Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 103

Chapter 103

Luca’s POV

“That’s crazy, man.” I said to James and watched as he shrugged his shoulders before starting to

speak. “You should have been used to all these already, at least that’s what I thought… because it

wasn’t like you just became popular overnight, you’ve been popular for a while now, since years ago.”

James mused audibly and I lifted my fingers to push my hair out of my face before starting to reply to

him.

“Believe me, there’s no getting used to this shit, it would all overwhelm you every damn time.” I started

to say and leaned forward to place my elbows on my thighs before continuing after a few seconds.

“You’re also popular on the internet, how do you handle your whole notifications?” I demanded,

because it seemed like he was such a pro when it comes to this whole thing.

“Are you fucking kidding me man? Do you know how freaking popular you are?” James breathed out

with a light laugh and shook his head before starting to speak once again, before I could even start to

reply to him. “Like, I mean, I am unknown compared to you.”

I scowled at him as soon as I turned my head around to stare at him, and I didn’t appreciate the way he

was looking at me with a lopsided grin on his face.

“But you are popular. Perhaps not as popular as I am, but you aren’t as unknown as you’re saying you

are right now.” I said to him after a few moments and watched as he snorted before also leaning ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

forward to place his palms on his thighs, mirroring my body posture but doing a completely different

thing with his hands.

“Alright, alright. Maybe I am not as unknown as I said I was before, and maybe I am a little popular, but

it’s not as much as yours– so you really can’t be asking me about how I handle my notifications

because first or all, we won’t even be having the same amount of notifications.” James finally paused

and turned his head around to stare at me, right before he continued. “Do you understand where I am

coming from?”

I pursed my lips and stared at him pointedly without saying a thing for a moment before nodding my

head once. He snorted at my facial expression before shifting his body a little until his shoulder was

nudging mine a little.

“Come to think of it, you’re verified on over four large platforms, without even applying for a verification

tick, it got given to you because the people behind that department on those platforms, felt like you

deserved it.” He started to say once again and I nodded my head after a few seconds before I knew he

was waiting for me to give a sign of acknowledgement before he’d finally proceed with what he was

explaining.

“Compared to me, I might be popular with a good amount of followers, but I am not verified anywhere

yet, you’re still the goat here.” He finally concluded what he had been explaining and I shifted back until

I was leaning back into my seat, dragging in a deep breath and puffing it out slowly.

I remember when I had been growing up and I had watched my dad drag on a stick of joint and other

stuffs which he’d sniff into his nose on and on, without ever bothering to hide what he was doing, from

my brother and I. I had disliked my father so much from the very start, as soon as I started to

understand that my father was a really horrible person, and automatically, I had hated a lot of things

that he did.

And smoking any kind of thing, was among the top five things or characters of his that I had disliked so

much and I had vowed and promised myself that I wasn’t ever going to try to smoke any kind of thing. I

had gotten a lot of opportunities to try it out while growing up, I have come across my father’s joint and

lighters a whole lot, but tne thought of trying out what my father loved with so much passion had left

such a bad and horrible feeling in my insides and I haven’t ever tried it out.

Till date, I had no idea about how it feels to drag in a lungful of smoke and trap it in there for a few

seconds before blowing it out from the nostrils and parted lips ever so slowly. Apparently, it leaves a

soothing and satisfying feeling behind and it also help with numbing pains and feelings, but I still

haven’t ever gotten to trying it out.

I could clearly remember when I had lost my father and the pain that had hit me had been oh so

intense, it had shocked me so damn much because I hadn’t ever expected the fact that I was going to

ever hurt whenever he ends up dying, and out of anger and frustration at myself because I was

obviously feeling hurt over a man who had done nothing but to show my brother and I lots of pain while

growing up.

And so, I had decided to try to smoke the pain away since I’ve heard so much about it was very

efficient when it comes to that ascept, but as expected, I hadn’t gotten around to doing it because of so

many reasons, and I had ended up getting more mad at myself for even attempting to try smoking

despite the fact that I had promised myself that I wasn’t going to ever try to do that.

If it indeed worked out for some people, then it was good for them. I am very good without smoking,

and I won’t ever be doing it. My best friend doesn’t smoke as well, but it was for a completely different

reason, and not because of the reason why I had decided to not ever try smoking.

I turned my head around until I was staring at James who was currently staring at something on his

phone.

“Being a goat can be tiring though.” I said to him and watched as he slowly turned his head around,

dragging his eyes off the phone to focus his eyes on me, and I watched as he snorted a little before he

started to speak.

“C’mon man, it can’t be that bad, now can it?” He demanded with raised eyebrows and I started to reply

immediately, feeling perplexed that he wasn’t believing my words for it.

“Oh, it can. It is bad, really bad and so tiring most times.” I said to him so watched as he breathed out

another laugh before holding out his hand and demanded. “Hand me your phone then, if it’s as bad as

you say it is.”

“Let me go through the notifications.” I said and I rolled my eyes before reaching into my pocket and

dragging out my phone, holding it before my face until it got open automatically. I swiped it up until the

Home Screen was visible, and then I handed the phone to him and started to speak once he already

had the phone in his hands.

“Here it is, go through the notifications after turning on tne data connection and tell me if that isn’t a

whole fucking lot.” I said to him and watched as he nodded his head before reaching to the top of the

phone to swipe down and turn on the phone’s data connection.

I leaned back into my seat and leaned my head against the headrest of the couch, allowing my eyes to

slid shut as I dragged in a deep breath and puffed it out almost immediately, feeling my stomach start

to growl for the first time throughout the whole of today – or it might have growled at different points

and moments during the day, but I had been too carried away and busy to notice something like this.

I was really joking with my body and health at this point, if this was how I was now going to continue

living my life. I mean, all I’ve had throughout the whole of today was a cup of coffee which I had made

myself this morning, right before I headed into my office here at home and locked myself in it.

I moved a little in my spot and reached up to unbutton another button on my shirt, allowing the cool air

to get more access to flow into my body. I shifted a little once again and reached upwards to stroke my

fingers through my hair, allowing the curls to hang around my fingers before slowly pulling my fingers

out through the curls and feeling it stretch on my fingers before getting to its highest level and giving up

before returning back to its normal size and shape.
