Chapter 10: Doctor's Visit

Chapter 10: Doctor's Visit

After hearing Gavin's words, I was moved. He was not the same Gavin who had persuaded me to have

an abortion. I kind of wanted to ask him if he had a twin brother.

After that, the taxi driver, under the threat of Gavin, hurried to the hospital without stopping. Gavin

carried me while I walked to the hospital. I became embarrassed and said, "I can walk by myself. You

can drop me off."

"Shut up. You might fall again, and if something happens, I can't afford to be guilty."

I snorted and let him carry me up the stairs. Gavin found a young female doctor and breathed a sigh of

relief. "Janet, it's good you are here! Can you take a look at her?"

Seeing that Gavin was holding a patient in critical condition, Janet also put away the casebooks she

was reading. Then she asked Gavin to put me on the hospital bed and asked, "What's wrong with

you?"

"I am pregnant. I have just come across something. I have been beaten and I am very uncomfortable,

so I have come in for an examination."

After hearing this, Janet quickly prepared the machine to check the child's condition. After a while she

said, "The baby is fine. You do not have anything to worry about. You just need to get plenty of rest."

Gavin asked immediately, "Does she need to take any medicine?" Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

"She's doing fine. I'll just prescribe her some nutrition medicine. Besides, she does not have a good

rest these days. It's strictly forbidden for pregnant women and has negative effects on the fetus and

her. So from now on, you should not tease her. Otherwise, whether your child can be saved or not will

be our next problem."

The doctor's words sent my heart into a panic. If Gavin found out the baby was his, all my previous

efforts would be for nothing.

To my surprise, Gavin did not deny it. He took the prescription Janet gave him and went to pay. I had to

explain myself, "Doctor Janet, right? Mr. Stone and I are just friends. He saw me being harassed on the

street and helped me out. The kid is not his."

Janet nodded and suddenly realized, "No wonder. I was actually wondering how he could have a child

so soon when he was dumped just a couple of weeks back."

When I heard the word "dumped" I thought of the first time I went to Gavin's house and bumped into

him, mistaking me for his "home service." It seemed that the precious necklace he was giving away

once belonged to his wife. I had always been very curious about their relationships. What kind of

woman would throw Gavin and his gifts out the door?

Gavin did not leave me and Dr. Janet alone for a long time. Then he came back with a lot of bags.

Janet saw him and exclaimed, "God, you bought so many things in such a short time! Where did you

buy all this?"

Gavin said lightly, "Some of it is medicine you prescribed for her, and the rest I bought when I went to a

nearby pharmacy and shop, and the people there recommended it to me."

Janet looked through the things in his bag while clicking her tongue. "You really are a young rich

bachelor in Denver. You bought so many in such a short time. Unfortunately, it's all food that pregnant

women can not eat. You must be really rich!"

Gavin was stunned. "She can't eat them? But they suggested these to me..."

"Oh, come now, Gavin. They sold you these things to make money. Of course they gave you things you

did not need. I can see you do not know what pregnant women can and can not eat. All this is a waste

of money."
