Chapter 72 Wait For Me

All the way, Louis wore a sour expression, with Sam feeling jittery.

Suddenly, Louis turned to look in Blanche's direction and instructed Sam something. On hearing this, Sam nodded.

Blanche was quietly picking oranges, but she was still feeling bitter. She was even called crazy. The more she thought about it, the angrier she became. Blanche plucked a piece of wild grass next to her and snapped it off in frustration.

"You are the one who's crazy."

The phone rang, and Brendon answered it. After hanging up, Blanche saw him looking at her with an apologetic face.

"I'm sorry, but I can't accompany you to pick oranges anymore. I need to go home."

Blanche nodded. "You go ahead."

After saying this, Brendon turned around and left.

Turning her head, Blanche tried hard to divert her bitterness. She looked at the people scattered all over the hillside, thinking that with so many people, they must be able to pick a lot of oranges. All the welfare institutes in Cloud City should be able to get some oranges.

Yet, the reality was a stark contrast. Before long, murmurs of conversation began to flow from those around.

"What's so good about picking oranges? Don't let me get tanned. Whoever wants to pick them can go ahead. Anyway, I'm not willing to. My hands are precious."

"That's right. We will just pick a few to deal with it later. This activity is supposed to be for relaxation. Mr. Herbart is not really asking us to pick a lot of oranges."

"Let's go under the tree to cool down. I've recently set my eyes on a makeup product that launched today. I need to grab it fast. Slow hands lose."

Looking over, Blanche saw everyone was covering up tightly, afraid of getting tanned by the sun.

People were either chit-chatting or playing with their phones, and no one was picking oranges.

Blanche felt her enthusiasm had gone down the drain, she had just searched for the welfare institutions in Cloud City, and there were quite a few.

"Heh, you really are from a low birth, picking oranges so diligently. I heard you were always oppressed by Dany and Nicole. You must not have seen such good oranges before." Cathy appeared again, wearing a huge sun hat, afraid of the sun tanning even a bit of her skin.

Blanche turned her head. "You're right. There are many things I haven't seen before. For instance, someone as deceitful and petty as you is entirely new to me."

"Humph, no matter how petty and deceitful I am, I can't compare with you. Don't forget what shameless acts did you use to marry Louis, and everything I did was to drive you, the evil little person, away from Louis."

Cathy wasn't satisfied just saying that. She raised her hand and plucked an orange, and threw it into the ditch next to her, showing her great anger.

Blanche was speechless, for such a good orange was thrown away. This wasteful behavior was really shameful.

As for the words Cathy scolded, Blanche was indifferent. Since she scolded so vigorously, if she didn't respond, it would be Cathy who would be upset.

Sure enough, after standing for a while, Cathy became even more angry when she found that Blanche didn't react at all.

"You still say you're not a vixen. In a while, you're already chatting with a stranger. If this is not a vixen, what is it?"

Giving Cathy a cold glance, Blanche buried her head and continued picking oranges. She knew that Cathy was talking about Brendon, but she didn't utter a word.

The sun was scorching, and the heat was already draining a person's energy, so she didn't want to waste more energy talking to irrelevant people.

"Blanche, you can pretend to be indifferent, but I'm not done with you." Cathy turned around and ran towards Brendon, who was heading back.Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
