Chapter 399
Chapter 399
Luca’s POV
After Sofia left, I went back into the bedroom and laid over the bed, reflecting over the conversation
which we’ve just had.
The only problem about the conversation was the fact that I hadn’t told her the reason for my pulling
away from her.
But, there was no way I could actually tell her.
Which was why I had agree to let her go out, right in the middle f the conversation.
Which, if I had been her dom, would have been extremely disrespectful and would be her asking for
some punishment.
But, she didn’t know about that dynamic yet, and what’s currently on ground is something really
serious.
I didn’t even bother reaching out to James cause I wasn’t in the mood to talk. All I really wanted to do
right now, was to hold Sofia in my arms and fall asleep on her soft thighs while her small hands run
through my hair.
I let out a small sigh as I turned around on the bed, lying on my side. The bedroom feels empty and
deserted in a way, and I didn’t like how it felt.
A lot of dangers was currently lurking out, telling from what happened yesterday at the exhibition
center, which was why I picked up my phone to shoot Ethan a text for them to be extra careful and to
shot me a text should anything happen.
After that, I laid in bed for sometime.
I didn’t know when I dozed off, but when I woke up, it was already two hours since I fell asleep.
I let out a few curses as I rolled out from the bed and scrubbed my hand over my face.
Fuck. I must have been way more tired than I realized, seeing how much I had slept just like that.
I washed my face and scrolled through my phone, completely ignoring the notifications and feeling
bummed in a way that there was no message whatsoever from Sofia.
On a normal day, she’d have sent me pictures and videos which she took in the car, or with her friend
Kayla.
But, that wasn’t the case now.
And I didn’t like it.
Which was why, it didn’t take me long to conclude within myself that I was going to pick her up.
I wasn’t sure she was going to like that, seeing as the state we had both been in before she had angrily
began to go get dressed to go out, right in the middle of our conversation.
But, regardless of that, I was still going to go pick her up today. Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.

Tonight, I drove myself.
I rarely did that, because of all the stress I go through on a daily basis right from the companies I ran, to
the mafia business, it was going to be way to stressful for me to still keep on driving as well, which was
why I had hired a driver in the first place.
As usual, he was still jumpy around me.
I drove my Lamborghini to Travis’ house, hoping that both girls would be over there and not be
somewhere else entirely, because I didn’t want to call Sofia before showing up tonight.
After about fifty minutes because the traffic was only a little, i pulled into Travis’ compound, the guards
opened the door as soon as hey recognized who I was.
I waited in my car and glanced at the watch over my wrist. It was some minutes past seven in the
evening.
I decided to wait, knowing that she’d soon emerge from the house very soon.
As soon as her two guards noticed me, they made their way towards me instantly. I dismissed them for
the day right after.
After about eight minutes, Sofia energies with her friend who was cradling a cute little pet. I watched as
Sofia leaned down to kiss the pet softly. The sight was so soft, it brought a small smile to my lips.
It didn’t take long for Sofia to notice me, and I watched as her mouth fell open. The sight made me
almost chuckle as I watch her glance around her for guards and the car she had come in.
I made my way towards the patio which she was still standing on, and then I spoke.
“Hello, Kayla.” I said with a small nod of her head. Kayla was grinning and I watched as she nudged
Sofia a little as she made to response.
“Hello, Luca. Sofia is just leaving, did you come pick her up yourself?”
I watched Sofia’s face as I responded. “Yes, I did.”
“That’s so sweet! Sofia would like that.” She gushed out and I watched as Sofia slanted her friend a
betrayed look as she spoke.
“I won’t – uh, I mean, I won’t mind going back home the same way I came here? And you probably
something important to do.”
“I already dismissed your guards, so I’ll be taking you hone, and no, I don’t have anything more
important to do now.”
Kayla let out a squeal that made Sofia slant her another pointed look before she finally, reluctantly
agreed to come with me.
It could also be because she didn’t have any choice right now.
I watched as she hugged Kayla goodbye, who whispered something into her ear that made color flood
Sofia’s cheeks.
After we had both settled into the car, Sofia waved at her friend one last time as I drove out of the
compound.
Instead of driving home, I drone to somewhere else.
As expected, Sofia recognized it as soon as we arrived, if her gasp was telling enough.
The elevator did its thing and it didn’t take us long to be on the roof of the building.
A few minutes passed and the silence stretched between us. Sofia was walking around a little while
staring into the sky when I drew near her and asked her if she remembered this place.
“Of course I do. Like I’d ever forget. This is the place where we had our first date at.”
Different feelings filled up my heart at that response.
At that moment, I took her two hands in mine to softly kiss them.
In a small voice, I began to explain how selfish I am, in case she didn’t know that yet.
“I’m an extremely bad person who doesn't deserve you, but I can’t stop myself from wanting you to
myself every damn time.”
Her eyes were wide as she stared at me, and so I continued.
“You’re an angel. A beautiful, gorgeously gorgeous one. I’m the complete opposite of that.”
“But… you’re my angel.” She whispered in response and I felt the breath freeze in my throat for a
moment.
I shook my head. “You don’t know what you’re saying, bunny. You’re the angel here, not me.”
“To me, you’re my angel. Angels are supposed to save people, right? You saved me, without realizing
it.” She echoed out, slinging so damn earnest and honest, that I felt my eyes start to mist up.
“Oh, bunny.” I whispered as I dropped her hands to cup her face, inching closer to her.
“Will you tell me why?” She asked and she didn’t need to elaborate for me to know what she was
referring to.
“I did something bad, but I cannot mention it. You need
to know that I’d never ever hurt you, not on purpose at least. I– I care about you a whole damn lot. It’s
insane, but I don’t want things to still keep being this way. I want it to go back to normal, yeah?”
She inched closer to me and I felt her hands inch up my chest to weave around my shoulder, and so
without second thoughts, I let go of her face to lift her up, walking towards one of the chairs up here
and sinking down in it.
I tugged her against me hard, till there wasn’t an inch of space between us.
It felt like so many things and not enough things were happening to us at once. Sofia was trembling
against me, and her hands was buried in my hair.
She was whispering my name like a prayer and a few whimpers were slipping out, while I was busy to
suck as much marks as I could into her throat at the same time.
I couldn’t believe I’ve gone weeks without this.
Weeks without feeling her heart pound fast against mine.
Weeks without feeling her lithe weight atop mine.
Weeks without feeling like I was about to burst out of my skin from the desperation to have my mouth
on every part of her body at once.
I was about to slant my mouth my mouth over hers when suddenly, a loud gunshot echoed in the air
that made Sofia jolt in my arms, a shrill, startled scream tearing out of her throat and then she buried
her face in my throat, trembling hard against me when another gunshot echoed in the sky, a few
seconds later.
“We are under an attack. Shit.” I whispered to myself, tightening my hands around Sofia’s small waist
just as three more gunshots echoed in the open sky, from different directions.
Fuck.
