Chapter 261
Chapter 261
“Who was calling?” He asked as he walked out of the bathroom with a towel tied around his waist.
“I don’t know, you should check it yourself,” she said and he nodded and picked up the phone before going to the balcony to answer the phone call.
Tears welled up in her eyes as pain and anger surged through her spine.
She needed to find out who Matthew was and why he was hiding his real identity. She wondered if their first meeting was a coincidence or a setup.
She then stood up from the bed and walked out of the room. She brought out her phone and texted one of her old-time investigator.
“I need you to find out who Alexander Robert is” she texted and then went back to the room and laid on the bed.
Just then Matthew walked back inside the room.
“Are you alright?” He asked as he dropped his phone by the bedside, and walked towards Jessica, and sat beside her on the bed.
“Yeah, I’m alright, I’m okay-”
“I would be heading out to see my aunt, I would be back later in the day,” he said and she nodded. He kissed her lightly on her cheeks before standing up to get dressed.
When he was done, he took his phone and then walked out of the house, hopped inside his car, and zoomed off.
The moment he had left, Jessica stood up, put on a simple dress, walked out of the house, hopped inside her car, and zoomed off as she decided to follow him.
She needed to know who his aunt was and she needed to know everything about him.
Jessica parked her car by the side of the road as she watched Matthew climb out of his car that was parked in front of an eatery.
He stood by the car, made some calls, and suddenly, an advanced man came out of the eatery, gave him an envelope and Matthew gave him a file in exchange.
He lied he was going to see his aunt! Jessica muttered as tears welled up in her eyes. She wondered how long he had been lying to her.
She wondered what they were exchanging. She brought out her phone and took a picture of them both. She needed to find out who that man was and what Matthew was up to.
Matthew then stared around, entered this car, and zoomed off.
“Betrayer!” she muttered as she pushed back the tears that were threatening to spill. She ignited the engine, zoomed off, and trailing behind him.
Meanwhile, Lisa and Mellisa are seen outside the shopping mall, putting all the things they’ve shopped in the car booth.
Mellisa then turned to Lisa.
“Can we go see my grandma?” she asked and she turned to her.
“No, Adrianna. We can’t, I need to visit the saloon to do my nails and my hair,” she said and Mellisa pouted.
“Please, I miss her already and I know she misses me too, I just want to see if she’s alright and getting better-”
“I thought we had an agreement, no seeing your grandma. Besides, the nurse I hired is taking good care of her, so my answer is no”
“Please, I just want to see her-”
“My answer is still no,” she said as she brought out her phone from her purse. Mellisa frowned.
She needed to make a scene, maybe then she would let her go see her sick grandma, she thought, staring at the people who were passing by.
“Mommy, I need to go see grandma, She is sick. We need to see her, please Mommy” she yelled as she burst Into tears and sat on the ground.
“What do you think you are doing?” Lisa whispered but she paid no attention to her. She stares around and noticed everyone was staring at them.
“Mellisa, stand up from the ground or I swear to God I will kill you myself,” she said between gritted teeth as she tightened her fist.
Mellisa stared at the look on her face and then increased the sound of her voice.
“Damn!!! I hate kids, I give up,” Lisa muttered with a look of frustration on her face.
“Fine, fine! We would go see her” she said and Mellisa turned to her with a bright look on her face.
“Yes, but you won’t spend more than ten minutes with her,” she said and Melissa nodded and stood up.
“Thank you, mummy, you are the best.” She moved towards her and hugged her. Lisa gritted her teeth.
“I’m not your mommy, don’t ruin my dress,” she said and then smiled and pulled away from the hug.
She opened the car door and helped her in, then closed the door.
Jeez, she uttered as she let out a sigh and then entered the car, ignited the engine, and zoomed off.
A black Bentley screeched to a halt in front of a small house. Mellisa climbed out of the car in a rush and sprinted inside the house while calling her grandma.
Lisa sighed as she got out of the car and trailed behind her.
“Grandma, I’m here” She yelled as she rushed towards her grandma who was lying on the bed, and hugged her.
“Oh my baby, you are here” her grandma Samantha muttered as a wide smile appeared on her face. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
“Yes, Grandma, I’m here. I miss you so much-”
“I miss you too honey,” Grandma Samatha said as she raised her head and saw Lisa standing by the door staring at her.
“Hey, how are you feeling?” Lisa asked with a smile on her face.
“I’m feeling much better, thank you, Lisa,” she said and Lisa nodded.
“Grandma, I have a lot to tell you,” Melissa said with a bright smile on her face. Lisa stood by the door watching them, lots of memories rushing back into her head as she stared at them.
She quickly looked away from them and walked away from the room.
She was sitting in the living room when the front door opened revealing the nurse she’d hired to take care of Grandma Samathan.
“Hey, Lisa, I didn’t know you would be coming-”
“Even I didn’t know I would be coming but here I am,” Lisa said as she let out a sigh.
“I was planning on calling you, I need to discuss something important with you,” she said and Lisa raised her eyebrows wondering what she wanted to say.
“It’s about Grandma Samantha, her sickness is getting worse and if the surgery is not carried out on time, she might die… Adrianna will lose the only family she’s got left”
