Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 148

Chapter 148

Luca’s POV

“We should probably head out right now? What do you think?” James asked me as soon as I pushed

myself into my feet and I nodded my head at him. “Yeah, we really should.”

“When we get back, there’s like a two hour break before our next appointment. I say we go through

your personal inboxes and get back to some of the people we’d like to work with, and decline the rest.”

James started to say and I turned my head around to stare at him from where I was standing, sgdinst

the bookshelf in my office.

“Is that really necessary?” I demanded and watched as James stated at me with a really experated

facial expression before starting to speak. “Are you kidding me, Luca? Didn’t you see your messages

requests on Instagram, as well as your mail box.”

“You do have a point.” I murmured as I started to make my way back to the table.

“So, did you end up giving your emsil to your secretaries like you said you were going to. You’ve

created a new email as well, right?” James asked as I started to sink back into my seat.

I carded my fingers through my head as I gave a shake of my head. “Actually, not yet. I always forget

about it whenever I get here to the office, and I’d remember immediately I get back home.” I replied to

james after a few moments and the blank expression he gave me immediately I was done made me roll

my eyes.

“What?” I grumbled at him and watched as he signed out dramatically before leaning forward on the

table with his hand on top as well.

“Nothing. Just that you’re a fine piece of work.”

“And you’re a fine one to talk, aren’t you? If this isn’t the pot calling the kettle black… or the cuttlass

calling the hoe dirty.” I replied to him almost immediately with a small snort.

“No, no. We both know you’re way worse than I am. I do not joke about these kinds of stuffs compared

to you. We’re very much different, Luca.”

“Shut up, James.” I said to him absent mindedly as I focused my mind on looking for what it was that I

was searching on this particular book I had gone to fetch, minutes ago.

“We should be leaving in like two minutes, Luca. You do know that we supposed to be on the road at

the moment, and if we’re going to be wasting more time here, then your driver is going to have to drive

really fast, and if we end up getting there late, you’d have to apologize to them for appearing late.”

I hummed a little beneath my breath before staring to speak. “Hm, I can do that. That wouldn’t be a

problem. Since I still want to get some thing done, let’s stay in for a few minutes more. We’d leave in

five minutes, and I’d definitely apologize for arriving late.”

“You my friend, is one fine piece of work.” James mused loudly after a few seconds and I shook my

head while breathing out a little laugh in reply.

*******

After arriving back at the office, James had thankfully reminded me about the email address thst o had

wanted to give to the secretaries for over a week now, and after ensuring that I had disconnected some

things like my personal things from it, I handled the email over to them and created another one

instantly, right there in the office. And then James and I had started to go over the amount of inbox

requests in my messages box on Instagram, and James kept shaking his head I

Believably as we both worked on it at the same time, and James had a laptop set on the table before

us, looking up each unfamiliar company or shares name instantly.

It took a long while before we were done, and as soon as we were done, we still had the ema requests

to go through. But thankfully, it had been flittered by the secretaries and only the ones which they

deemed as important, had been the ones they had left behind when they had come back to hand over

the list to me.

To my shock, tne list still had over thirty companies on it.

Yikes.

I turned my head around until I was staring at James who was busy tapping away on his laptop, with

his brows furrowed a little in concentration.

“I think we should leave soon for the next thing on our schedule today, we can come back and come

continue this later tidsy, yeah?” I said to him and watched as he finally glanced up once he was done

and he quickly checked his time on his phone before nodding his head instantly and saving what it was

what he was working on, as well as sending the message which he had been composing for one or tne

top companies that we found in my inbox request box on Instagram.

He pushed himself to his feet and he stretched as soon as he was stabbing in his feet, I pushed myself

to my feet and started to button my shirt back up, smoothing my fingers over the material of my inner

shirt to straighten out the tiny bits of wrinkles that have made their way into it.

“Let me make use of your rest room right now, then we can head over to where we have to go next.” NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.

James said as he started to make his way towards efere the rest room was located at, even before I

could speak.

I picked up my phone and checked if I’ve gotten any kind of message from either Ethan or Ryan, from

the usual daily tabs of Sofia, but nothing was in my inbox yet, I guess it would come in later in the day. I

pocketed my phone just as james started to walk out or the rest room, and after a few minutes, we both

made our way out of th office together.

******

I leaned down and pressed a kiss against the side of Aria‘a head.

Yeah, she was still unconscious, still in a freaking coma.

And here I was, already hoping for some good news as I made my way into the office today. It had

taken everything in me not to delivery a had blow on the face of doctor when o had arrived only to hear

that she was yet to wake up. He had been smart enough to take a few steps backwards when he had

done, some seconds after he hat delivered the news to me.

I sat on the spot on tj bed beside her, right before I picked up her hand in mine and felt her cold fingers

press into my warm once. Her face looks so peaceful, like she wasn’t currently battling a really fierce

battle against death at the moment, since the day I had rescued her – thankfully, although now that I

think about it, it was kind of my fault thsy I didn’t go out that night to go search for her and bring het

home with me, after she had texted me that particular night.

But then I had been sick at that particular moment as well, I could still remember perfectly, so I didn’t

think it was going to be fair on anyone it I had gone out that night and even get myself shot at.

I stretched my fingers forward and used the tip of my fingers to graze her cheeks. They were thankfully

warm and not as cold as her hands were, when I had taken them in my hand. My mind started to drift

towards Sofia as soon as o had started to graze my fingers over her cheeks once again, and I started

to imagine how sofia would grow red in embarrassment instantly.

Aria, assuming she wasn’t in a coma at the moment, most definitely wouldn’t allow me to graze her

cheeks this way, over and over again, she’d have shoved my hand away from her cheeks after a

couple of seconds.

Once she gets out to coma and gets completely healed, I was going to introduce her to my wife

instantly. It wasn’t like Aria had no idea of what Sofia looks like, seeing as she was there on tne day we

had gotten married, but I’d like to introduce them to each other one on one.

I’d like it if they can get to know each other, I had no idea as to why I was thinking about this at this

particular time, but the thought had suddenly come into my head moments ago, and it stil feels like a

good idea.

At the moment it though, I just couldn’t wait for Aria to wake up from this coma.

The doctor had said it was only going to last for a few days, and now it was starting to drag, and

whether I’d like to admit it or not, it was kind of making me start to get scared a little bit, and very much

worried because of it.

I leaned down as soon as I had pushed up from my spot on her bed, and then I kissed the side of her

head softly.
