Chapter 1067
"Don't bother mocking me, Nash. You came here because you already know I've made changes to York Corporation, right? Let me be clear. I'm taking York Corporation, along with the rest of the family's assets," William said, lifting his chin like a defiant kid.
Nash took a sip of his drink and asked in a low voice, "Where's Aunt Zoe?"
He wasn't here to argue about the company. He wanted to know where Zoe was. On the way over, he had already sent people to check her house, and she was nowhere to be found, confirming his suspicions.
William's face froze for a moment before he let out a sinister chuckle. After a long, mocking laugh, he suddenly stopped and said, "If you want to see her, fine. Meet me at the office tomorrow and sign the transfer agreement. Give me back all the shares and rights." "And if I don't?"
"Then don't expect to see Zoe again. But you care about her, don't you? Of course, you do. I warned her not to side with you. I'm her brother after all. But she didn't listen," William sneered, his face twisted with malice.
Nash didn't bother with more words. He stood up, grabbed his car keys, and threw a cold glance at William. "You've stashed away quite a bit of cash, haven't you? Even bringing women home now. Your reputation is spreading. If you don't want to lose everything, you'd better know when to stop."
William snorted in response.
"You've seen my methods. If there's one thing I'm not good at, it's showing mercy," Nash said, walking out without looking back.
William, rattled by Nash's words, grumbled and stormed upstairs to vent his frustration on the woman.NôvelDrama.Org © content.
With no useful information from William, Nash turned his focus to the company's security footage. If Zoe had been at the office, there had to be a record of it.
Fortunately, Nash had kept some control over the system and could access the surveillance footage through his private computer.
Sure enough, Zoe appeared in the footage. Several employees had seen her, and she had gone straight to the top floor to meet with William. But after entering the CEO's office, she never reappeared.
"Could she still be at the company?" Nina asked, puzzled.
It seemed too bold of William to hide
her there. After all, Nash was stilkin charge of the company. Hidinge someone in the building seemed like a huge risk.
"Maybe he thinks the most obvious place is the safest?" she speculated, but Nash shook his head.
"I doubt it," he said, though a grim thought crossed his mind. "If that's the case... William is as good as dead."
Just then, the footage showed
William dragging a large suitcase out of the office. Nash and Nina exchanged a look and immediately focused on the screen.
William had taken the suitcase out of the building, and external surveillance couldn't track it. Nash quickly tapped into his network of contacts. Soon, a new video was sent to his phone, showing William bringing the large suitcase back to his villa.
"She's at his house," Nina said, slapping her thigh as the realization hit. "That makes more sense given his lack of caution."
"Should we go rescue her now?" she asked eagerly, ready to take action.
Nash shook his head. "I'll handle this. You stay with Orion and get him set up for school."
Understanding his intent, Nina nodded.
Nash didn't need to personally handle the rescue. The next morning, the woman who had spent the night at William's house was quietly escorted away.
Half an hour later, the police arrived and arrested William on charges of soliciting prostitution.
Just after the police left, a black car that had been waiting at the end of the street pulled up to the villa, and two men stepped out.
