Chapter 1047
"What Freya said made sense, but after working so hard for so long to win over Micah, shouldn't she protect what she fought so hard for?" the woman wondered. Seeing Freya's seemingly nonchalant attitude, the woman could not believe her. "And if I do win him over, you're saying you won't lose your mind over it?"
Freya's smile did not waver. "Why would I? If you can make Micah fall in love with you, then that's your skill. I should congratulate you both."
Her persistence with Micah came largely because there had been no other women around him. If someone else had come along, Freya would have simply wished them well, just as she was doing now.
The woman's expression turned cold. "Don't try to confuse me with your words. You think I can't compete with you, don't you? Don't worry, I'll make sure you see what I'm capable of!"
Freya understood. "So this is your declaration of war."
She was not afraid.
The woman hurried over to Micah without hesitation. He gave her a quick glance before looking away, his tone cold as he asked, "What do you need?"
"Teacher Micah... Don't you remember me? I'm Arin. Five years ago..." Arin's breath came faster, her whole body tense with urgency.
As soon as she said it, Micah recalled who she was. She was Arin, from the northern Yaren tribe, the girl who had once clashed with Nina. She had a younger brother, Sean. "What's the matter?"
Even though he remembered her, his tone remained detached, and there was no warmth in his demeanor.
Arin was not offended by Micah's aloofness. She knew he was preoccupied with leading the Yaren tribe and had little time for anything else.
What she cared about most was Micah's impending wedding to Freya.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
She could not stand the idea of him marrying a woman he did not love. If he had truly loved Freya, it would not have taken so long for him to be- swayed. In Arin's mind, Micah was simply moved by Freya's

persistence, not by genuine love.
Taking a deep breath, Arin finally mustered the courage to speak. "I'm here to stop you. You don't love Freya. You're only marrying her because you feel obligated, not because of love. If you go through with this, you'll regret it for the rest of your life!"
Micah was surprised that Arin had come to him with this purpose. He could not help but smile. "We haven't seen each other in years, and you think you know me well enough to say this? How can you be sure it's not love but pity?"
Initially, Micah had agreed to start the one-month trial period with Freya to avoid feeling indebted to her. Over time, however, her sincerity touched him. Freya was not trying to force him. She wanted to win his heart.
Arin seemed to think she understood him, but the truth was different.
It seemed that Arin had been quietly watching over him all along.
Because of his responsibilities, Micah had not let anyone get close to him. Yet, here were two women, both silently caring for him and making sacrifices on his behalf.
Micah did not want Freya to waste any more time, and he did not want Arin to keep holding on either.
With a gentle smile, Micah spoke softly, "Arin, you're a good person. I knew how you felt back when you had that disagreement with Nina."
He paused before continuing, "The reason I didn't allow anyone close before... was because I was afraid."
