Betrayal At The Altar

Chapter 707

Chapter 707

The two of them walked out of the living room and into the garden.

“What did you want to talk to me about alone?” Rachel was the first to speak.

Vulture pulled up the photo he had saved in his phone and handed it to Rachel. “Take a look. Do you know this person?”

Rachel lowered her gaze and looked at Vulture’s phone.

The moment Rachel saw the photo, her pupils constricted and she felt the shock hit her.

This was… her mother?!

Even though Rachel tried her best to control her emotions, there was still a look of surprise in her eyes. “Where did you get this from?”

“Lone Wolf received an anonymous order a few days ago,” Vulture told Rachel everything he knew. “The other party provided the photo and asked to investigate the relationship between the woman in the photo and you.”

Hearing this, Rachel’s eyes flickered with an ambiguous dark light. “What have you found out?”

“We couldn’t find anything but even if we did, we can’t tell him.” Vulture’s lips curled into a teasing smile, but his tone was unusually serious. “Red Flame has always held tight to the values of helping our own people.”

How could a mere 20 million dollars be worth them betraying Twelve?

Although the people of Red Flame valued money. Twelve was more important than anything else. Rachel sent the photo to her own phone and returned Vulture his phone. “Can you find out anything about the other party?”

Vulture shook his head. “Since it was an anonymous order, he obviously doesn’t want us to find any of his information. However, based on Lone Wolf’s investigation into the IP address location, we can confirm that the person is from Aureliana.”

Aureliana…

Aureliana again.

The people who had investigated Rachel previously and were now secretly investigating her mother were all from Aureliana.

Rachel slowly lowered her eyes to hide the darkness in them.

Ever since Rachel came to Aureliana, it felt as if an invisible hand had been pushing her forward.

Rachel could not help but wonder if the encounter with Mr. Davies at the Moon Pavilion was a coincidental occurrence or if it had been planned for a long time.

Aureliana had always been wary of letting strangers in. Why was her mother here?

At this moment, questions came one after another, and Rachel’s mind was in a mess, with no additional clues for her.

Seeing that Rachel was frowning and deep in thought, Vulture reached out and patted her thin shoulder. “Don’t spend too much effort on this matter. We’ll help you keep a lookout. If there’s any news, we’ll contact you immediately.”

Rachel nodded.

“It’s getting late. I’ll go, but I’ll leave Blackhawk here with you.”

Rachel was surprised that Blackhawk was staying but when she thought of the current situation, she did not decline and nodded. “Okay.”

A few minutes later, Rachel and the others sent Vulture to the helicopter.

On the helicopter, Vulture looked at the crowd below who were getting smaller, and could not help but reveal a trace of reluctance in his eyes.

After so many years, they had still missed out on each other.

Vulture took a deep breath, looked away, and turned to look up at the clouds in the sky.

After sending off Vulture and Blackhawk, the group returned to the living room.

Mary now became the focus of everyone’s attention.

“Tell me, how did you get kidnapped?” Jimmy looked up at Mary.

Although Mary was the daughter of the Green family, she was not an ignorant girl. She would definitely have noticed a standard kidnapping method.

Mary did not expect this question to be suddenly brought up.

Mary’s eyelashes fluttered in panic as she lowered her eyes to hide the emotions in her eyes. Mary pursed her lips and said calmly. “I just got kidnapped. There aren’t that many whys.”

Hearing her low tone, everyone thought that Mary was still affected by the anxiety of the kidnapping, so they stopped asking.

The living room fell back into silence until there was the sound of footsteps at the door.

Everyone looked in the direction of the voice and saw Thomas walking in.

Seeing the people gathered in the living room, Thomas smiled, his long and narrow eyes curled into a natural arc, revealing a hint of flirtatiousness. “Hey, everyone is here today.”

Thomas noticed Mary sitting beside Rachel and guessed that the huge commotion yesterday was most likely related to this woman in front of him.

The stranger’s arrival made Mary’s already tense body tense up even more, like a startled rabbit. Rachel was worried that she was overly nervous and took Mary’s hand, making a suggestion. “Do you want to go outside with me for some fresh air?”

“Okay.” Mary nodded repeatedly.

Watching the two of them leave, Thomas lit a cigarette. “I heard that you suddenly left the meeting last night and even sent a team of fully armed personnel. Why did you make such a big scene for a kidnapping?”

To them, kidnapping was the most inconspicuous trick.

Jimmy responded, “That son of a b*tch even thought of blowing up the tunnel. Naturally, we had to go big

too.” This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

After hearing Yann’s report last night, they all felt some residual nervousness.

Personal feelings did mess things up.

That’s why they’d neglected to check the surroundings.

Fortunately, Blackhawk had removed the bomb. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

“Who did it?” Thomas asked with a serious expression.

Biowing up a tunnel? This person was already prepared to die with David.

David’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down, and his eyes showed a thin layer of hostility. “Someone from the ninth branch.”

“Didn’t we take care of all of them?” Thomas subconsciously blurted out, obviously forgetting about Nathan Jones who was physically impaired.

“Don’t forget, there’s still Nathan Jones, Jimmy said.

After this reminder, Thomas thought for a moment and suddenly remembered something. He exclaimed in realization, and there was even a hint of mockery in the corners of his eyes. “So it’s him.”

Rachel and Mary sat on wicker chairs in the garden, drinking coffee and admiring the flowers.

Rachel looked at Mary and suggested, “Do you want to call home?”

Mary had lost contact with the outside world during the period that she’d been kidnapped. The Green family in Seaxas must have been plunged into chaos as well.

Hearing this, a hint of mockery flashed across Mary’s eyes. “He doesn’t have time to bother with me now.” “Did you get into a fight with Kyle?” Rachel sensed Mary’s low spirits.

Mary pursed her lips and quickly changed the topic. “By the way, do you know the person from yesterday?”

“Not really,” Rachel said. “He’s the successor of the ninth branch. They were cut off a few days ago because of something they had done, and he held a grudge so he wanted to use me to deal with David. That’s why you got implicated in this.”

Mary, however, did not blame Rachel for dragging her into this.

Instead, Mary felt that Nathan was pitiful and pathetic.

Nathan clearly knew what the outcome would be, but he still wanted to go up against David. He was really courting death.

Mary held the cup in her hand and suddenly thought of something. “By the way, I vaguely heard him talking to someone on the phone yesterday. I thought the name was a little familiar, but I can’t remember where I heard it from. Help me figure it out.”

Hearing this, Rachel raised her eyebrows slightly.
