Chapter 317
Chapter 317
Luca’s POV
It was a little bit after noon when I finally left the house, Sofia hadn’t been happy that I was leaving tne
house when it was obvious that I still needed more rest, and had pouted at me as I got ready for work,
although I wasn’t going to be reaching the office at all for the whole of today. I had cooed at her and
pressed a small kiss to the side of her lips when she had stood on the bed to give me a hug.
I had embraced her and held her against me for long moments, as I remembered ehst I said last night
in bed, right before I had fallen asleep. I had meant everywhere word, I really wasn’t sure of how I was
going to act or react if she got kidnapped, all I was sure was that s lot of blood was most definitely
going to flow it that ever happens.
My driver was already here and he drove me straight to the condo where Armani was at. I had gotten
alerted when he had finally awoken, but had decided against calling him because I wanted him to get
enough rest as possible.
On settling eyes on him, a deep relived sigh whooshed out of my mouth as I made my way towards his
bed to stare down at him and examine him. His hand was bandaged, as well as his shoulder. His still
looked a little bit pale, but I was sure that was going to change in a few more hours.
“How are you feeling?” I finally asked. Armani had on an unreadable expression on for a really long
while, and I had a feeling he had been in that mood way before I had arrived here.
“Is this how life being involved in the mafia feels like?” He finally asked in a low voice, and there was
something I’d tag as pain in his voice. It took me a few moments to finally start to speak.
“In a way, it does. But then again, it doesn’t.” I finally responded.
“Oh, that’s nice then.” He responded, sarcasm dripping off his voice and I let out a low sigh.
“I’m so sorry it’s like this, Armani. I never want you to be involved in this, like ever, because of stuff like
this.” I paused and regarded him for a moment.
“It’s unfair to you that you had to go through what you did, I’m sorry for that.”
“Hey, it’s not your fault, stop apologizing already.” He finslly mumbled and I was honestly relieved that
he felt like that.
“I’m serious, if I hadn’t allowed you to come over here, none of these would have happened.”
“Hey, I offered to come myself, st least I’m old to make my own decisions, am I not?” He finally
responded and I reluctantly nodded my head.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right.”
“Not old enough to decide to leave the house without protection then?” I supplied after a few moments
and and was honestly relived when he rolled his eyes at that.
“That was on me through, I should have known better.” He finally breathed out.
We fell into a little silence after that.
“I was really scared though.” He began to speak after a few minutes, voice low and filled with so many
emotions at once.
“It’s very normal to be scared in that kind of situation.” I responded and he laughed a little. “I knew you
were going to say that.”
“But I’m right, you can’t deny that.”
He hummed a little. “I guess you are, although that’s only partly.” He paused. “If you had been in my
own situation, I knew you’d not have been scared.”
He regarded him for a moment. “I would have.”
“You’re lying, you won’t have been scared. Infact, you wouldn’t have been able to get kidnapped, I don’t
think anyone is that dumb to even think of attempting taking you hostage.” He breathed out after a few
moments and I remained silent, not knowing what to say at first.
I began to speak after a few moments, tentatively. “Well, if I had no skills and was without any
weapons, then I know I’d be scared.”
Armani regarded me for a few more moments before letting out a small sigh. “Fine, you win this
argument.”
I chuckled at that and reached out to touch his hair a little, and then I spoke. “Are you okay?”
He pursed his lips at first before shaking his head.
I felt my heart ache in my chest, feeling a wave of guilt wash over me in that moment.
“And please don’t blame yourself.” He spoke up after a few more moments and I breathed out a small
laugh because that was exactly what I had been doing.
“I’m so glad you’re safe.” I finally murmured.
“Me too. I knew you’d come for me.” Was his response and I felt my heart ache in a good way.

After leaving the condo, I went to see Aria. Although there was already some changes, she was still yet
to come out of the coma, but the doctor was positive she’d be out soon.
After that, I headed straight to the underlords, because there was still a lot more digging that I had to
do.
——-
The days went by really fast and three days later, something came up that required me traveling out of
the country, and there was no way I couldn’t attend to it in person, and so I talked with James about
how things were going to go.
He hadn’t really been surprised when I had informed him that I was going to be taking Sofia with me, This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
and had instead snickered how I was disgustingly in love with my wife, which I pretended not to have
heard.
When I had informed Sofia that she was going to accompany me the very next day and that we were
going to be away for five ti seven days, she had been so damn excited, making me laugh at how cute
she was being.
