CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1040

Dominic could easily find someone to take charge if he really wanted to. Nash was convinced this might all be a trap, but to his surprise, Remi came back. She looked anxious. "Nash, the situation in Salterra is really bad right now. The President called me and asked me to bring you back.

"I know you want to stay with your wife, but if it weren't for the President saving you and taking care of you, how would you be standing here safely today?"

Her words were not wrong. However, after Nash regained consciousness, he had been consistently helping manage Salterra's affairs. He had even considered giving himself just one final year to wrap things up. However, Nina recognized him and everything started spiraling out of control.

"Give me a moment," Nash finally said, unable to fully resolve the inner conflict he was feeling.

Remi didn't protest and waited quietly. She knew how strong the bond was between Nash and Nina. If Nash was going to leave, he had to say goodbye to his wife first. The President had asked her to bring Nash back, but he had not ordered her to forcefully drag him away.

Nash approached Nina. She had overheard bits of the conversation between him and Remi, and there was only one thing she wanted, "If you're going back to Salterra, then you need to take me with you. I won't wait here alone again."

She had already spent five years waiting, enduring the agony of loneliness. She was not willing to go through that pain again. Whatever the outcome, she wanted to face it together with Nash.

Nash understood her feelings, but Salterra was too dangerous, and he could not risk taking her along.

"Nina, Orion and you are with me now, and I still want us to have a daughter too. Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to me this time. Just stay here in Birkham and wait for me, okay? But if I don't make it back, raise our son well and make sure he grows up strong." If it weren't for Dominic, Nash would have died in that river running through the Yaren Tribe. Now, with the unrest in Salterra, if he really had to give up his life, it would be like repaying Dominic for saving him.

But for Nina, that would be far too cruel.

Nash had promised her that no matter what, he would always keep her by his side, that he would never hide anything from her, and that they would be together as a family. But in the end...

Life was unpredictable. It never went as they wanted.

"Nash, what nonsense are you talking about? What do you mean, 'if you don't make it back'? You have to come back!" Nina screamed, her voice breaking with emotion.

Her tears flowed freely as she

pounded her fists against his chest.

"I was a war journalist for five years, and I was never afraid. And now you're telling me this is too dangerous? Nash, you're underestimating me!

"I want to go through this with you, but you're leaving me behind again. You keep making decisions and telling me afterward, without ever asking what I want. I hate that about you. And if you don't come back this time, I swear, I'll take our son and

remarry! I'll never carry your name

again!"

As she said that, the thought hit her. She had not even registered their son yet. Other children his age had birth certificates and IDs, but what did their son have?

It pained her deeply, but she could not blame Nash for it. He had saved her, and he had his own burdens to bear. Still, it felt unfair.

Why did fate treat her so harshly when she had not done anything wrong?Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

"Alright," Nash whispered, "if I don't

make it back then go ahead and remarry. I won't hold it against you. In fact, I'll be happy because it means you've found someone who will take care of you, someone worthy of your trust. Nina, my only regret in this life is that I've had to carry so much responsibility."
