CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1007

Freya's sacrifice to save him this time left Micah unable to remain indifferent.

Meanwhile, Nina heard about what happened to Micah and how Freya had risked her life to save him. Concerned for her brother, Nina wanted to check on him.

But Nash stopped her. "If Micah were truly hurt, things wouldn't be this quiet. We would have heard something by now."

He had a point, but Nina could not just ignore Freya after hearing what happened. The two of them had started as rivals, so it did not feel right not to check on her now.

When Nina arrived, she found Micah by Freya's side. Knowing Freya's feelings for him, Nina decided not to disturb them and quietly turned to leave.

But before she could go, Pharaoh stopped her. "Nina, wait."

She turned to see him standing in front of her.

"Father," she greeted him, unsure why he had stopped her. Although she had accepted him as her father, their relationship was not like that of a typical father and daughter. Nina rarely sought him out.

After a moment of silence, Pharaoh finally spoke. "I hope you can help your brother."

"Father, I can't help with that," she replied. Matters of the heart were not something she could interfere with.

Pharaoh then shared with her what Micah had told him, as well as his own thoughts.

"You and Micah are both my children. Your mother passed away early, and that was because of my negligence. I want to make things right with both of you. I don't want your brother to spend his life burdened by responsibilities. I want him to be happy." After a pause, he added, "And I want you to be happy too."

Nina understood what her father

was saying Micah's refusal to accept Freya stemmed from his sense of duty. But if that sense of duty could be removed, perhaps he and Freya could find happiness together.

Pharaoh was asking her to talk to Micah.

Nina pressed her lips together, then said softly, "I'll do my best." But she knew that if Micah was unwilling, she could not force him.

Pharaoh quickly added, "It doesn't have to be with Freya. Just try to convince him not to be alone."

Nina nodded, understanding that Pharaoh simply wanted Micah to have someone by his side. But with Micah constantly at Freya's side and Freya still unconscious, there was not an easy way to bring up such a conversation. She decided to wait for the right moment.

Meanwhile, Nash was already looking at wedding dresses. He owed Nina a wedding, and now it was time to make that happen. But he kept it a secret, planning to surprise her with the wedding she deserved.

However, his eyelids were growing heavier by the minute. By the time Nina returned, Nash was already asleep. She moved quietly to cover him with a light blanket, but as she got closer, he murmured in adow voice, "Mira."

Nina froze mid-action.

Mira? Miranda?

She had not heard that name in a long time. Miranda was dead. Hearing Nash suddenly call out her name, Nina was shocked.

Did Miranda still hold such a place in his heart?

Nina's breath caught, and for a moment, she did not know how to feel.

She could not help but remember their first time together.

Back then, Nash had been drunk, and even then, he had whispered Miranda's name.
