Chapter 1076
"You're so thoughtful," Sally said with a hint of emotion. "To be honest, I almost forgot about that myself. Yes, I did once dream of settling in Ponyville, but..." She trailed off, leaving the rest unsaid, but everyone understood. Nina handed her a gift box with a smile. "Let's not dwell on anything unpleasant. This is a gift we prepared for you. Take a look and see if you like it."
Sally opened the box and was shocked to find a set of keys and a property deed inside. Her surprise only deepened when she realized the deed was for a home in Ponyville. Tears welled up uncontrollably. Nina stepped forward to comfort her. "You can choose anyone you want to accompany you, and we've already taken care of the medical team. Nash has made sure everything is arranged."
Zoe was stunned. She had suspected Sally's sudden family gathering had ulterior motives and had been worried Nash might lose out.
But now it was clear. Nash never lets himself get taken advantage of. The promise of a home in Ponyville had worked like magic.
Sally immediately agreed to relinquish all her claims to the family's assets and entrusted Nash with full control of the York Corporation.
In short, Sally would enjoy her retirement in peace, leaving everything else to Nash.
As they left the venue, Zoe couldn't help but burst into laughter. Everyone knew that with this, York Corporation had finally found its true stability.
"You're really something, Nash. But how did you know she wanted to settle in Ponyville?" Zoe asked, still puzzled.
Nina was just as curious, watching Nash intently.
Nash started the car and drove for a while before answering, "When Xavier approached her, I made sure to keep an eye on things. I bribed Sally's caregiver, and right after Xavier left, I got the information."
It all made sense now. Both women suddenly thought of the same question and asked in unison, "So, will Sally take that caregiver with her?"
"Without a doubt," Nash replied with a knowing smile.
Both women rolled their eyes at him. They realized the caregiver would be a planted monitor, watching over Sally abroad.
Two days later, Sally eagerly left for Ponyville. Everyone gathered at the airport to see Sally off. Even though Nina knew it was all part of the pfan, she still made sure to remind Sally of important things to keep in mind while living abroad.
With Sally's departure, peace finally returned to Birkham. Zoe let out a long sigh. "It suddenly feels like everything's changed."
"Then hurry up and get married
already. Don't forget about
tomorrow's party," Nash said sternly,
giving her a reminder before
whisking Nina away in the car.
Left behind and fuming, Zoe was about to hail a cab when she realized her purse was still in Nash's car. She sighed in frustration. "Zoe!"
Hearing a familiar voice behind her, she turned around and was startled to see Michael approaching.
"Fancy running into you here," she said, trying to hide her awkwardness.
"I think I just saw your girlfriend leave another man. Did you two have a fight?" Michael's words sounded caring, but Zoe could tell he was fishing for information.
Zoe smiled politely. "That was her family. Anyway, I've got something to take care of."
Spotting a cab pulling up, she quickly got in, only for Michael to slide into the seat beside her.

They both gave the same destination, surprising the driver, who chuckled, "You two are really in sync. I'll just charge you one fare."
Zoe wanted to get out, but before she could say anything, the driver started the car and pulled away from the airport.
The ride was silent and awkward, with Michael trying to make conversation while Zoe remained distant.
When they finally arrived at York Corporation's building, Zoe realized she had neither her phone nor any money. Reluctantly, she turned to Michael. "Could you cover the fare for now? I'll pay you back later."
