Chapter 118
Chapter 118
The next day after the banquet, the news of Olivia making a fool of herself at the banquet spread
throughout the upper-class society of LA
Justin soon found out about what had happened. As the head of the Thomas family, he could not stand
the fact that the Thomas family had become a laughing stock.
Olivia had to face the mockery from those socialites and Justin’s anger at the same time.
“If it doesn’t go off the trending topic, your grandpa would look into it,” Bailey, who was grounded at
home, said to Olivia on the phone.
Bailey paused for a moment and then continued, “If only something more eye-catching would happen
now. Then no one would pay attention to you.”
Olivia, who had hung up the phone, thought about Bailey’s words carefully. Finally, she gritted her teeth
and made a call.
Ever since Megan found out about Jessica’s identity, he didn’t pick on Jessica anymore. Thus,
Jessica’s work at the LA branch had been quite smooth since then. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
When Jessica was about to have a light meal downstairs after her morning work, she suddenly got a
call from Terry.
“There is both good news and bad news. Which one do you want to hear first?” Terry chuckled over the
phone.
“What is the bad news?” Jessica didn’t fear challenges.
“The bad news is … I suggest you look at Twitter now,” said Terry. “Then I’ll tell you what the good
news is.”
Jessica raised her eyebrows, turned on her laptop, and logged in to Twitter.
Jessica found that one of the trending topics was about Lucas and her again.
Several influencers retweeted the same post.
The post said that Jessica had known Lucas from high school and had a crush on him since then. The
post even logically analyzed the details of their marriage.
In the end, the post came to a conclusion.
That was, Jessica had been secretly obsessed with Lucas for many years and had plotted a scheme to
make Lucas marry her.
Lucas never liked such a calculating woman.
The author even added the illustration from the story and Jessica’s sketch to the post as evidence.
Jessica was furious when she saw the story being announced.
Jessica asked Terry on the phone, “What is the good news then?”
“The good news is that I know who is behind this,” Terry replied.
“Really? Who is it?’ Jessica asked.
“It’s Lucas.” Terry did not hear Jessica’s voice after he finished speaking. He paused for a few seconds
and asked, “Jessica, are you alright?”
“I’m fine. Thank you for both of the news.” Jessica let out a laugh, then said a few words to Terry before
hanging up the phone.
When Terry said that Lucas was behind it, Jessica didn’t believe it at all.
Although Jessica had long been disappointed with Lucas, she could still keenly sense that Lucas hadn’t
done it.
Hluche wanted to do that, he didn’t have to confirm with Jessica at the banquet.’
But Jessica found it strange that Terry said it was Lucas. With Terry’s capability, he could find out who
the real plotter was.
Jessica couldn’t come up with a reason and decided to give it up for now. She then called Wendy.
“Miss Hall, what can I do for you?” Wendy’s voice came from the other side of the line.
“There’s a trending topic on Twitter about me. Find out who did it,” Jessica said calmly.
“Yes, Miss Hall,” Wendy tersely replied.

As soon as Jessica hung up, Hannah pushed the door open and entered.
“Jessica, I see you are here.” Hannah walked towards Jessica, yet with a guilty look on her face.
Jessica knew Hannah very well, so she looked at Hannah with amusement and said, “Aren’t you here
to see me? Tell me, what trouble have you caused?”
“Jessica, have you seen the trending topic on Twitter?” Hannah asked after looking for the proper
words.
“Of course, what about it?” Jessica looked at Hannah with confusion.
“Here’s the thing. I asked Mr. Davison. He said that Lucas did it, so I went to settle the score with him.”
Hannah’s voice got even lower. “Then, I accidentally leaked the fact that you had a crush on Lucas in
junior high.”
With that, Jessica was lost for words.
Hannah looked at Jessica and said anxiously, “Jess, I didn’t do it on purpose!”
“I know.” Jessica touched her forehead helplessly and said, “But I don’t think Lucas was behind it.”
