Don't worry!" Holger answered.
Holger turned around and walked off to complete his task.
At that moment, Carson started to explain. "Those wounds were caused by whiplashes. She might have been..." Carson paused, then continued, "she might have been abused. Judging by the condition her clothes, she might have been sexually abused-"
Carson was hesitant as he shared this with Trevor, but was suddenly interrupted by the nurse before he could finish his explanation. Trevor mistook his half-spoken words as Victoria being r*ped!
At that moment, the hospital bed was pushed out of the operating room and Trevor immediately followed behind. Carson soon forgot that he had not finished his sentence.
Victoria's clothes had been changed into a patient's gown by the nurse in the ward. At that moment, she was laid in bed, sleeping with her eyebrows still twisted. There was a red scar on her neck, her arms, legs, and all over her body that were either wrapped in bandages or covered with medical plasters. Trevor never thought that the woman who had just been angry at him would turn out like this. He felt like he was stuck in a dream.
As he held her hand, Trevor felt for the first time in his life, just how fragile she was. Her life was so fragile that it couldn't withstand even a single blow.
He had almost lost her. He had almost lost her completely!
Trevor's eyes were tear- filled s as he gently caressed her hand and checked her temperature. He lowered his head and gave her a kiss on the back of her hand.
Thank God, she was still alive!
Trevor sat in front of the hospital bed, tormented by feelings of regret and concern. He felt lost but was also grateful that he got lucky. There were so many complex feelings within him that he had no idea what to do with any of them.
The next day, he was awakened by a faint tremor. When he opened his eyes, he saw Victoria's face scrunched up in pain, her body still stiff and her eyes still closed. She was groaning and her hands trembled. It was as if she was having a nightmare.
Victoria groaned again in her slumber.
Trevor got up from his seat and stroked her hair. He grabbed her hand and comforted her, saying,
"Don't be afraid. It's alright, everything's alright..."
As he spoke, Trevor's voice was choked with sobs.
It was all his fault. He should've taken her home earlier! If he wasn't angry at her, she would've been home reading books or surfing the. She seldom went out, and would do as she was told!
He had heard her rejecting night invitations more than once. He knew that she was a cautious person! He must have really upset her, causing her to be careless and to have met with such an accident!
As he kissed her little hand, Trevor's heart ached. She was so full of life, an all-in-all amazing woman. How could this...
Whoever it was, he would never forgive them!
"Ah!" Victoria sounded.
The nightmare continuously haunted her, sending tremors through her body. With a sudden scream, Victoria suddenly sat up on the hospital bed. Her abrupt movement had pulled the wounds on her body which made her gasp in pain.
"Ouch!" Victoria shrieked.
"Vicky, are you awake?" Trevor's eyes widened in surprise.
As he saw her opening her eyes, Trevor's red eyes were filled with excitement. "Do you feel uncomfortable?" He asked with concern.NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.

suddenly turned red as she looked at him. It was as if he was a ghost. then curled herself up at the bedside. She pulled the quilt over and rolled herself up into a ball she hid in the corner. She wouldn't stop crying.
She hugged herself as she sobbed and sobbed. She bit her lip as her tears kept flowing down her cheek.
Trevor's heart bled as he looked at her. She was rolled up like a hedgehog in the corner of the bed. "Vicky, it's okay. Don't be like this! Don't be scared, I won't hurt you!"
Trevor wanted to get closer to her.

As soon as he kneeled down on the bed, Victoria curled up even more. She started swishing her hands him, obviously resisting his approach. Trevor stepped back as he was worried that she'd be too agitated and would accidentally hurt her wounds
"I'm not going over anymore. Don't be afraid. I won't go over," Trevor repeated.
Looking at her from a distance, Trevor tightly clenched his fists once again.
Both of them were separated by a bed for half a day. No one moved at all.
Trevor never left. They didn't talk, and their eyes never even met.
She seemed to be a completely different person. She was like a dim candle whose light was about to be extinguished. Trevor's heart hurt. He peeled an apple for her but she continued to ignore him. She just sat there while he pondered about what was possibly on her mind.
He was afraid that she would slowly die like this. Trevor couldn't stand it anymore. He reached his hand out and pulled her out of the shadow in the
corner.
Victoria raised her hand to block the bright sunlight. She shrank back uncomfortably and yelled, "Let me go! What are you doing? Let me go!"
