Chapter 100
Chapter 100
Luca’s POV
“Is that alright with you, Luca?” Sarah started to ask, pointing her hand behind her and I knew she was
referring to James. I nodded my head immediately, glancing up at James and back at Sarah’s face.
“Of course, he needs it, that was why I invited him over, and also because I wanted to feed him here
tonight.” I informed her and watched as her face lit up a little as my words sank into her head.
“He’s staying for dinner? That’s just perfect… I have to get Matilda to…” I watched as she started to
speak while also speaking to herself at the same time, she trailed off at the last sentence and glanced
up at me after a few seconds.
“Er, Mr Ricci?” She breathed out and I lifted my eyebrows up at her in acknowledgment.
“Is there anything you’d want us to prepare? Something special?” She started to asked and I shook my
head instantly.
“No, there isn’t anything, I’m not picky, anything would be fine. Although, I’m not sure about James.” I
referred the last part of the sentence to James who was still in the same spot he had been in, moments
ago – and I watched as he also started to shake his head instantly.
“I also don’t have preferences, anything is fine by me.”
“Oh, I remember one of your favorites, James… I am going to make that for you, if that’s alright?”
Sarah breathed out and turned her head around until she was staring up at James. The smile that
graced James face at that was a cute one, and it made him appear like a child that she usually refers to
him as at that very moment. He closed the small distance between them and reached down to place
his palms on her shoulders.
“Thank you, Sarah. You’re the sweetest.” He gushed out and even though I couldn’t see Sarah’s face at
the moment, I knew she was blushing scarlet at the moment, as those words washed over her.
“I am sorry for springing a sudden visit on you guys and coming so unannounced, I am sure Luca didn’t
inform you that I was going to be coming over this morning.” He continued and she nodded her head at
him before starting to reply to him. “It’s alright, James. We don’t find, don’t worry about it. Worry about
how messed up your knuckles currently are.” She breathed out the last part and James grinned at her
before raising her head and staring around the kitchen.
“Where’s Matilda by the way?” James suddenly asked and I turned my head to glance around the
kitchen, but she wasn’t anywhere around, even though I was sure she had been in here when I had
made my way into the kitchen – after all, she had been the one to be dabbing Sarah’s forehead with a
white folded towel. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
“I could have sworn that she had been in here when I had gotten here at first,” James continued to say
and Sarah turned around and stared around the kitchen herself before starting to speak. “She had
probably gone off to start to set the table or off to get something else done.”
“You’d go to where? So I can come get your knuckles cleaned and wrapped up in.” Sarah asked the
both of us but she was staring at me as she asked the question.
“The second sitting room alright with you?” I asked James and he nodded his head after a moment,
and I turned my face back to stare at Sarah. “We’d be in the second sitting room, you can come help
him get his knuckles cleaned up in there.” I said to her and she nodded her head as the words sank
into her head.
I started to make my way towards the entrance of the kitchen, and James, who had been standing at
the further side of the kitchen, had started to make his way out of the kitchen.
I had been trying my very best not to think about her ever since I made my way into the kitchen and
didn’t see her in here, and she also wasn’t in the sitting room as well. I started to move towards the
entrance leading out of the kitchen before pausing behind James and placing a hand on the back of his
shoulder.
“You go on ahead, I'll come join you in a few minutes.” I said to him before I could start to overthink
what I was about to do and he nodded his head in reply to me and was out of the kitchen in the next
second, without turning his head around to look behind into the kitchen.
I turned back around and started to make my way back to Sarah until I was standing a few feet away
from her. She wouldn’t meet my eyes and I knew wouldn’t having to think for long, that she was
obviously still feeling guilty over the way I had walked in on her and Matilda and how she had been
undoubtedly bursted at that very moment… but I wasn’t bere for that at this very very moment, I was
here for another thing in particular.
That particular thing which was a girl if I was being more precise, and that girl was obviously no other
person than my young – or little wife, as James normally use in referring to her, who was no other
person that Sofia.
That was my main and only reason for coming back here into the kitchen right now, and it was because
I had been curious, and nothing more.
Nothing other than curiosity, just curiosity.
I moved even closer to her and watched as she stared at the other side of the kitchen with her
shoulders a little bit hunched, like she was expecting me to suddenly start demanding and interrogating
her right there at this very moment.
But that wasn’t how it was going to work, there isn’t enough time on ground for that right now, I only
wanted to ask a few questions about my young wife and I’d be out of here once it got answered
immediately.
“Sarah?” I called out and watched as she blinked once before dragging her eyes upwards to stare at
me.
“Yes, Luca?” She replied, drawing her hands around herself to place them on the top of her stomach
where she clasped them together.
“Where’s Sofia?” I asked after a few moments and watched as she slowly exhaled a deep breath
before staring up at me with less guilt in her eyes as she started to reply to me. “Sofia?” She started to
say and I nodded my head once, still staring up at her.
“She’s upstairs right now, she went up to sleep immediately after she had dinner.” Sarah replied and I
stared at her quietly for a few seconds before starting to ask. “When was that?”
“About an hour ago, before you arrived home.” Sarah replied and I nodded my head to her after a few
seconds.
“Did she encounter any kind of stomach or body pains throughout the day? Did the cramps start again
that day?” I started to ask again and waited when Sarah started to shake her head in reply, even before
I could finish speaking.
“No, nothing like stomach pains and the rest, at least none that I know about, but I knew she’d come to
Matilda and I incase it had started in the day, or unless if it had come but had been really mild and she
felt she didn’t need to inform anybody about it.” Sarah started to say and I nodded my head after all
what she had said had started to digest in my mind.
“Alright, thank you.” I said to her and started to walk away before stopping and turning back around to
stare at Sarah once again. “She did make use of her drugs this afternoon and later tonight, right?” I
demanded and watched as Sarah nodded her head a few times in reply to my question.
Once I was satisfied with the answers I had gotten to the amount of questions I had asked Sarah, I
turned around and started to make my way out of the kitchen. I made my way through the house,
slowly shoving my hands deep into my pockets as I made my way towards where the second sitting
room was located here in the house– where James was currently waiting for me in.
I dragged in a deep breath and paused outside the slightly opened door of the sitting where James was
already in, and puffed out the breath with I had trapped in my lungs for a few seconds, loving the way
my chest expanded slowly as I slowly finished dragging in deep breaths and puffing them out of my
lungs.
And then I placed my hand on the door knob and started to pull on it.
