Chapter 289
“What are you doing here Lisa? You should leave ” Hannah said as she frowned and Lisa scoffed and turned to her.
“I didn’t know tough women cry,” she said and Hannah rolled her eyes and sat up probably on the bed.
“And who the hell told you I was crying?” She asked with a straight face on and Lisa chucked and sat on the couch.
“What do you want Lisa? What are you doing here?” Hannah asked and Lisa sighed softly ignoring her question.
“I didn’t believe it when Dolly Parton said *tough women don’t cry but I found out they do more often* now I believe it” She paused and then took a deep breath.
“It’s okay to cry. No matter how strong and tough you are as a woman, sometimes you have to break down.
We are human beings and not robots. We all have feelings.
toughness doesn’t mean you can’t show your emotions. A tough woman can cry, but she doesn’t let her emotions get in the way of what she needs to do.
She may feel sadness or pain, but she channels those feelings into her strength and resilience. She can still be vulnerable, but she’s not defined by her vulnerability.
Emotions are part of what makes us human and they are not something to be ashamed of” Lisa said and Hannah stared at her with a surprised look on her face wondering why she was trying to calm her down.
“I heard your father is back and I understand how you feel because of what he had done in the past….”
“How did you know about my father? Have you been following me?” She asked cutting off her speech
“What? No, I haven’t. Although in the past I hired someone to follow you, I didn’t anymore. I had overheard Brandon talking to Lucas about your father” she said and Hannah stared at her without saying a word.
“You should forgive him and give him a chance,” Lisa said and Hannah frowned.
“Forgive him you say? You don’t know what that man did. He abandoned me and my mom when we needed him the most.
If he hadn’t left my mom would still be alive now. If you were in my shoes, you would understand how I feel right now” Hannah said as she pushed back the tears that were gathering in her eyes, memories of how her mother had died came running into her mind.
“I understand how you feel_”
“You don’t, it’s not like you’ve ever been abandoned by your father”
“My father did worse, if he had abandoned me, it would have been better. He molested me and my sister when we were little…” she said and Hannah went silent immediately as she turned to her.
Lisa continued.
“My mother knew and couldn’t say anything because he threatened my mother that if she said a word to anyone or the corps he would kill us.
My mother was scared but then I didn’t know how or what happened. I woke up one day to the sound of the gunshot only to find my dad on the ground, and my mom with a gun in her hands. Turns out my mother killed my father” She paused, memories of the past came running into her head.
“Oh my goodness, I’m so sorry you had to pass through all of that,” Hannah said and Lisa smiled.
“It’s actually in the past,” she said and Hannah hummed.
“What about your sister and mother?” Hannah asked.
“My mother died of cancer a few years ago, and after that, I never heard from my sister again. I don’t know if she’s alive or dead” she said and then sighed. Hannah stared at her speechlessly not knowing what else to say.
“After her death, I had to learn to survive alone, I was willing to do anything for survival and then I met the Colby Brothers”
” That explains your selfish act, ” Hannah said and Lisa rolled her eyes.
She sighed and stood up.
“I hate this part of you, it’s so boring. Where is Hannah who would challenge me every single day sending shivers and fear down my spine?
Where is hannab who would stand her ground even though no one is besides her?
Stand up, girl.
“Wipe those tears and stand up. Face your father and talk to him. Let him know you are no longer that weak girl he left years ago. You’ve got this Hannah” Lisa said with a smile on her face and Hannah hummed.
“What’s come over you? I think I like this Lisa speaking to me. I wish you were always like that, we would never have an issue” Hannah said and Lisa scoffed.
“Consider this new me an apology for everything I did since I arrived here”
“Are you sure you are okay? Lisa apologizing to me, impossible” Hannah said and they both laughed.
They both went silent and Hannah sighed. Spoke softly,
“Thank you. I guess I needed to hear those words” Hannah said and Lisa smiled.
“I’ll be on my way out now. I’m smiling too much and do not like it” Lisa said and they both burst into another round of laughter.
Lisa turned to leave but then paused and turned to Hannah.
“Can we be friends?” She asked with a nervous look on and Hannah hummed.
” I hope this isn’t one of your schemes. Let’s see how it goes-”
“I believe it’s a yes,” Lisa said and they both smiled at each other as Lisa walked out of the room.
She smiled the moment she walked out and then walked to the room where she met Mellisa playing games on her phone.NôvelDrama.Org owns this.
Mellisa raised her head and stared at Lisa then faced her game.
“Your face seems bright,” Mellisa said and Lisa chuckled and sat on the bed with the lots of thoughts going through her heart.
“I overheard you and Hannah speaking, seems like the both of you are on good terms already”
