Chapter 1065
Several people tried reaching Nash, but neither he nor Quincy answered their phones. They were both on a flight, unaware of the chaos unfolding. William, however, had one clear goal in mind. He wanted money and power. The assets he hadn't secured before, he was determined to claim now.
William's actions had caused such an uproar within York Corporation that even Zoe was alerted. She confronted him directly, her voice filled with frustration. "I've already told you everything, and Nash made his stance clear at the wedding. How can you still act like this?" "Nash hasn't been unkind to you, has he?"
It was Nash's competence that had pulled York Corporation back from the brink of collapse, transforming it into the thriving company it was today. And yet, here William was, trying to tear it all down.
But William wasn't interested in listening. "Sure, Nash built York Corporation into what it is today, but the problem is, I can't let myself end up penniless."
"If you didn't want to end up with nothing, why didn't you listen when Dad asked you to come back in the first place?" Zoe shot back. "And now you stand here talking like this? Don't you find it hypocritical?"
Zoe was the type of person who always spoke her mind. She never sugarcoated things, especially when it came to people and situations she didn't like.
And when it came to her brother, it wasn't just that he hadn't accomplished anything, he had only gotten worse. Zoe was deeply disappointed in him.
"That was then. This is now. I don't even know what to say to you," she added, her tone sharp.NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
"Then don't say anything," William retorted. "What I'm doing has nothing to do with you. Why are you so worried? Zoe, don't you understand that Nash isn't even really part of this family? So why are you siding with him?"
William's frustration had been building ever since Nash had refused him both money and access. Now, Zoe's criticism was pushing him over the edge.
Zoe's anger flared. "Siding with him?
Where were you when I was thinking about what was best for this family? You let Dad and Nash carry so much of your burden. And now, here you are, demanding money. If I were you, I wouldn't even have the nerve to stand here!
"If you don't want me to call the police and have you arrested, you'd better leave right now."
William stared at her in disbelief. How could his own sister, his blood relative, be siding with Nash against him?
He couldn't fathom that she would go so far as to threaten him with arrest to protect Nash.
Blinded by rage, William lashed out, striking Zoe hard across the face. "Zoe, I'm your older brother. Is this how you talk to me? I'm telling you, as long as York Corporation carries our family name, I will always have a claim to it!
"You may not want anything, but that doesn't mean I don't. If you and Nash want to stand together, I can't stop you, but if you get in my way, I swear, I'll make sure both you and Nash suffer."
William's anger boiled over as he realized that even his own family wasn't on his side. And then, an idea struck him.
Zoe and Nash were close, weren't they?
He decided that if he kidnapped Zoe, Nash would have no choice but to pay for her release.
True to his word, William acted swiftly.
As Zoe found herself being held
hostage, she looked at her brother with complete and utter
disappointment. "From this moment on, you are no longer my brother. The York family will never

acknowledge you again!"
