Chapter 262
Chapter 262
Luca’s POV
I wasn’t with a gun at the moment and I was already feeling pretty light and armless, it was a feeling I
hated experiencing because for one, I hated how I had come to so much to depend on a gun or a knife,
but it wasn’t like I had ever had a choice in this kind of situation, seeing as I was literally born into it and
had no choice but to follow the footsteps already laid out for me.
I turned my head around and scanned the whole oksve for a fleeting moment, and because I was still
feeling really armless and exposed, I gestured for one of the guards to come towards me in the next
moment, knowing the Sofia was currently looking at what it was that I was doing with nothing but
curiosity in her eyes.
“Where’s your gun?” I asked him as soon as he was done greeting and bowing down to me. He held it
out in the next moment, movements fluid and sharp like I had trained them to be.
“Hand it over.” I said to him and watched as he dropped it into my palm without any sort of hesitation.
“Is it loaded?” I asked as I started to move it around on my palm at first.
“Yes sir.” He responded almost immediately, voice gruff.
“How many bullets?” I demanded as I held the gun upright and stared down at it. It was a different
brand from the one I usually make use of.
“Ten, sir.”
I held the gun out and motioned for him to move away from the spot he was standing in, and I uncorked
it and pulled on the trigger. The gun went off instantly, the sound loud and razz as it echoed around the
whole place, but my hands barely vibrated from the force of it.
“You may go, also, go get another gun for yourself.” I said to him and watched as he bowed his head at
me before leaving in the next second. I turned my head around to see Sofia staring at me with wide
wide blown eyes and parted lips.
“Why did you do that?” She asked in a small whisper as she blinked at me.
“Oh, that?” I paused before continuing. “I wanted to test it out to see if it was working well.” I explained
to her.
“Oh.” She whispered after a moment and I nodded my head at her once.
“You needed a gun for something?” She asked after a fleeting moment and I nodded my head at her
before starting to respond to her.
“Yes bunny, to protect you. You do know how dangerous this whole place is, me staying here without a
gun is dangerous enough on its own, and I really hate staying unarmed.”
“Ohhh.” She whispered after a few moments, blinking up at me as she squirmed a little on the spot on
the grass.
“Mhhm.” I hummed after a moment.
I knew she couldn’t be all that bothered by being this close to a gun at the moment, she was after all
born into this lifestyle filled with stuff like this.
“Do you want to cuddle your teddy?” I asked after some time when we both fell into a comfortable
silence and I tapped on it for emphasis beside my side when she instantly glanced at me.
I watched as her eyes lightened up in the next moment. “Yes please, I’ve kind of forgotten about it until
this very moment.”
“Of course you did, you didn’t have to carry it around for over ten minutes, did you?” I tsked a little as I
lifted the stuffy and handed it to her and she trapped it from me instantly, pulling it into her arms and
squishing her face into its warm fur in the next moment.
“My arms would have broken a long time ago.” She finally responded, voice muffled a little and I
breathed out a small laugh at her response.
She was pulling the teddy into herself and pressing her face into it in such a cute way that I felt my
heart start to squeeze a little at how cute they both looked at the moment.
“What are the names you came up with for it?” I asked after some time and I watched as she blinked
her eyes open in the next moment, as my question slowly sank into her head.
“Uh, a lot of names, actually, but I really like some of those names.”
“Let’s hear the manes which you liked.”
She listed them after some time and was blushing a little when she was finally done.
“I know some of them sound weird but they have really nice meanings and besides, I think they’re
really cute.” She started to defend herself but I shook my head a little before starting to speak.
“You know that I wouldn’t even judge, right? And besides? You don’t need to defend yourself or explain
yourself when you like something.” I said to her after a moment and watched as she blinked at me for
the first ffw seconds before finally ducking her head and blushing a little once again.
“Thank you.” She whispered after a moment and I nodded my head at her and reached out to stroke
my fingers through her hair a little, and she leaned into my touch the next moment.
We started to navigate through the names and I helped her pick a name for her teddy which she was
really excited about. I had decided to help her with it because my guess had ended up becoming right,
she was one of those people that wouldn’t feel alright making some of their decisions themselves
except if someone makes it for them, that’s when they wouldn’t fret over it and would be completely
relaxed about it.
I was starting to understand Sofia a lot more which was really pleasing to know because I know that I
still have a really long way to go with her. A really, really long way.

it comes to some decisions which she was supposed to normally conclude on by herself, then I was All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
more than happy to help her with it at it seems, it gave me some sort of satisfaction that she’d be able
to trust my judgment without any sort of question or hesitation.
I reached out and fluffed her hair a little, watching as she shook her head a little to get some of the hair
out of her face the next moment, right before she glanced up at me and flashed me a small grin that
made her eyes reduce in size.
“Thanks for helping me with a name for it, I feel closer to it as it seems.” She informed me and I
chuckled a little. “Of course, bunny. You’re welcome.”
“Now I’m going to cuddle with it more, too bad I won’t be able to cuddle it to sleep.” She continued and I
let out a small snort at that.
“You wanna leave me for it?” I asked after a couple of moments.
“No, of course not, cuddling with you is the most perfect thing ever.” She admitted with gusto and
proceeded to duck her head when her words started to sink into her head.
“So it’s perfect?” I asked with a laugh and I watched as she covered her face against the fur of the
teddy almost immediately.
I decided to lay on my back after some time and I stared up into the darkening sky, with my hands
folded behind me. I glanced sideways when I felt movements beside me and I noticed that it was just
Sofia moving towards me.
“Uh, I –” She started to speak when our eyes locked but I shushed her and pulled her against me, with
her head pillowed on one part of my arm. She cuddled up against me, fitting against me perfectly.
We remained like that for a while, with my eyes still managing to scan around the whole place, despite
how much it was getting hard for me to do that when Sofia inched her hands beneath my shirt and
started to caress the sides of my abs, her touch was light and feathery, and I seriously doubt if she
even knew that her touch was making me feel the way I was currently feeling.
—
“Bunny?” I called out and watched as she glanced up at me instantly, blinking up at me.
“James is going to be coming over to the house tonight.” I informed her because I wanted her to know
beforehand, to avoid her being taken off guard when she’d set her eyes on him – and also because I
wanted her to be comfortable with it.
