Chapter 83
Chapter 83
Although Olivia knew that Daniel was exaggerating, she had to admit that his words hit her weak spot.
With the Sullivan family’s background and Isabella’s love for Andrew, no matter who married into the Sullivan family, no one would dare to lay their hands on Andrew.
However, Andrew was still young and accidents would possibly happen. If anything happened, it would be enough to destroy Andrew’s life.
Olivia fell silent.
She was indeed considering it, but she didn’t want to be hasty. She needed to think carefully.
Seeing Olivia’s interest, Daniel did not press further. Instead, he changed the topic. “Aren’t you curious about how I found you here?”
Olivia lifted her gaze.
Daniel’s eyes skimmed over her soft and tender lips, and his gaze dimmed suddenly. He spoke in a faint voice, “Because Andrew is sick and has been pestering me to look for you, I found out that you’re here.” “What’s wrong with Andrew? Did he catch a cold and have a fever?” Olivia became concerned. She realized that since Andrew had fallen into the water, she had returned to the Taylor family and hadn’t visited him yet. “Yeah, he has a high fever and has been delirious,” Daniel’s expression turned serious. “Could you come with me later?”
Olivia nodded instinctively in agreement, but then she thought of Amelia and hesitated.
Daniel noticed Olivia’s hesitation and said indifferently, “Is there anything more important than Andrew?”
This sentence made up her mind entirely. Olivia stood up and said, “Let’s go.”
After saying that, she suddenly thought of Daniel’s sudden appearance and furrowed her eyebrows slightly. “How did you get here?”
The Taylor family’s residence wasn’t an ordinary rural household. Even a thief would have trouble getting in since the place was covered in infrared sensors.
Despite the large yard and few visible security personnel, it was brimming with surveillance cameras. As long as an outsider triggered the alarm, a dozen or even hundreds of bodyguards would appear in an instant. They were all mercenaries.
Daniel didn’t seem concerned and tilted his head, raising an eyebrow. “Is there anywhere in this world that I can’t go?”
Olivia was briefly taken aback, then she turned her head away and started laughing so hard her shoulders shook.
“What are you laughing at?” Daniel’s face turned dark.
Olivia really didn’t want to laugh, but she couldn’t control it. She turned back with a smile. “Just now, were you being what they call ‘dashing‘? As a CEO, you can fly across the sky and do anything, there’s nowhere you can’t go?”
Upon hearing the word CEO, Daniel’s heart skipped a beat and he
trembled slightly. He stood up instantly and held Olivia’s shoulder. His voice was trembling as well. “Livy, do you remember? Did you remember something?”
Olivia looked puzzled. “Remember what?”
A tinge of disappointment flashed through Daniel’s eyes. He released her shoulders dejectedly. “I’m sorry, I got it wrong.”
“It’s okay.” Olivia curved her lips into a smile. On the surface, she seemed fine, but deep inside, she felt a silent sense of loss.
Who did he mistake her for? What made him so excited?
Was it Andrew’s mother?
Olivia took a deep breath and pushed down the disappointment in her heart.
At this point, Daniel regained his usual composure and explained seriously, “It was William who let me in.”
Given Daniel’s status, he wouldn’t easily do something that would break the law. Even if he were pushing boundaries, he wouldn’t engage in such activities. Sneaking into someone’s private residence might sound. romantic in a Romeo and Juliet context.
But in reality, it was trespassing.
Who knows how many pairs of eyes were on Daniel? He wouldn’t risk doing something like this. If there was even a slight mistake or if news leaked, the Taylor Group’s stock would plummet immediately.
Only in novels would a foolishly in–love CEO do such a thing.
For Daniel, there were many ways to enter the Taylor family’s residence. He didn’t need to resort to breaking. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
A simple phone call would have William respectfully invite him in.
Daniel asked, “How do you want to leave? Are you going to sneak away?”
Olivia smiled back and shook her head. She glanced at Daniel with a touch of pride. “No, we’ll leave openly. I’m not a criminal. Why should I sneak around?”
As she said this, she exuded an air of pride, completely different from the previous sense of loss.
“Let’s go.” Olivia adjusted her clothes and led the way towards the door. There were a few bodyguards stationed outside. Once they saw Olivia, they looked like they wanted to stop her. However, seeing Daniel behind her, they stepped back, lowered their heads, and appeared docile.
They let Olivia pass.
The exit of the basement was outside, so they couldn’t directly enter the living room. Therefore, after walking out, Daniel asked, “Do you want to go in?”
Olivia raised her eyebrows slightly and looked at Daniel. “Of course, I have to go in. I still have something to deal with.” She paused and added, “Wait here for a moment.”
Saying that, she walked toward the main entrance.
At this moment, the living room was brightly lit. The faint sounds of a violin could be heard from within. The music was pure and joyful, like the flow of a clear spring in one’s heart.
In the living room, Liam was seated in the main position, with Yvonne by his side. On the sofa beside them were Samuel and Amelia. Emma was standing in the center, bowing her head while holding a violin. Everyone in the room was immersed in the melancholic yet cheerful melodies of the violin. Olivia’s arrival felt like the most discordant note, disrupting the otherwise cheerful and harmonious atmosphere.
The butler was the first to notice Olivia’s presence, and he subconsciously wanted to stop her. However, he hesitated and looked toward Liam.
Liam held his walking stick and did not speak.
At this moment, Samuel and Amelia also saw Olivia. Both of them wore expressions of displeasure and irritation.
Especially, Amelia was in frustration. She loved the violin the most. When she was young, she even held a violin solo concert. Later on, she gave up on the violin because she got married.
When listening to the violin, she hated to be disturbed.
Her emotions were no longer as intense as a few days ago. Amelia had been a noble lady in the Taylor family for many years and she didn’t like to act rashly or maliciously.
That was the behavior of a shrew that couldn’t bear the light of day, something Amelia disdained to engage in.
Afraid of disturbing Emma’s violin, she waved her hand to summon Sophia, her trusted aide, with a cold tone. “What are you doing? Even flies can get in here. It’s disgusting. Get rid of them quickly.”
Ever since she decided to give up on Olivia as her daughter, she no longer had any feelings for her. She maintained an aloof attitude, looking down on her completely.
In her eyes, Olivia was lower than a servant, akin to flies and mosquitoes. It was best to swat them away. If she couldn’t swat them, she should at least chase them off. She didn’t want to waste even a hint of her attention.
Sophia understood Amelia’s intentions and gradually stepped back. She approached Olivia silently and whispered, “I’m sorry, but this is not a place for you. Please leave.”
Her tone was extremely cold, laced with blatant disdain.
It was like a waitress in a high–class restaurant facing beggars who suddenly barged in. Although she wouldn’t chase them away violently, she was arrogant and disdainful.
Olivia did not feel ashamed or inferior because of Sophia’s attitude. She didn’t even feel angry or bother to look at Sophia.
Lifting her heel slightly, Olivia waited until a particular note was being played by Emma, and then she suddenly lowered her heel to the ground.
With a soft slap sound, not particularly forceful or loud, it nonetheless instantly disrupted Emma’s rhythm.
Emma looked at Amelia when she furrowed her brows. Her heart sank, but she didn’t stop. She continued playing the violin.
The reason Emma could earn so much affection from Amelia was that she had always pleased her, catering to her every whim. She had become the perfect daughter in Amelia’s eyes.
After struggling to find her tempo, Emma continued playing the violin. However, Olivia tapped her heel again.
Her rhythm was disrupted once more.
After that, no matter how she tried to adjust, she couldn’t regain the complete tune.
Eventually, Emma’s frustration reached its peak. She stopped playing and lowered the violin bow.
