Chapter 331
Chapter 331
James’ pov
“Finally…” I muttered as I dragged in a deep breath. I was currently outside the venue where the
meeting had finally been held at.
After some coffee had gotten spilled on me yesterday morning by a stranger who had probably scraped
her hands when she had fallen, and had then proceeded to make matters worse by rubbing her
bleeding hands over my shirt. It had all ended up in her fainting and I had had no other choice than to
take her over to the hospital that morning, therefore automatically canceling the meeting which I had
spent months trying to put together.
I had been really pissed yesterday, and thankfully, the people had agreed to reschedule the meeting to
the very next day after I had thankfully managed to convince them to do that.
And now, it is finally over. And of course, the deal had been signed. I was going to put a call through to
Luca tonight to tell him the good news, but right now? My empty stomach was reminding me that I
needed to put something inside.
I was driving towards any nearby restaurant when I got a call, which I didn’t bother checking before
accepting.
It was the doctor whom I had handed the stranger to yesterday’s morning.
“Can I help you?” I asked almost immediately.
“The patient you brought in yesterday is still yet to wake up sir, that’s why I called.“
“What?”
“But it’s nothing too serious, she should be awake before tomorrow, I was just calling to keep you
updated.” The doctor responded almost immediately.
To think I had first thought the stranger had been pretending to had fainted, not knowing that it was
even more serious than I had thought.
“Let me know if there’s any changes.” Was the last thing I said before the call ended, and I forgot all
about the unknown girl when I parked before a restaurant, some moments later.

I had got a call the next morning from the doctor, informing me that the girl has finally woken up. I told
him I was going to come by later today, and then the call ended.
I didn’t stay at work a lot today, because I had some other important things that I needed to do.
I have a good relationship with my siblings, and my immediate younger sister who had gotten married
four years ago, was expecting a baby really soon, and I offered to come by today, to see her and her
first child who was a cute three year old girl named Mara, who was in love with me.
I loved children. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Because, what’s not to love about them? They’re so cute and adorable and the innocent and oh so
lovable, and the amount of times I’ve gifted Mara gifts after gifts, my immediate younger sister named
Zara, had threatened to send me home with any other gift I dare purchase for her child because in her
opinion, I’ve gifted Mara way too much gifts at this point. But I was going to ignore her threat and get
Mara a couple of cute teddy bears today because I knew Mara loved them, and I also knew Zara’s
threats were completely empty.

“Jaymezz!” Mara sequeled as soon as she saw me and wiggled out of her very pregnant mother’s arms
to fly into my arms and I lifted her up and cooed at her as she showered my face with very wet baby
kisses that only made me laugh.
Zara was scowling at me, as soon as she noticed the package in my other hand, which I dumped
beside her when she made no move to accept it.
“You had better take that back with you, James.” She warned but I ignored her and ruffled her hair a
little.
“Mara would fall in love with them.” I said to Zara who only scowled harder at me. “She’s freaking three,
James. She doesn’t know how to not fall in love with every present from you.”
“Which is why kids are the best, she even appreciates my gifts more, unlike some certain person.”
“Her room is brimming with gifts and the room alongside hers, you should seriously stop wasting
money, James.” Zara said when I finally sank into the seat beside her. Mara was quick to start climbing
all over me.
“You might as well stop bothering at this point, Zara. Because I’d still keep doing whatever I want.” I
said to her with a grin.
“I hate you.” She mumbled and I snickered.
“You love me.”
“Unfortunately, and Mara is completely smitten with you.” She murmured and then she let out a slow
sigh when I finally huffed her as best as I could in our current position.
“How are you fairing?” I asked and she rolled her eyes.
“Very pregnant.” Was her response, and then she was pulling my now slobber filled tie out of Mara’s
reach.
“No, Mara, no. No putting this in your mouth because it’s gross! I wonder where it has been in.”
“Somewhere you don’t wanna know.” I drawled out, and then I was laughing when she attempted to
take her child away from me while regarding me with a disgusted expression on.
“Relax, sis. I was kidding.”

When I arrived at the hospital that evening, the stranger was awake and sitting in the bed. Her hair was
down this time and I was surprised at how long it was.
Her eyes snapped up as soon as she noticed my presence and her mouth fell open instantly, making
me suppress an eye roll.
She had a pair of bright emerald green eyes and freckles dusted the spots beneath her eyes and over
her cheeks, along with the top of her nose. Her lips were a dark shade of pink and overall, I’ve got to
admit that she did look beautiful.
“What’s your name?” I found myself asking and watched as she blinked those huge eyes of hers.
“It’s Blair.”
I cleared my throat and averted my gaze after realizing that I had been staring at her without saying a
thing for a few moments.
“So, do you have someone you’d like to call? To know you’re here and not kidnapped or something.” I
asked and to my shock, watched as she shook her head in response.
“I have no one to call.”
