Chapter 56 lying
Chapter 56 lying
My words were true. Hearing this, Christopher's body stiffened. His passionate gaze paused for a while
before it became somewhat disheartened. Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
"Jasmine, I know I'm not that rich now, but trust me, I'll be richer than Vincent in the future!"
I let out a long sigh. Suddenly, I felt a little pain in my heart and wanted to touch Christopher's head.
However, after a brief pause, I withdrew my hand. "Whether you're better than Vincent or not, that's
only your business. But you've been despicable for what you have done to me. If I forgive you, then I
wouldn't have any principles anymore!"
"So you still think that Vincent is better, don't you?"
Perhaps it was because he failed to persuade me back using all means, so his patience ran out and
suddenly became irritable. He suddenly stood up, picked up his phone from the table and said. "since
you reckon I am such a despicable person, I'll have nothing to say. Now call Vincent. Make up
whatever reason you want. Just tell him that you still want to be with me! "
After that, he gave his phone to me. I then said, "I will call him with my phone later!"
It was only because I hadn't decided yet how to talk to Vincent about this, so I was perfunctory. But of
course Christopher could see that. He thrust his phone directly into my hand and threatened, "If you
don't call him now, I'll!"
I stared at him speechless. Knowing that I had to cooperate, I picked up the phone and dialled
Vincent's number. No one answered it for a ling time. This was exactly what I wanted, so I gave the
phone back to him, "He doesn't answer it!"
Christopher had no choice. He thought for a moment before his tone relaxed a little. "Are you hungry? I
will cook for you."
"No!" I refused him without thinking.
He paused and looked at me for a full minute. Without knowing what he was thinking, he suddenly
turned and went into the kitchen. I knew he went to cook for me.
Indeed, Christopher was a very talented person with good capabilities. If there wasn't the car accident,
he would have had a nice job in a company, for which he could be paid about 30,000 a month.
Although his salary was far less than Vincent, Vincent's money was mostly given by his family.
Christopher made a living by himself.
Probably, as Christopher had said, if I hadn't gone to that party with him, I would have met Vincent. In
this way, we could have had a normal life.
But now there was no point in reminiscing about the past. Christopher and Naomi had taken so many
naked photos of me that I had to listen to them. The only thing I could do was to leave Vincent.
I turned around to look at Christopher's figure in the kitchen. In a trance I suddenly felt that we went
back to the past, when there wasn't betrayal or scheming.
But we really couldn't be like what we were before this time, no matter there was a Vincent or not.
Christopher finished cooking and called me eat. I followed him silently into the kitchen. He made four
dishes that I was into. When he saw me holding the chopsticks but refusing to eat, Christopher
patiently picked up some dishes for me and said softly "Have some. These are all your favourite.
Haven't you always love my cooking?"
I then answered wryly, "People's tastes change. I learned how to enjoy after I was with Vincent. I don't
like these anymore!"
Actually, I said that on purpose to irritate him. Christopher paused for a moment, and suddenly he
heaved a sad sigh and raised his head to look at me, "Do you have to do this?"
He knew that I was deliberately irritating him, so he asked me this. I suddenly asked him with a
stubborn tone, "Don't you like it? Let me tell you, I can be back, but I'll only be like this every day. If you
think you can accept it, then do whatever you want!"
Christopher was so angry at my words that his whole body began to tremble. He said: "Good, very
good, Jasmine. Is that your answer?"
"Yes, this is my answer!" I put down my chopsticks and answered him in a sonorous tone.
As if he were aroused, he suddenly rose from his chair and turned towards the living room. As I
wondered what he was up to, he went back with my new phone and dialled Vincent's number.
Strangely, Vincent picked up the phone the moment it rang. Maybe he hadn't pick it up last time
because it was Christopher.
A soft voice came from the other side of the phone. "We just haven't met for a few hours. Already miss
me? Huh?"
Hearing this, my face changed. I immediately rose from my chair and stared coldly into Christopher's
eyes. I wanted to see what he was up to.
Christopher, however, just grinned. He casually handed me the phone and indicated that I should take
it. We remained silent for more than ten seconds until Vincent sensed that something was
wrong, "Jasmine, are you listening?" he asked hurriedly.
A cold, determined smile appeared on Christopher's lips. His provocative look clearly indicated to me
that it was time to make good on the promise I had just made to him.
I bit my lip and took the phone. "Vincent, I put my phone in my bag just now. I accidentally called!"
I deliberately lied to Vincent. He didn't think much about it, but just laughed lightly and asked, "Why are
you so careless? Did you go to check the house today? Are you satisfied? We'll sign it tomorrow. I've
done the money!"
I paused and walked out of the kitchen. Then I went to the bedroom and closed the door.
It wasn't that I didn't want Christopher to hear, but there was something that I really didn't know how to
directly tell Vincent.
"Well, I checked the house, but I..." I paused for a long time and finally worked up the courage to tell
him. "But I still can not make up my mind. I just moved back to Christopher today!"
