Chapter 1028
Freya's voice was raspy as she spoke. "Micah, we've had a good time together these past few weeks, haven't we?"Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.
She stepped closer to him, tilting her head up to meet his gaze since he was much taller. His sharp features, like a perfectly sculpted work of art, were exactly the kind Freya was obsessed with. Micah pressed his lips together, his mind drifting back to their time together. It had indeed been enjoyable.
Freya had never thrown tantrums and she was always considerate of him. But the weight of responsibility on his shoulders was immense. He was leading the Yaren Tribe people, and much of his future would be dedicated to them. In the end, wouldn't he be neglecting Freya?
"Freya, you agreed to a month. People should keep their promises," Micah said quietly, trying to use the idea of honoring commitments to steer her away from further attachment.
Freya felt her throat tighten, her heart squeezed painfully. They say time reveals true feelings. Micah had seen her sincerity, yet he remained so stubborn!
Her breathing grew heavier. "Micah, it's true you're the leader of Yaren Tribe, and you're committed to helping our people progress. But you need a life, too. Just because you're a leader doesn't mean you can't marry."
Micah knew that was true, but the memory of his father's guilt over neglecting his mother still haunted him. He did not want to owe anyone anything, and if he had to sacrifice himself for Yaren Tribe, so be it.
"You're right, but I don't have the emotional bandwidth. Freya, one month is all I can offer you. Don't get your hopes up."
"No," Freya insisted, her voice resolute. "I want this, and I'll fight for it. I don't care about what you said. I understand you, and I believe that Yaren Tribe will flourish in the future.
"If you're worried about neglecting me, I can help you build a better Yaren Tribe. We can both be busy with our work, serving the people. How could you feel guilty then? "If you're worried about having children and neglecting them, we don't have to have any."
Her words, spoken so calmly and with such determination, left Micah stunned. Freya was willing to give up so much just to be with him, even her dreams of motherhood. When Micah remained silent, Freya thought he did not believe her. "If you don't believe me, I'll write it down for you right now."
"Forget it," Micah sighed, waving his hand. "You don't need to go that far. Just go rest."
He did not want to continue this conversation, Freya had already put in so much effort trying to win him over during the month they had agreed on, and he had hoped for some peace. But here she was, pushing forward again.
Sensing his frustration, Freya did not press the issue. She simply nodded quietly and left.
Nina and Nash decided to go on a honeymoon. Originally, they planned to leave Orion with Pharaoh, but Freya stepped in, patting her chest confidently. "Leave Orion with me. You two go enjoy your trip.
Nina raised an eyebrow. "Are you planning on staying in Birkham for good?"
Freya and Micah's relationship was not as intimate as that of typical couples, but the fact that Freya had manage to get this far with him was a result of her determination. She had put in a lot of effort
create this connection with Micah.
Freya likely had her own matters to attend to, and if they left the child with her...
